I think shes beautiful I think this year car looks good 2 and 4 doors and the interior with that color you picked is perfect. Cant wait to see her dance. And thanks for sharing.
Hi JR, I’d like to share something you may have found out but. The 1950 Buick Special is the only Buick Special in the 1950’s that shares the same dashboard as the Super and Roadmaster, and it’s the only Special that has rear fenders. That alone makes the 50 Special very special. The 51 and 52 Specials have their own style dashboard, and are unibody construction. No rear fenders.
@ajcaiati hey, yeah absolutely, thanks for sharing. I didn't know about the dash. I was aware of the rear fenders. My buick got rear-ended a year and a half ago and it was a bit of a pain to track down a rear fender and trunk. All the 50 buick sedanette rear panels are unique to it. A 50 olds 98 sedannete has similar trunk but its still different fenders and body lines are all changed. Olds 88 is chevy sized and smaller. Thanks for watching and for the info!
So i have a bit of a different setup.. the stock 51 Buick has a torque tube. that may give you issues leaking trans fluid when using an air ride. i have a buddy who is set up that way, my 60 leaks all the time with a static 2" drop.. My 50 is an open driveline (no dynaflow no torque tube) it has c10 trailing arms and a ford 9inch rear. its frame notched so the car can go all the way to the ground. and has a mustang ii front end which also allows more articulation.. i don't know how low you can go on a stock chassis but my buddy james has his done with stock and gets pretty low but i dont think it lays frame. .www.x2industries.com/ makes a "plug and play kit" not sure what is involved but sounds reasonable! :)
@@inkandpistons Thank you so much. I'm doing the research at the moment so I don't have issues later or have to redo anything later. Laying on the ground is cool but I'd be ok with an inch or 2 off the ground. Or 3 or 4 lol. Those little tourqe tubes will present a problem though for sure. But the look of the car is worth it.
@@jtmotoman yeah depending on how handy at fabricating you are it may be worth opening the driveline. even if you aren't looking to hammer it to the floor.. I have a guy down here in So Fl that does all my air ride, but it may be worth asking around to some shops in your area that do that type of work. My frame is on the ground but the body isn't channeled so there is usually a gap . I made up the difference by putting the lake pipes on the ground and fabricating the mounts around where they sit when its laid out. Its also not the worth mentioning if you have an air hose blow out or leak the car will sink to the floor and is immovable until the repair is made.,ask me how I know...(good luck getting a tow truck under there) so maybe a frame on ground isn't ideal.
@@inkandpistons My son's 370 is on bags and it sits on the ground when he airs out. I'm not terrible with fabricating. I'm a mechanic by trade so no stranger to tools. Been wrenching on sport bikes for 30 years on the side as well. So I think I can manage. I also know some bad ass welders to back me up. I'd kinda like to keep the straight 8 though. Runs and drives so the only thing I may do is a 12 volt conversion. (Found a complete kit for that) and run it till it dies. When that happens, maybe do a LS (don't hate) lol. Thanks for the knowledge.
@@jtmotoman oh yeah, so you got that then it's not that conplex.. I'm always afraid of my welding skills... No hate on the LS it's one of the best platforms.. in fact I'm about to drop a video where I install a holly sniper efi on my nailhead! The blasphemy! 😂 LOL
WOW-!!--I know its 3 years ago,-but that "upholstery-job"-is beyond "Stunning"--just suits that car to a 'Tee"--!!
@@johncaldwell-wq1hp thanks man.. yeah my buddy Anthony knocked it out..
