I owned a 2023 Chevy custom l5p. I loved the power and the space. Just traded it on Saturday for a 3500 srw Laramie. The ram is so much more comfortable feels a little slower but not very noticeable yet. Actually feel like it rides better even against the Chevy and it doesn’t have air ride. All around a much nicer truck but my Chevy was bottom of the line practically. I honestly feel the 68rfe could use maybe 1 more gear but it doesn’t need a 10 speed.
I agree. If they could do maybe a heavy-dutt 8spd, that would allow the Cummins to make better use of its power. It doesn't need a 10spd, just like 1/2 tons ZF8 trans leave nothing to the Ford and GM 10spds.
I am so glad I bought my 2020 Ram new back before all the increases! And after watching your videos when you worked at the dealership helped me decide on what I wanted. I now only wish I got the level 2 electronic package with the lane assist, better sound, etc.
I think they both have their merits. Obviously Ford has the power, larger cab, etc and it definitely seems to be a slightly better buy $/feature. For Ram, it is all about the Cummins(and no worry on CP4 issues on '22 and up trucks), excellent towing ability(3500), and a few neat class exclusive features. Ram will not raise the GVWR on such an old design, so it doesnt bother me and if towing and payload are really needed daily, I'd skip straight to the 3500 which is still highly competitive with F350s and GM 3500s. Yes, the Ram is expensive but it is the only one of the Big 3 where you could potentially save $8K+ off of the sticker right now. Ram is bloated with trucks right now and buyers are demanding newer designs from GM and Ford. So if you dont need the latest and newest, I'd check Ram out.
They say if you get the ford diesel you better use that fuel conditioner and drain the valve in back to make sure no water in your fuel, crazy to think you can be getting water at a fuel stop, or pay $1500 to do the fuel bypass to protect pump, bypass ccv filter and replace cold intake to turbo
I want ram to be better so bad!! Need to add more gears and a rear locker on the mega cab would also be cool!! And better payload is a must. They are just falling behind 🤦🏽♂️
Im loving my 2023 f350. I don't miss my 21 ram 3500 Laramie ho night addition at all. I'm getting way better mileage, bigger cab, bed, Def tank, pano sun roof. Engine break is on par with ram. Ride is way better. The 10 speed is awesome. I like how ford uses the whole screen for cameras and that the camera automatically come on one the sensor is tripped like when I'm pulling into my garage. I wish the ford had thr digital review mirror. I like how ford gives buttons so you don't have to go through the screen for everything. Ford lariat ultimate loaded was 7k cheaper than the same Laramie level 2. I loving the f350 from Larry H miller ford in UT there.
The Ram certainly looks better. Ford has the best tow mirrors hands down- they're stable, large/great visibility and don't look chincy like the others.
Looking at them side by side, Ford really took a step back on their front end design. I've seen them out on the road and I am not a fan. Overall, the Ford is a better truck and "value" right now.
As a RAM guy, I'd go with the Ford all day! Having a 10 speed auto and 1200 lb ft of torque, it's a no brainier!! Great video JB!! Definitely one of your best. How Chrysler can justify the price on their HD trucks is mind boggling!! Do your research folks!
Good point, brand loyalty is foolish and I’m glad I jumped shipped but if RAM does something big, i hope it doesn’t increase the price anymore than it already has 😅
@@JB_WhoWorkit will. I don't believe for a second we'll see any price drop at all on new vehicles, especially trucks. And now the strike? People waiting for MSRPs to be not insane again will be waiting forever.
Honestly, I could go either way on the looks but RAM wants 4000 more dollars for so much less. And RAM doesn’t even offer the high output but if they did, it would be almost $97,000. 💪🇺🇸
Yeah, again, even with a 5/10 year old overall design Ram would still be competitive if they came in at or under the Fords and GMs but they're always way over for less features and less power. Don't make no sense.
Thanks bro! I’ve been looking but most of the trucks are within the last 3 years and not really worth doing a video on. I’m sure some more trucks will pop up soon 👍🏾👍🏾
Really don't like the sport look on the Ford. Even the black appearance isn't great (though that's mostly because of the stupid rotary phone dial wheels). Chrome is the way to go on the new Fords. And after having a Night Edition 1500 for 2 years, I'm pretty much over the blacked out look.
I guess I became a GM Fanboy too! I bought a 2024 LTZ that has quite a few options, and it was more than enough truck for Me, and had so many little things over the Ram, for basically the same price. Leather bucket seats, longer bed, larger fuel and def tank, adaptive cruise control, more HP, 10 speed transmission, etc. etc. Ram is putting waaaaaaaaaaay too much stock in Their Cummins motors, and exhaust brake. They’re just not worth the price to Me!@@JB_WhoWork
Now this is the type of content we subbed for!
Thanks!

They started putting the sensors on the plastic to keep the bumpers from rusting around the sensor spots for people up north.
Good point!

Good stuff!
right now a bighorn ram diesel 2500 66k not really that terrible im thinking of getting one

Hopefully 2025 will be like 2019 👀
Nah the 6 gears are simple and with great during hard work. Why mess with it

How does the exhaust brake compare to your old Ram?
That really was a perfect build too!
The Ram certainly looks better. Ford has the best tow mirrors hands down- they're stable, large/great visibility and don't look chincy like the others.
💯
Great video, I love the Sports look
Good video! The Ford wins for me.
Thanks bro!

I hate to say it but the 2022 Super Duty still is my favorite especially the Tremor with those wheels 🔥
@@JB_WhoWork agreed. I'm sticking with my 21 F350.

It’s a hard truth but you’re right!
Nice- but wish that Dodge was washed clean to see the lines better.
Another great video. Are you still going to do more of those used truck video? I'd like to see that 2020 f150 stx in the background. 😆

@JB_WhoWork fasho brutha. Keep em going. You doing a great job on all these trucks. Makes me wanna trade in my 1500 for a 3500hd.
Come On JB Bro,Ford hands dwn!!
2000watt in the bed is nice! Ram with no flares and a short bed is definitely not good.
💯
🔥
Where can I find that ford?
The only thing nice about the Ram in the front look.
I really like the Ram interior but they are falling far behind in every other category. They know this and I bet they have a home run coming soon.
2025
Rams cab is 15 years old 🤯

Blackout will become the new chrome at some point
@@JB_WhoWorkI'm still confused as to why nearly all the off-road oriented trucks/trims/packages come with painted bumpers 🤣
2083lbs of payload for a Hemi equipped model? That should be closer to 3k lbs.
This one had the standard-output Cummins.
Ahh. Ok.
Thanks!
I guess ram doesn't want my business
Ram lost Me as a customer this year. Too little truck for too much money!
2025 should be RAM’s comeback year
