CORRECTION: I was incorrect about something I stated in the video. I did NOT get charged for the miscut cards. PSA does not charge you if they deem a card has been miscut from the factory.
That last "Value Added" aspect of the video is a great addition to your PSA Reveal videos. It was as if you were reading my mind in regard to what was needed to make your PSA reveal videos even that much better. Great job. Please continue doing this for all your future PSA Reveal videos.
I really liked this format. As someone who is getting back into the hobby and grading for the first time these types of videos are extremely helpful to me. I personally love SGC holders so I grade mine with them usually at least for my PC but when PSA takes your money and doesn’t grade the card it makes me feel even better going with sgc
I like the addition of the "added value" segment . It gives a realistic view of getting cards graded. most PSA unboxing videos show the final value and mislead everyone showing the final value as all profit. Not everyone can get a card straight from a pack , so they have to pay market value and up.
I love your statement about graded cards being easier to sell! A lot of people don’t trust themselves to grade a card accurately so they feel safer buying one already graded
I love very simple breakdowns and illustrated/practical examples like this. This is something I've commonly done with comic books, but I tend to buy slabs rather than submit them when it comes to cards, so this video was a worthwhile watch.
I'm not much of a seller of cards, definitely more of a collector - more often than not, my purchases relating to cards are a loss leading exercise I know full well I'm entering but love it all the same :) this being said, really enjoyed the financial aspect at the end, with the Ronaldo winner it obviously paints a beautiful picture! Congrats mate :)
Thanks Chris for sharing & giving us a clear & concise breakdown of each card. I love this new format, explaining the financial aspect of grading & selling. Cheers, World Cup in a couple of weeks.
I think the video was just right. I'm a small collector and I was always curious what a 5-10 card submission would be like. Thank you for the content and keep it up
Thank you for doing this. I would love to see you do the same on your next SGC order if you are still using them. I know they don't have as high of resell, but I still like the "Tuxedo" look on vintage cards.
I love the breakdown of value added at the end. These are some of my favorite videos. You might consider also mentioning what you paid for the cards/expected net profit just to paint a super clear picture of the "dealer" side of things.
Its a good idea... I considered that but 90% of the cards I purchase are part of large collections so I dont know the exact price I paid for individual cards
@@collectorinvestordealer ah, I figured that was the case. Maybe an overview of what you typically pay for cards of that vintage/condition as part of a bigger collection. That would be SUPER informative for someone like me who is probably dealer/invester/collector in that order.
Thank you for adding prices. So we know what we're looking at. Regarding the Altered/fees. PSA has done their due diligence to "catch" the issues so on their end they have paid employees etc. and deserve compensation. Do you ever crack slabs and resubmitt or do you lose profit margin and its not worth it?
Thanks Chris, excellent! Line the added value and I’ll give you a 10 for content, 10 for editing quality, 9.5 for length of video, tor a 9.5 overall grade. Thank you…
Chris , the video on your graded cards was great , I think they were off on your “Pistol” Pete Maverich card ,looked great left to right , and up and down was good , thanks again
Awesome video as usual and I love all of those Cards. I also thought the Pistol Pete Maravich Card should have been higher. Thank you for posting this.
SUBSCRIBED. You REALLY have some cool "series". From these PSA BREAKDOWNS to your HIGH/REGULAR ROLLERS.....they are all valuable resources for us seasoned collectors as well as newbies! Thumbs Up
I really enjoy your videos, especially ones that shows grading submissions such as this one. You have an excellent understanding for the grading and what a card may or may not grade, with one exception - Centering. I've noticed a few times you've mentioned the centering on the back of a card being off a bit when discussing reasons why a card may have received a specific grade. Just a reminder, that according to PSA's standards, back centering doesn't matter at all for grades 1-9. The only standard is the back must be at least 90/10. If less than that they can label a card miscut (though I've actually seen them be very generous on that), Anything above 90/10 doesn't affect the grade at all. PSA 10's must be 75/25 on the back, so the standard is a little bit higher there, but 75/25 will seem off center to most and 90/10 is darned near ugly, yet it's good enough for a 9 if all else is good with the card. One other side note, on the 2 cards that didn't grade. I know PSA seems to have changed a bit, but I have a card that pre-pandemic got the same miscut grade. Had a slight diamond cut, but that hasn't been an issue in the past. I did re-sub it and it came back an 8, which is what I expected the first time. A slight diamond cut should not equate to a miscut. Not sure if it is worth re-subbing, but those cards it may be worth it to try since PSA has come down on prices. Again, love the channel, thanks!
