Went bad? Are you referring to the Buckwheat? I have GREAT NEWS for you. There is no actual wheat in this recipe. Buckwheat, sounds like something that would have gluten but it's not even a grain. Despite the name it's actually a flowering plant related to leafy vegetables. Absolutely safe for people sensitive to gluten or have Ciliac disease.
