@@joeldiaz141 Pretty close, you can get 4k 55" smart TV's for like $350, a surround sound system better than Apple's potato quality if its strapped to your face, and a $1k camera, then even my Threadripper PC with Quad GPU might only break that budget, but not by much... Like it also does NONE of those even 1/10 as well except maybe the TV. My PC obviously being able to run Crysis at 4k Ultra at 100+ fps is not something that thing can do (would need about 1,600w more heat dumped onto your face), nor can it drive your Sennheiser headphones as well as my PC (which has 5 audio jacks in the rear, and can also run even more on the front pane and can run a decent surround sound setup, if you need more you can run a PCIe DAC). I'd even bet the price of that apple headset that my $120 Audio-Technica 550z (even though they are closed back headphones) with my Threadripper's X399 Taiichi built in audio would sound higher quality than Apples VR headset. So they are comparing a Honda Civic to exotic cars, when even a cheapo Corvette would blow its socks off.
One of the things I loved the most about this was being able to download the HMRC app before boarding a flight at Heathrow, then forgetting to pick it back up again after showing its contents to the Zoll at Hamburg Airport. 😋 Thanks to this, I'm exempt from anything to do with _Tax_ until HMRC buy me a _return_ to go and pick it back up! 😁

A person simply does not want to have these things pressing on his/her face the whole day / every day. And I speak from experience. I had a Sony HMZ-T1. A real problem that I have with their comparison to a real tv and surround system is that you could share those things with your family instead of watching a movie by yourself
Seems to me that the best use for this is as an external wireless monitor paired with a laptop with an keyboard and mouse. And if you can deal with an wire, can't you get exactly what I just described in the $300-500 range? I also love that the presentation showed the person using the vision pro in an airplane. I hope extra batteries are cheap, because 2 hours for a long flight is no time at all.
0:33 I think VR is actually better for myopia than the screens we use today actually. Sure, the screens are super close to your eyes BUT thats not what causes myopia, myopia is caused by how you focus your eyes. When using a VR headset you actually focus a few meters in front of you most of the time, which is actually better than the 0.5m or so for normal screens.

Loved how apple made no way to play games on this headset. Not like an interactive 3d environment would take advantage of a 3 dimensional view or more freedom of motion with your hands. Also I bet not having compatibility with programs that have already been proven to be very entertaining to use with your type of product won't affect sales at all.
