The mics clipped out abit in this ep apologies! We were pumped and cranked the dials a bit much 🤣 Enjoy the episode and comment your Eels, Panthers, Tigers & Bulldogs Questions for our team previews starting Thursday 🔥
How's it going lads, two questions I've got one on the Panthers cause that's my team and one on the tigers. 1st question is, do you reckon Nathan Cleary has a bit more pressure on him to lead the team around the park now that luai is gone, and my question about the tigers is, who do you think will be under the most pressure at the tigers either in the coaching staff or the playing group
Do you guys think the amount of change at the eels could have an immediate impact for the better with a new driven young coach, Moses coming off his best career year yet and a few critical changes to the roster? With so much being so stagnant there for so long do you think this might kick the playing group up the butt a little bit. Or will it take them a few years to see some movement up the ladder and the playing group lift. Attitude seemed like such an issue the past two years.
Love your work boys! Tigers Question for next week: For Luai to retain his origin jersey, where do the tigers need to be coming on the ladder at the time of origin selection? Or will he keep his spot regardless?
Do you think Wests/Eels are trying to take the Penrith approach to building success? If so, do you think it can work? I feel like a lot of clubs will try to clone the Penrith system, but all because it worked at Penrith doesn’t mean anyone and everyone can do it. Backing that up, between the two who do you think will see success in their new systems earlier?
Love the show boys! Long time listener, first time poster. Thoughts on Junior Paulo this year? He seems to be forgotten in regard to being one of Parra’s potential weapons. Injury ended his 2024 early, but looking at his physique in the pre-season, he looks to be in career best condition. I think Parra are going to adopt a fast playing style hence the weight cut. With his silky skills and offloading ability, he’ll come into his own. ✌🏽
Mase's use of the word "bull" all last year describing the tough blokes in NRL, now culminates with a Red Bull sponsorship, looking forward to The Red Bull "Bull of the week" haha
Surly the boys will discuss Ezra. Spencer gets 8 weeks for calling Ezra a monkey and Ezra gets 1 more week for putting people in hospital including a child while high on a white substance
Firstly, do you know if the full details of both incidents have been publicly clarified? Accountability is important, but so is understanding the context. And secondly, do you really want to discuss drama, you little drama queen?
@@BigSnapperWell it was clarified in a court of law and he plead guilty in regards to Ezra’s incident. Spencer also apologised and said he did say it so what’s this clarification you’re looking for?
The boys have said in previous podcasts that they don't really wanna talk about off field incidents, especially those kinds. I think everybody else has said everything that's needed to be said. Very messed up situation but gotta applaud these two for staying out of it
Good to see the levels boys back! Would love to see another trip over to NZ, are they boys coming over this year ? One thing I’ve liked about this pod, which has followed throughout the seasons, is feeling like everyone is apart of the footy community. What i mean by that is when you talk about the teams or players or fans, it’s in a way where they could live on the same street or be neighbours. A real down to earth camaraderie.
Boys, I just want to say that as a pom who has fallen in love with the NRL over the past couple of years, your show has become one of the highlights of my week. When you're overseas you can watch as many games as you like but listening to you two chat about the sport has given me so much insight into what the game broadcasts don't, as well as the history and culture associated with the game. Keep doing you, you're smashing it.
The thing I love about hearing that Leo Thompson is coming to the doggies is Mase (Willie Mason), Jacko (Josh Jackson), Ogre (Mark O’meley), Ciro (Cameron Ciraldo) and Gus (Phil Gould) is at our club to help shape him into one of the leagues premier front rowers/leaders. He’s also got that connection with Fish in the Māori all stars and Kiwis team. So it’s all up to him now to buy in to the doggies system and work his backside off and we’ll get that Chip! It’s also a great signing to lure other great front rowers to Belmore to partner up with him
@@trent8730 Yeah brother, type of stuff that makes you wanna eat concrete before you run on the field lol Oh I also forgot Jammer (James Graham) is at the club too to help Leo Thompson and the other forwards/potential forwards to come to Belmore too. Imagine having the footy IQ Mase has got, the work ethic Jacko has got, the ticka that Ogre has got, the defensive mindset Ciro has got, the mongrel that Jammer has got and the wisdom Gus has got to all help shape and mould our future forward packs!?
Love the podcast boys! Just a thought, it would be helpful putting up pictures of the players you're talking about so that new NRL fans like myself can start to learn more of the players (you could even show some short clips of the players in action while having a discussion about them). Can't wait for future podcasts. GO MANLY!

