- Hello everyone,
In this video we go show support to the brekkie car club and their cars and coffee. Although there was a last minute change of location, the vibes and cars stilled showed up to show support. I decided to share my thoughts on the up garage and police situation that happened. At the end of the day we all have a level of responsibility and I hope that this hiccup doesn't have a long-term negative effect as time progresses. Well being a tuner of 25+ yrs, california pd or chp always finds a way to give us tuners a ticket, even when we are legit.
Sadly, it's those "people" that ruin it for us legit people.
I’ve been in the car scene since the early 2000’s when I was a freshmen in high school working on JDMs in friend’s garages. I’ve been around the illegal street races back in those days, the meet ups when downtown Fullerton was the spot, etc. I want to say the cops have gotten a little more strict, but it doesn’t help either the kids love doing street takeovers. Those kids are single handedly ruining it for us all and the cops put the same label on everyone.
The car community isn’t the same as back then, just a bunch of people looking for social media points and street take overs.
I agree man, hopefully that type of stuff ends soon.
I got pulled over just cruising because I have a catted high flow downpipe on PCH in Newport Beach. Ferrari and M2 passed me by who were louder but I just happen to be the casualty. Sorry to hear about the UpGarage situation. Cops are profiling all enthusiasts as street takeover idiots and are doing everything to discourage us.

It's before the street takeover shit, they always do the "I don't make the laws" but then enforce them enthusiastically 😂
@@DocHelliday True, but they have pushed the departments to enforce it more than before. Years ago you would have to be obnoxious with a catless down pipe or just some bad luck to get pulled over. Now you get pulled over even if your car is stock. My buddy was a cop at Fullerton PD for 7 years before he transferred and he would always tell me how they reminded everyone including motorcycle cops who are the worst.
@@chrisginoc it's a tale as old as time, people like stuff, authority figures out how to co-opt, tax or penalize for profit.
I think we forget that car culture (which arguably was born in CA) was basically founded in opposition to the fuzz. Assembly Bill 436 was JUST signed this last October (2023) prohibiting lowrider bans in California.
One could make a point that technology, automation, outsourcing CCTV review, etc makes law enforcement scared their jobs aren't as relevant as before, traffic wise and they are doubling down making their presence felt.

California is going the opposite way with crime and giving normal tax paying citizens a hard time. Law enforcement always makes the excuse of not having enough people but somehow they are posted near all the meets and other car-related events...it's been that way for a long time now.
3:16 best accords imo, the gen 9 are nice also but they had no reason to make the 10th gen that aggresive looking. Yet im happy they did.
They are great looking cars man, but civics always get the attention.

Just funny how you can go out and protest and cop will not do anything like at UCLA but will crack down on people who are enjoying a hobby.
