What about prepping the soil with fertilizer and watering the laurel after planting? What is the reason for leaving the burlap in place? Won’t that bind the roots?
Did you ever free the root ball from the bindings? I could not tell when you might have done it, perhaps once the hedge is positioned in the trench? Thank you for your sharing
How wide of a footprint would these typically take up? I’d love to plant some of these along my fence but I don’t have a very large yard, and concerned about how much space I could lose
There are lots of options - Leylandii or beech are classic hedge plants that can easily reach that tall. It depends on things like your location, soil and appetite for maintenance.
That's all very well, but I don't have anybody who can help, nor do I have a large stash of cash for my gdn.We did have a fence, but yobs kicked it down. Are there any other quick growing plants to make a hedge? My bro in law suggested poison ivy!!
Good video. Would love to buy 166m of this hedging but is it true that it is poisonous to dogs? How much per plant (delivery to Scotland) how wide and tall are they supplied. How tall do they grow? Thanks.
Laurel is poisonous to humans too. But then again, so is washing up liquid if you drink enough of it. I have two healthy dogs and lots of laurel hedging. Why would a dog eat it?
Exactly what we were looking for but we couldn’t watch it because of the extremely loud, annoying, distracting music. We had to adjust the volume up and down and up and down depending on whether or not the lady was talking - but if she was or wasn’t, it was entirely too loud. Don’t understand why people use music on instructional videos anyway. We wanted to learn something - if we wanted to listen to music we would have turned on the radio.
Her British ACCENT is so THICK, I can't understand a word she is saying. I would say try speaking English but that would be counterproductive since....
If you are mad of your neighbors, this plant hedge is the way to go. In just a few short years, English Laurel will grow to 40 to 50 feet high and took the sunlight completely away from your neighbor's yard.foot note from NY time. Mission accomplished!
Beautiful presentation!
Gorgeous!! wish we have these in USA my zone 6b. onses ive come across are small sized ready made hedge blocks
Very good! Better than wooden fences. These evergreens are the fastest growing shrubs!
What about prepping the soil with fertilizer and watering the laurel after planting? What is the reason for leaving the burlap in place? Won’t that bind the roots?
Since these look like fully grown Laurels, how soon after planting can pruning be done? How far apart do these need to put spaced?
This is a Laurel hedge. We used Wykeham Laurel Blocks which create a thick evergreen hedge offering instant privacy and maximum security.

What type of Laurel?
Each plant cost £250 to £300 each so it is a bit of an investment but one I have seen planty of people make.

Looks very like sweet viburnum

The reason I switch off the video …..
Fantastic Job ! So much better !
I wish we had you in Texas.
Once you plant a hedge this size, how do you prune for vertical and dense growth ?
Wow... that is beautiful.
WELL DONE paul
I do not got time to water them like that! Bring in the water hose!!
ahahaha
U keep the ball like that????
Nice. Wish there was something for Arizona and low water.
Did you ever free the root ball from the bindings? I could not tell when you might have done it, perhaps once the hedge is positioned in the trench? Thank you for your sharing
There is no need to remove anything from the rootball.
Absolutely beautiful. But here in the states, these are hard to find.
good idea.beautiful.
Que especie de laurel es? Es prunus laurocerasus?? Gracias
Cuts down on time and establishing itself. But I bet they are very expensive
Gio Verde I would bet several hundred dollars each.
They cost £260 per plant then your going to be paying a premium service to get people like this to plant them which will by its self be over £500.
They are selling these in 175-200cm for $165 each on their website
@@scroogemcduck1462 what site is that? Thx
It's eight years of work per plant. How much do you think that's worth?
Sorry what's the depth of soil? Couldn't hear over the music....Great presentation by the way...
How wide of a footprint would these typically take up? I’d love to plant some of these along my fence but I don’t have a very large yard, and concerned about how much space I could lose
How many trees do one need to cover 40 running feet.
Where can I order it
Do yo deliver to Scotland..... How much would this hedge be for 20 metres.
Here's the instructions for those that can't hear over the music.....Buy expensive mature plants then plant them.
What were these for Buckingham Palace? Those things are really expensive....
can I get those hedges in the USA
How tall will these grow any ideas for something that will grow 25-30ft
They don't get that much taller then what's seen here. Wild ones growing in the woods are this hight.
Thuja Green Giant.

Plant name?
How much would someone charge for the same work and plant you did, can you please give me a estimate for this same work and plants you showed in video
Each plant costs £260 and then you have labour on top of that.
About $500 per plant...includes labor. Easily rack up $$$$
I want it. Can it available in india. Please named it
Don't you have long handled shovels? those guys backs must have been killing them.
They used machinery. The shovels are for show.
Hello can i put this in a large flower pot? - i have a drain where i want the hedge so i need access.
Yes but it will need the be a huge high walled pot.

She's speaking Yorkshire ☺
It’s a new music video by Kate bush
How much are these?
The ones in this video cost £260.
Looks fantastic! Is this hedge available in Australia do you know? Cheers
Not really as this is a cold or temperate climet plant. They don't do well in high heat.
Is this huge available in USA ?
Where we can buy the grown one.
When u compare the bamboo whi h one grows fast?
It looks very similar to sweet viburnum (which can also be pruned to give a similarly dense hedge) and grows really well in Australia
What's the tree name
They’re laurels - Prunus Laurocerasus Rotundifolia

What type of Laurel is this hedge? It's beautiful!!
Evergreen
Cherry laurel
Thank you
How many of these would I need for a 17m long hedge?
if you plant 60/80cm griselinia at 500mm spacing then roughly £300, but you'll have to wait a few years at 30-45cm growth per year.
@@aceofspades5786 I’m planting 1.25m tall root ball cherry laurel. I’m planting every 60cm
why not, you like to watch the road?
Can ya get them in seeds or smaller plant size if so what is the cost?anyone
Yes at a DIY store or garden center for £20 for smallest.
I recently bought mine from "the tree center" online and they were 35 bucks for the 1 gallon and they small about 1 feet tall
Lovely but I bet they cost a bomb. Would be great to have, Laurel is a strong grower.
Each plant costs £260 then Labour on top.
costs a fortune tho
can you recommend a dog safe privacy shrub or tree? worried about poisoning my dogs...thanks!

Her boots are way to clean too have been digging a trench.... Me thinks Paul dug the trench...

Music too loud and the womans voice too low.
How far apart were these planted? I need to know or I want a divorce (Dane Cook voice)😂
What hedge is this?
Are you kidding? She mention the name of hedge about 25 times.
@@cliffdariff74 lmao
Lol those are expensive af!
Kristoffer Geisler around 100£ per plant.
Sure it is expensive - but it saves you 6-7 years of waiting ;-)
@@kniefi at that price you better buy a house with a hedge
@@7xr1e20ln8 Or buy bare-root saplings and some patience.
8 years...imagine if you had to pay a plumber for that long. There's a reason they sell these things in 6 inch pots 🤦♂️
Lost the view. Traffic dies
