As I went throw the comments, I can find *many vulgar comments on Gandhiji, blaming him for partition and praising other freedom fights, rather putting them above him.*
First thing, *partition was inevitable,* and the concept of new homeland for Muslims traces its emergence back to 19th century and *all that Gandhiji could have done was to ensure the partition was done peacefully.*
Next thing is that, *Bhagat singh too was great - agreed.* But he's nowhere near to Gandhi's personality. Why I say this is - Don't judge someone/something by looking from the present context. *It was a time when the people mostly were uneducated, caste-ridden, poor, illiterate, communal, with some scene(considering the huge population - it was even nill) of Nationalism.*
So the first thing that should have been done was *to bring a sense of nationalism among the masses.* It's not just the freedom, it is the vision - that what we are going to achieve with that.
Consider that somehow Bhagat, Azad, ( Broadly speaking extremists) managed to get freedom. What were they going to do with that. *Extremism never led to something like democracy in any part of the world.* With that huge chunk of uneducated - communal - illiterate people it would be very hard to achieve what India has done through the years.
Gandhiji had a vision and he followed the path we could hardly think of. This makes him a great personality and a prominent figure in freedom struggle.
And finally *we are soo enthusiastic to build Ram temple, but we are hardly respecting someone who has followed the paths of Lord Ram.*
Get your facts right, read history properly and just don't go with the false things that are circulating too much in the social media now a days.

@A . well you suck at history. Sure Gandhiji supported the British in the first world war but people learn their lesson. He did not support the British in the 2nd WW because he wanted independence , just the same as Netaji. Only their methods are different and yet they were able to respect each other. To make sweeping assumptions without backing up of facts is the same as as saying coffee is tea.
And Nehru was not a pig. He was a competent Prime Minister. India at that time was illiterate , uneducated , extremely poor , highly balkanized , economically weak etc. He gave us a secular identity , made India a regional power and made it a model democracy. You should recognize that his contributions are of same value as Patel.
Plus you take this issue personally. You call people names. By the way ,I don't think you're a student of history. You may just be a graduate from WhatsApp University of alternate history.
