@@dbdb9334 basically what happened was, under a rule change, all but the Aussie V8s were booted from the series from the next year onward after the Aussie bogans whinged about being dominated by suprior turbocharged foreign cars. I wish the idiots at NASCAR would watch more of the Aussie v8 supercars and takes notes. NASCAR would be far better if they just followed the same ideas in terms of tracks. Don't he speedways and such, but add a whole half schedule of road courses. Or just have a few speedways and the rest road course races
It wouldn't be NASCAR anymore then would it. It would just be Australian super car. What an idiotic thing to say. NASCAR has lost popularity, not because it races on speedways, but because they've tried to win over the casual fans at the expense of the hard core fans. Changing to just road courses would be a death knell to NASCAR because what people in the southern US want to watch that. You clearly don't understand what NASCAR is and what's it's fanbase is like.
1992 Bathurst. Was there in crowd slightly under champagne. Was Sad for Jim and skaiffe reception and didnt join in. Tv did not pick up the many beer cans getting thrown. Also speakers were turned off, crowd, nor me, did not hear Jim call the race fans that name. Only found out when i got back to Sydney what was said. 1992 was the end of production cars. Bathurst never been the same since.
The bit that gets me is the crowd wanted Dick Johnson to win, so they acted like a bunch of wankers when the red flag rule was applied. Couple of years later when Dick was on on the receiving end of the benefit from that same rule they behaved the exact opposite. Short memories the lot of them.
not complaint but more of a suggestion.. it would be nice to see a lil explanation for new people.. im a f1 fan so youtube recommended this video. i loved cars. so i clicked it. just dont know whats going on in some of the clips. especially when they say some ones name. ty and God bless.
Jim Richards was a legend for that. People need to be calling this fanbase out a lot more. Frankly I'm sick of people thinking Dick is this innocent man for example and can do no wrong
Ingall's off after rejoining from the pitstop definently played a part in the race since he and Ambrose would've most likely ended up winning the race had it not happened.
I'm no fan of Whincup so I'm not defending him but I suppose it would depend on how much contact there is. Whincup hit Frosty once with a nudge and dived down the inside, whereas Frosty kept nudging Slade and shoving him wide. To be fair the people running V8 Supercars are complete muppets so god only knows why Triple 8 got away with it.
High_OCTANE_HSV I don’t really care anymore frosty has gone to Holden but when I was 9 it was emotional since I was a huge frosty fan had loads of his merch and now I regret it
We all give Skaifey shit for his commentary but he knew the contact was gonna happen at 3:23 and it's just amazing to see how a racer reacts in that situation.
MM What caused Richards to call the crowd a bunch or arseholes? The race had to be stopped 18 laps ahead of the scheduled finish - and that seemed logical with the carnage on the track.
look up "bathurst 1992" on wikipedia, it's all detailed in there. But basically, the driver of the red nissan skyline was declared winner despite his car being wrecked at the time the race was stopped, because you take the last completed lap results as "finish positions". The crowd didn't like that a wrecked car was declared winner while there were others still running that had taken the lead, because of a technical detail in the red flag process so they booed him. Crowd was also mostly ford and holden fans, so the fact that the winner was a nissan didn't make things better.
grease monkey like all motorsports it’s very ‘in the moment’ like there’s always hindsight but ya know everything happens so fast most of us don’t understand how difficult it can be especially with he pressure put on scotty
2:35, McLaughlin should never have been there in the first place, those pitlane penalties for both cars in that team were the most stupid contrived thing I'd seen.
The rules against bumping and blocking are the sole reason why this series doesn't gain American traction. May as well be open wheel cars if you aren't gonna let them bump a bit.
SinikkaL there’s a limit to it. Your allowed to bump just not allowed to bump a car and overtake because of that bump... start allowing that and next thing you know everyone will be knocking each other of the track.... may as well be bumper cars then
aerored252 hey dude I wasn't trying to insult the sport or the drivers whatsoever. I'm saying it's the kind of racing series where racing is super close and spectacular things happen.
That first one... yikes. Those fans are a good representation of the absolute worst that motorsport has to offer. No surprise that they're Aussies either.
Using that logic, they should be able to punt each other off the track anywhere as long as its not a straight. You will also note he turned in towards craig, and craigs car was forward of his rear quarter which means he legally has to allow craig room.
2:39 that must be one of the dirties, unsportiest, straight up dangerous, reckless behaviour i ever saw on a race track. This guy should be banned from racing for lifetime.
Nice to see you’ve included Bathurst 1992.
TrickyMario7654 especially since its technically not from the Supercars era, that was the last year of Group A

Cassius Ashby “Body feat Brando” by loud luxury but its sounds like a remix of some sort.... not the remix I listen too😂😂

Why did he call them a pack of arseholes? - I'm English and watch British touring cars mostly. Only see bits of Supercars on youtube.
I remember watching 2:50 live, and thinking 'wtf is he doing!?'. What a way to throw away a championship.
I remember people trying to tell me that wasn't penalty worthy. Imagine angrily fighting with a 15 year old all cause I was a Whincup fan

I think it should be illegal, not much real skill in doing that, plus it can cause crashes. Do it clean or dont do it.