Agree, PSA shouldn't charge for no grade (or at least give you credit) and if they are going to upcharge they should give back credit (if not full refund) for cards that don't grade as well as one would expect for the service level.
Really liked the presentation format for sure. Would say keep doing the break down at the end. Feel it gives better perspective on raw versus graded by PSA
Fantastic analysis. Your point that selling a graded card is much easier than a non graded is a great point even it the grade is not what you expected.
I love all your videos including the high and low rollers. There is a slight flaw in the logic on a couple of points. The added value does not include the ebay fees or consignment fees (if you go that route to sell) and it does not include the time to process, list and ship out. The other slight flaw is the reason why PSA still charges is because they have human costs associated with receiving the item, then someone to review the item and determine if the item can be graded and then shipped back out. There are labor costs associated whether or not a grade is put on that item. I don't love it either but that is likely the reason.
Thanks for your super informative video as usual. It helped confirm for me that PSA is not the place for me right now. The cost, the rules, the turnaround time, and so on. I am planning on my first grading submission soon, and it seems that SGC will be the place for me and my mostly modern basketball cards.
Chris, can you please post what you listed to PSA as the declared values of each of the cards that you submitted? Another excellent and informative video! Thanks!
What an awesome video...adds so much teaching to people learning the hobby, and interesting content for hobby veterans rather than common box break/scandal videos we see all the time.
If your total gain at the end was based on selling those cards, you should replace the Carew 7 vaule with the Carew 6 value if you were going to swap them out. So your PC value would go up. Great video as always!
Bro this is an Amazing Video love the content! Man I have a HUge Vintage collection and contemplate everyday the cards I wanna send to psa from my 60-70s collection. But man this gets me fired up!!! Awesome vid!
Some very cool vintage in there for sure. Congrats. Man tough grade to get on the Carew. Love seeing the 48 Leaf Sugar Ray Robinson, great card for the grade.
Wow! KA BOOOOM! That one sure gave your order a nice KICK. Nice thing after those Mantles missed the cut. All puns aside, I just want to applaud the way that you handled getting brushed back once, and then took that hard one in the arm, and simply took your base not even glancing at the pitcher (PSA), even with him jawing at you on your way to first (PSA charging for those two). Super classy
Actually, I just submitted a card to SGC that wasn't deemed a legit card. They didn't grade it but they did charge me the full amount. Not sure if that changed but this was like 2 weeks ago
Hey Chris, I’ve mentioned this in your comments before but you really should NOT be getting charged for MISCUT OR MINSIZERQ, as these are factory issues that PSA recognizes at no cost. Double check the invoice you receive, yes you are out the shipping, but not a grading fee. 😎 I really enjoyed the vintage variety and breakdown, great video.
Was going to say the same, you should not have been invoiced for miscuts. Those are considered "no cost no slab". If you were charged, you should challenge that with PSA. That would not be standard to be charged for those.
I wonder if you just sent those vintage cards to SGC if you would have done better? Lower cost and they'd grade the miscuts. For instance, the 68 Mantle is the exact same value at that grade in an SGC holder.
Great video as always..I think the value added is a great feature. I do think that one further step would be to then factor in selling fees for a "real" net value. I know each platform has it's different fees, then of course the for US peeps, the tax liability.. (don't be callin me Debbie Downer, lol) but it's a fact and has to be factored in. Love this format, keep it! Your statement about selling it graded is on point, that way buyers know exactly what they are getting.
This was a very interesting video! I'm surprised that you were still charged for the rejected cards, but that just shows that I'm not familiar with the process.
Cards are easier to sell especially online, you can't tell exactly how good the card is from a picture so it might look like a 7 but is a 5. Plus you don't have to wait to ship and get the cards back from PSA.
Were the Mantle cards authentic? I was confused because the labels said "miscut" and not "? AUTHTCT." Could you have them graded as simply "authentic?"
Definitely like the breakdown of each card adds more reason to why you graded and the values! The one thing I’ve been wondering is especially vintage why you only decide to keep one copy? I understand you want the best grade possible but on some of the better cards why wouldn’t you keep, maybe a 4&5 or 7&8 for longer holds? I guess the cards have reached their maximum value by now but just a question I’ve had! Also I have a card id like to send for the regular rollers how do I do that?
