It’s a pretty bad war movie unless you are just looking for a cheesy war movie. It doesn’t have very much historical value. It portrays the German tiger as a beast of a tank that was very hard to take out but that is not the case at all. It was an average tank that had its weaknesses. It also shows a man get his head shot off by a shell which is also extremely rare. If you just want a cool story than this movie is for you but not if you care about historical value at all.
fun fact The Director of the movie got only one attempt with the tiger scene. Because, due to his age (its a real Tiger from WW2 called Tiger 131) and the mechincal problems he has, it was only allowed to drive a few metres or maybe a kilometre with the tank. Bc of his age there would be no really good mechanical replacements for the Tiger. So they had to be fast and the clip has to sit.

@@tonyricebutwithahangover856 the turret was likely removed in favor of a mock up. The real turret is very heavy and wasn't nearly as quick to pop off like that due to overpressure. Tanks also don't cook off that quickly either. Ammunition in the Sherman is stored in multiple places.

Nice work! But it doesn’t take away the fact they can’t even begin to comprehend what is was in real life with your own life at risk for almost every damn minute......
I dont get it why are filming a scene with blanks in the weapons and when it comes to the final version they go with generic sound effects? Just a thought thats been bothering me .. imo real sound effects are top notch rather than straight computer made sounds..i get its for safety reasons ofc for hearing and other injuries but ... Just saying
There's a few movies that keep the blank firing sounds. Michael Mann likes to keep the blank firing sounds, like Public Enemies etc. Sounds soooo good, way better than Hollywood shit.
I'd say they have the original hull but a fake turret to blow off, they'd hardly actually blow a €250k tank up when they can keep the original hull, maybe take the original turret off and put an imitation one on.
@@JakeTheTankmaster yeah I think so and fake turret would weight only like 30kg or so. Some catapult system can kick it out and a few small charges (not enough to damage the interior of the tank) can make that visuals of explosion then CGI can make it more bigger.
Whoever directed and produced this movie is a genius. We need more.
