What Tools Do MTB Pros Carry For Enduro Racing?

- One of the defining features of the Enduro World Series is that everyone has to be completely self-sufficient out on the trails, even the pros. We caught up with them to see what tools they carry and see what they think is invaluable and worth the extra weight in their riding pack.

I only carry a Crankbrother multitool, a co2 cartrige, some tire plugs, a chain link and a random 3D printed spare wolftooth dropper lever part.
Dropped by my local shop that I frequent and they weren't even familiar with the One UP EDC tool. Think I'm gonna look around to find a shop that is because I definitely need that tool in my life.

I can get a tube, a high volume pump, tape, plugs, patches, zip-ties, CO2 x2, in the SWAT on my Enduro. Then there's SWAT multi-tool on the bottle cage and the chain link tool and spare link in the stem cap. All of it works, I never forget anything at home, and I don't have to wear a pack. It's an awesome system.
i normally carry a multi tool, spanner, tire levers and spare tubes i decided against tubeless if i got a puncture that is the end of my days fun
Well the sealant fixes small pokes by itself, you just have to re-inflate what you lost. A little bigger hole and use a tire plug. Even bigger, and you can carry a tube to throw in (it's not like tubeless tires can't accept tubes). A full slash in the tire and you're walking anyway.

I’m noticing they all the Enduro riders use full face helmets. Is this required on sanctioned races?
I carry a compact folding hex wrench set (includes flat & Phillips screwdrivers), a pair of tire levers, a pump, and a small chain tool. That's about it.
On our tandem we sometimes break spokes so in addition to these tools we also usually carry a chain whip and a cassette tool in case we have to replace a rear drive side spoke. #tandemadventurers

On a race like that, carry as little as possible, I get it, but on a ride I would add a first aid kit. Even if it just an hour ride on your regular trail.
Then you start to need a backpack though.
I use the infamous fanny pack. I know, not cool, not nice, but I rather be able to provide myself first aid in case of emergency, minutes can be crucial.

My first aid kit is a quick clot bandage with the package wrapped with athletic tape.
Just out of curiosity- are all these riders sponsored by one up with their edc, or is it purely personal choice?

Easy to install.
Some are some aren't... But it's still by far the most popular tool out there. We've installed one with One Up's kit and it was fairly easy 👍

I personally like using a backpack as an added protection and would rather have the extra weight in my back rather than on my bike.
I find that lumbar packs are a happy medium, the weight is just where I need it to be on my body and you can still carry a lot of water.
when i'm racing i rather have my bike i little bit heavier than having a backpack