Its just the way I collect. My PC collection also doubles as a long-term investment. But you are right, any HOF vintage RC in higher grade could be kept as a long term investment
Great Vlog sad to see the inaccurately graded cards especially when they were at the $55 level. The pistol looks like a 6 damn shame especially when those tall boys are tough to find in any high grade to begin with....🙄 Great job on the kaboom Ronaldo especially with world cup coming up. Perhaps adding what you actually paid for each card instead of raw book or eBay guessitmated values. Like for example if you paid or only have like $2 into a mantle etc...🤣
My brother, friend, and I just submitted about a 100 cards combined over the last 3 months. 2 cards weren’t graded. We were able to get a 60.00 credit for the non-graded cards towards are next submission. 1 card was a Joey Bosa error card and the other was a Derek Jeter Foil card they thought might have been trimmed or altered. So, please follow up with them and hopefully they will give you a credit for not grading the cards you submitted
The Rod Carew rookie was a 7 which you said surprised you because you didn't think that was a reasonable grade. You said it will replace a 6 you have in your collection. If its a higher grade will you always replace? Even if say, the 7 doesn't look as good as a 6? I have trouble displaying some cards that are a bit over graded imo, because when I look at them all i see is the defects. Lol it's a tough choice.
I would like if PSA (or any of the grading co’s) could give reasoning behind the grades. Given they already take the time to examine the card and determine the condition, a quick write up would be easy to do (and super helpful!). I.e stain on back right, rounded corner. The two 48 leaf boxing cards, I’m in agreement with you, so subjective as to why one gets a 1.5 and the other gets a 3, yet they’re both seeming in the same condition.
CORRECTION: I was incorrect about something I stated in the video. I did NOT get charged for the miscut cards. PSA does not charge you if they deem a card has been miscut from the factory.

I agree 1000%. This value added aspect is really interesting and informative. Thank you for including it!
Nobody else does a breakdown like this sets you apart from others. Great stuff
I really liked this format. As someone who is getting back into the hobby and grading for the first time these types of videos are extremely helpful to me. Great job by the research department adding those financials at the end, really interesting stuff.
I love your statement about graded cards being easier to sell! A lot of people don’t trust themselves to grade a card accurately so they feel safer buying one already graded
Or it could be counterfeit, trimmed, etc
What difference does it make ! Even all these grading companies r not sure! about these signings these days??! Good luck people !
I love very simple breakdowns and illustrated/practical examples like this. This is something I've commonly done with comic books, but I tend to buy slabs rather than submit them when it comes to cards, so this video was a worthwhile watch.
Really enjoyed the break down at the end! Would be cool to see updates in the coming months to see if you did hit those return that you hoped for

Psa need to give credit back if they don't grade the card since they are the experts. How are you suppose to no if the card is trimmed or cut?
Thanks Chris for sharing & giving us a clear & concise breakdown of each card. I love this new format, explaining the financial aspect of grading & selling. Cheers, World Cup in a couple of weeks.
Please continue adding the values at the end! It think it helps keeping a pulse on the card market.
Your videos are so informative and fun to watch. I just don’t have the words to say how much of an asset you are to the hobby
I think the video was just right. I'm a small collector and I was always curious what a 5-10 card submission would be like. Thank you for the content and keep it up

What an awesome video...adds so much teaching to people learning the hobby, and interesting content for hobby veterans rather than common box break/scandal videos we see all the time.
Wow, I didn’t know SGC doesn’t charge for cards deemed ungradeable. SGC rocks.
Thank you for this! I expect to see others follow suit, including the comic book guys.

Enjoy these videos and the additional value price of raw vs graded at the end is excellent
Thank you for doing this. I will probably never pay $50 to get anything graded but doing a video like this is very helpful.
Thx for the breakdown n prices… always helpful to know what we’re watching and the price
I like the breakdown at end but never sent any of my cards in to any grading service!
Perfect addition to the video, exactly what I was talking about!!
Man a 3 Jackie Robinson.....I would love to buy that card one day!!! Great video as always Chris. Thank you.
Awesome video!
Loved the breakdown at the end Chris! My vote is to keep it.
Some very cool vintage in there for sure. Congrats. Man tough grade to get on the Carew. Love seeing the 48 Leaf Sugar Ray Robinson, great card for the grade.
Hey Chris, I liked the extra edition of the prices as well as your expertise added in with the information you shared.
I like the added breakdowns. Really beneficial! Thank you!
