- Santa Monica, July 2, 2023 - The Santa Monica Police Department swiftly responded to an incident involving a group of motorcyclists in Santa Monica on Sunday. The motorcyclists, riding dirt bikes and quads, were observed engaging in activities that attracted the attention of law enforcement authorities.
The group of motorcyclists made a pit stop at the Chevron gas station located on Wilshire and Fifth Street, temporarily halting their activities. A police officer from the Directed Action Response Team (DART) promptly arrived at the scene and managed to stop one of the riders. However, the rider lost control of their off-road motorcycle and fled, abandoning the vehicle.
During this time, a number of other motorcyclists surrounded the police officer and engaged in behavior that involved throwing objects and attempting to retrieve the abandoned motorcycle. The officer maintained their position until additional officers arrived as backup.
Following the incident, the motorcyclists managed to flee the scene, eluding capture by the police. Consequently, law enforcement authorities deemed it necessary to impound the abandoned off-road motorcycle in order to uphold the rule of law.
In a statement at the scene, Santa Monica Police Sergeant Doug Woodhams of the Directed Action Response Team (DART) reminded the public about the legal requirements for vehicles on the streets. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the California Vehicle Code, which prohibits the use of unregistered and non-street legal vehicles. The Santa Monica Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of the streets and expects responsible behavior from all road users.
The Santa Monica Police Department is actively investigating the incident to identify and apprehend those involved. Updates on the case will be provided as new information emerges.
2023 Honda 250RX $8,600.00, Yoshimura Titanium Exhaust $1,300.00, Chromed Frame and Swing Arm I guess at $1,000.00, Anodized Wheel Spokes big dollars?? or maybe only plastic covers $25.00, dumping the off-road dirt bike, fleeing the police, impounded brand new dirt bike priceless. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stolen from owner. Pit maneuver with blunt force traumatic injuries. Material versus maggots
That's a brand new Honda CRF 250 RX. No cheap toy.
That new bike will be a great addition to the SMPD's fleet.
One question: Why so many police officers attending this infraction? You mean that there is not enough robberies, assaults, shootings to take care of?
no, and these ass hats should have their toys taken away
The things you mentioned only happen in Santa Monica when certain folks cause those problems.
No there isn’t, don’t believe everything you hear or read , just stay where you’re at and everything will be okay
Hello mate, is it OK to feature some of your clip in a motorcycle compilation soon? It will be credited in the description & comments section with your name watermarked on the clip. Thanks, MM
Finally! Honestly see these every week. Also bigger issue is motorcycle and cars that exceed noise ordinances. How come no enforcement on the endless daily violations??
Does LA, or any other big city where this happens, have the manpower to do this? No.
That motorcycle is more likely will be destroyed by the city
They won't destroy it when they can sell it at an auction.
You wonder why response times are so slow? Seven cops standing around one dirt bike, when they could be proactive on other issues.
Monster of a bike❤❤
WOW all the officers seem to be oblivious to what it is
If "they" receive that "Reparation Check" it's only going to get worse.
Lol, as if they're paying for them.
Nice bike, i would like to own one
Dirt bikes and ATVs, too. Because lots of city people (men) across the US don't have a license or don't have money for a car and insurance or just don't care about laws. Big in my state (Philly), too. Sad.
That bike is huge
As they have off road police vehicles on the road in the backdrop
Wheres the license plate on that polaris sir?
Thank you. Please increase the penalty for operating ATVs and off-road vehicles on paved roads.
Don't touch it you'll burn your fingers
That's one big motor bike lol 😂
They allow those jet bikes or what ever you call them in Arizona. I think they should have never been allowed on the streets. There's one other thing that motorcycle riders do is ride up on the white line in between cars.,Instead of being in line with cars they think they can pull up in between at stop lights or stop signs. Or just going down the street zooming around you.which can scare you and end up hitting some one. Law is too lenient motor cyclist.
Wrong tires for city streets no traction
Clean ...🏁🏁that thing's got tobe stolen
What happened in front of the mall? There was a much bigger police scene in front of Santa Monica Place.
Take the bike to a crusher.
*Probably stolen...*
*Two million dollars of salary and benefits standing around fawning over a motorcycle.* 0:51
They're just teenagers having fun I seen them earlier, 5 or 6 white kids riding down Lincoln.
Bs that's obviously a black guys bike...polished swing arm and frame! White dudes don't do that.
Having fun? "They" need to stick to their own neighborhoods to cause trouble. You think it's fun until they crash into you & your screwed with paying the damage out of your pocket.
@@2004DodgeNeon shit happens
@@2004DodgeNeonSo true. It's not like dirt bikes are insured for comp & collision.
