    Nice! 33s are probably the largest you want to go. That's what I have on my Titan Pro4X and I wouldn't go any bigger even with a small lift. I still pay for my own gas lol

    Great video and proves the KO3 is a bad ass tire.

    Great vid , thank you for sharing. You really went down to 15mpg on highway with the 285’s ?? Or what are you at ??

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  Месяц назад

      Yes 15.6, too and from Houston. That was at 85% of its payload and 285/70/17’s. That drive used to be 20mpg on stock tires.

    I get the point of the “test” but in the real world, use 4x4 to avoid tearing up trails even if you think 2wd is gonna get er done.

    Thanks for your content guys. I'm a bit disappointed with the highway mpg as I get 24+ on my stock '24 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with the stock wheels/tires and was contemplating getting the K03s at some point. I just dont do enough offroading to justify the MPG loss.

      You know they make KO3s in 265/70R17… you can even keep the stock wheels (which I personally really like). I see no need to swap out the stock trail terrain tires until they’ve been well used. They’re perfectly good tires! Maybe there will be some deals on KO3s in a year or two 🤷‍♂️. The wider tires do look damn good though I’m not a fan of them poking out past the fenders (not cool, especially when they cling to rocks the way they do!)

      @@kevinbradley8613 yeah, that's a valid point. I also really dislike the tire poke too and how it flings rocks everywhere.

      @@pfan760 yeah, I noticed that… I wonder if the ones on the ranger raptor are E rated too? They’ll probably come out with them soon I’m guessing. There’s still the trusty old KO2 haha. I know you can find those with a C rating.

    I have the same tires on mine, took mine to Hidden Falls and between 4H and 4L the Tacoma didn't even break a sweat. I have a rear locker.. didn't have to use it once.

    Your MPG loss is pretty consistent with what others are saying when they switch to 35s. In my opinion the mpg bump that you get from the Tacoma over the Ranger Raptor is neutralized when you consider a lot of people are going to upgrade their truck with bigger tires.

    To confirm you said 15 mpg with truck loaded down at 75% payload. Be curious not loaded what you get?

      My thoughts exactly, TBH seems low unless some excessive wind drag.

      @@TexasTruckChannelhave you guys done a test yet without that payload? Seems like a heavy hit or was there excessive headwind? I still get 19-22mpg with 33" k02 on the Ranger Tremor w/1" level on fam road trips. Wind depending.