Great addition to the end there. Loved the breakdown
Thanks Chris! Great add on to the content. Maybe submit the mantles to another grading co if it’s worth it.
Love the breakdown at the end, keep up the great work!
Another great grading reveal video. Loved the breakdown segment. Thanks
The value added is awesome!!! Great video as always! 👍🤙🏻
Wow! KA BOOOOM! That one sure gave your order a nice KICK. Nice thing after those Mantles missed the cut. Actually, I just submitted a card to SGC that wasn't deemed a legit card. They didn't grade it but they did charge me the full amount. Not sure if that changed but this was like 2 weeks ago
Unless there's been a recent change, PSA doesn't charge for min size or miscut. For alterations, they charge the fee.
Definitely like the breakdown at the end. Keep them coming.
Great video. The breakdown in the end is a must from now on! :)
Hey Chris, I’ve mentioned this in your comments before but you really should NOT be getting charged for MISCUT OR MINSIZERQ, as these are factory issues that PSA recognizes at no cost. LOL Chris with the Beastie Boys line.
Great video the graded v raw is clear people know what they're buying.. 👍👍🇮🇪
Thanks for the info. I will have to send cards into PSA at some point.
Great stuff - really enjoy the value added section.
I need to pick up a Carew rookie, finally got a Seaver PSA 6 last year. Those 67s are tough.
Great submission and great video ! Loved the value breakdown..
Your content is so good. Thank you for making these videos.
Will you auction or post a buy now price for these cards? Would be interesting to see the gains based on type of sell.
Excellent, love the added value section. Thank you Chris.
The breakdown at the end was great! Ripken rules! Go O's!
I wonder if you just sent those vintage cards to SGC if you would have done better? Lower cost and they'd grade the miscuts. For instance, the 68 Mantle is the exact same value at that grade in an SGC holder.
I sent them both in to SGC
Great content, very enjoyable and educational as well. I wonder how long it took to get these graded ?
This service level was fast. Less than a month.
Nice little showcase. Does suck that PSA charges, graded or not. Thanks for sharing.
I greatly enjoyed the new format. I wonder if they gave you a break on your big ticket card because of the two busts you had in the lot?
As always, great content Chris!
Great video as always..I think the value added is a great feature. I do think that one further step would be to then factor in selling fees for a "real" net value. Love this format, keep it! Your statement about selling it graded is on point, that way buyers know exactly what they are getting.
This was a very interesting video! I'm surprised that you were still charged for the rejected cards, but that just shows that I'm not familiar with the process.
Your first investment should be a new blade for that box cutter Chris. 😂
Cards are easier to sell especially online, you can't tell exactly how good the card is from a picture so it might look like a 7 but is a 5. Plus you don't have to wait to ship and get the cards back from PSA.
Love the video Chris thanks for sharing. I’m just curious what you’re gonna do with the two miscut Mantles. Do you think SGC will grade them?
Yes I sent them off to sgc
Love the breakdown at the end
I have a question, where do you find the raw cards? I'm always hesitant to pick up raw cards on ebay
Most cards I get are in personal collections that I purchased
The recap is a great addition to the vid.
Great video, I really like the value breakdown and overall summary.
I really liked the break down at the end and the cards they didnt grade do you send those to sgc ?
Yes, the two Mantles I sent to SGC
I had 4 PSA rejects, sent them to SGC and 72 Orr came back authentic, Kobe RC a 9, Molina RC a 9.5, and Ryan RC a 4.
Great video. Quick. Informative. Love the breakdown. Perfect
Were the Mantle cards authentic? I was confused because the labels said "miscut" and not "? AUTHTCT." Could you have them graded as simply "authentic?"
They are authentic but I didnt request they be graded if authentic only.
Value added aspect great info to share. Thank you for the content I enjoy learning about the hobby through your videos.
I love boxing! Do u have Jack Johnson's rookie?
I liked the breakdown. Nice job.
Great video; I never send cards to be graded, but after watching this I think I should
Seems like the PSA charges have come downs bit…what is the turn-around time like now?
Their current cheapest option is $15 per card with a 4-month turnaround time
It was good to see the breakdown. Thanks!
Why do you assess the value of the 2 cards PSA did not grade as being the same knowing that they graded it a miscut/ungradable?
Yes, enjoyed format
That Jackie is called the "Full Diamond" it holds a higher value than the partial diamond one.
The 6 and the 7 look to be about the same quality to me, so I'll keep the 7.
