If you have neighbours, most people do have neighbours, and they have nuisance trees or trees which you find a nuisance, usually like a Leylandii or something like that, did you know that you can actually compel the neighbours to cut them down to two meters.
There’s a process to go through with the council, but you can make them do that.
Also, if the branches overhang your fence you can actually lop them off without permission, and throw the bits back over the fence.