You cannot understand the level of excitement I had when seeing that Levels have put up a new 2025 podcast. Was at the gym and looking for something to listen to and wham....a new post..boom...triple OG going off with f...bombs....life is great again.
Great to have the boys back online 🔥 NFL playoffs (Fly Eagles Fly) & NRL around the corner! How good 🌿 Got 15 of the finest coming over from NZ for Magic Round so bring on the Red Bull Haka 😝
Love the chat on the back of the PNG team with the older players going there but definitely good for young players coming through who are keen but might not get a chance else where while making some good money.
Love to hear the passion back on the airwaves boys. Question about key man risk - now that Luai’s gone do the Panthers have massive key man risk with Cleary? He’s missed a lot of time in recent years and now he has to carry more of the load, do the Panthers fall off this year if he picks up an injury and finish outside the top 4? Warriors and Broncos had it last year with SJ and Reynolds, Manly could easily have it if either DCE or Turbo get injured too. Then Cleary will come right about round 22 and then Penrith somehow pull off another title…
Good question James, over the last 5 years Cleary has been injury prone. The closest situation to your question was when Cogger came into the club while Luai had niggles and was not 100%. We saw Yeo & Edwards work the passing lanes more and attack the gaps. The kicking game is what suffered the most. Thankfully this happens every year so its not an unknown more of a plan Panthers have to address every year. The other teams mentioned rely heavy on those players and we have seen when they encounter an injury there is no good plan B. JMO
This is hands down the best Rugby league podcast around! Great content, Hoz is awesome and Mase is next level. Remember, from little things big things grow! Keep it up fellas! 💪😎
Let's goooo I'm sure i ain't the only one but it was so bloody good to hear from you guys 🎉 pumped af for this season and another year of the best poddy out 🎉
Question?: you can see how good the bulldogs junior reps teams are mens/women's by looking at the ladder in all competitions they are in top 4 for every single comp, what do yous reckon?
Good to see you boys back! I'm a bit disappointed that nines comp is on kayo, most people have cancelled their subscriptions at this point. I have cancelled and waiting for the nrl season to start
You two were just taking in a rugby league a lesson, as was myself from a master .... no need to say much. Can't agree more with the comment "if you do not like Gus you don't know footy" Fantastic content boys ..... good luck for the coming season.
Great to see you back fellas! Question: The Dogs improved massively last year due to their work rate and defensive improvements. What do you see as the next step of their progression? Or is it just more of the same with familiarity of the system and a stronger start that could make all the difference.
Need to have a conversation about south’s, with the Influence of Wayne Bennett coaching the team, everyone back fully healthy, trellmit looking fit as he has and locked in, big keon looks like he’s shredded 5kgs, and the last one for me is having Campbell graham back on the deck, if south’s can get off to a good start and keep it up where do you think they should finish on the ladder this szn
Hey fellas love the show L1D1 missed you guys heaps in the off season love having you back in my podcast cycle. I like the idea of the interviews but could you save them and maybe clip up a few best of pods for the offseason?? Thanks guys
Welcome back fellas, my afternoon drives haven't been the same without you lot! Question for the poddy, do you think the Bulldogs can be a genuine premiership threat over the next 3 to 4 years and break their title drought, what with the addition and emergence of so many quality players? Or will Penrith and Melbourne, with their established and dominate sporting cultures, continue to be the two top DAWGS and just go back and forth with the trophy until the end of time? Cheers boys.
Skipper scope, triple OG mase love the poddy, haven’t missed an episode. As a long suffering eels fan I’m very optimistic heading into this season. Just wanna give a shout out to ryles and the eels team and staff. Pre Christmas they held an open training session on a pretty miserable day. After there training session every player and ryles himself made their way around to every fan there (100-200 people) to have a chat, sign things and take photos etc. You couldn’t wipe the smile off my 10yr old son’s face and he still talks about it to this day. Few observations from it. - junior looking the fittest I’ve ever seen him could be in for big year - dark horse for hooker role Riley smith former panthers junior who’s been killing all pre season ( was very impressive on that day) and from what I’ve heard broke gutho’s bronco record from years ago - Ryles attention to detail in his coaching especially defensive drills was very impressive. Apologies for long message but just wanted to give eels players and staff a shout out. Love the work boys keep it up.
Question for the Western Teams podcast. I can see the top 8 having a real shake up this 2025 season and a lot of people are saying the bulldogs are going to be better than last year. Scope, can you play devils advocate and tell us why the bulldogs may find it tougher than we think? And bonus question - Mase can you list all the teams the Tigers COULD beat this year? They have a good record against Panthers so let’s start there. Glad you guys are back 🎉
Willie you are absolutely spot on about letting the guest talk. That's why the Gus podcast was so good, you guys let him talk Mark Bouris gets some great guests but can't help interjecting and talking , I'm not interested in Mark Bouris I'm interested in the guest
Hey lads love the poddy, can’t wait for the season to start. The whole chat around PNG has got me thinking. How would a relegation system work in the NRL?
Boys are back! Listen when we talk about the Panthers on Thurs. Instead of talking about the team they could form with what they have lost (which would be a top 4 team) Lets talk about how they have adapted and gone on to win when everyone counts them out....every year. Here in the states we have a saying in the NFL. Defense wins championships. Why can't other teams match their defensive tenacity? This has gone on for 5 years and shows little sign of stopping. If I can stop you every set why do I need to score 30+ plus points all I need is 6.
Q : Do you think there needs to be an overhaul with the way players can sign with another club for the following year, but still have to see out upcoming season with current club? Ie. Leo Thompson? As former players, would you say it'd impact effort/desire that you'd be putting in for a club knowing you're off the following year?
Hot take, If Jarome Luai takes the tigers to the premier ship and wins the Clive Churchill he will become the greatest player of all time with 5 champions ships on his belt and breaking the tigers finals curse
Just a reminder to everyone that the panthers have got a dally M second rower of the year… not sure how ipap doesn’t get spoken about it’s like everyone’s forgot the 4x champs have gotten better up front
Hey boys, loving the podcast and only appropriate as a doggies fan to a doggies question. With a lot of talk around Mitchell Woods being a major part of the bulldogs future, how should the club best integrate him into first grade to support his development while also generating and maintaining results to be a genuine premiership threat. What are some challenges young players face today that only people within clubs see?
Hey levels team , L1day1 listner here welcome back to poddy for 25. The Gus pod was your best by far because of the respect that you both have for Gus . I believe when you guys do these podcast in the future its about quality not quantity eg one or two no more than that. Stick to the formula that works for you guys 2 pocast a week. Maybe when bye roundsare on stick one in and then end of season. Thanks for great listen Will eelstragic from Cooroy Qld
Hey lads - Great to hear big Lukey on the mic last ep. With the theme of being Western Sydney, and the two teams gun Five - Eighths being Lachlan Galvin and Blaze Talaigi. If you had to choose to be in one of these players boots right now who would you choose? The quick answer is Blaze with the Penrith Panthers, but do you think that he may become more of a “team player” and in the shadows, he will be second fiddle to Nathan Cleary. Where Galvin is more creating a bigger name for himself in a worse club. I’m keen to hear your thoughts. L1Day1
Question, How do you think the NRL can utilise the NFL terminology in the promotion of the games in Vegas to attract more of the U.S audience and do you think it would impact the promotion of the game in U.S if implemented? for example using “downs” instead of “tackles” so 1st down to 5th down and then they know that on 5th down you kick or you go for the “touchdown” instead of “try” and that every pass is a “lateral” pass as that what it’s called in gridiron, etc etc etc.
As a Storm supporter, spewing to lose Anderson, but can't blame him for wanting out. Bloke plays anywhere from 2-7 at a first grade level, any injury you have an NRL level replacement waiting in the wings, but he's ready for a starting spot somewhere. He's another Nick Meaney for our list
Why does NAS never get any respect when podcasters are talking about the best front rowers? He sets up more plays and is more damaging than everyone else.
Boyz, big fan of the show! Question: Interested to know your thoughts on Tonga’s halfback dilemma? With Tesi Niu linking up with the leopards overseas this year, would he be a viable option for full back? Allowing hop to go into the half and support katoa moving forward? Niu showed some sparks in the World Cup at full back previously? 🇹🇴🇹🇴 Big fan of the poddy! Keep em coming!
I'm a raiders fan so maybe just a bias view... but I don't understand why there is no chat around what a great job Ricky and the recruitment team are doing. Having the balls to go all in on locking up all the best young talent around the country they can, and not chasing players on their way out. It feels like all the other mediocre form club year after year do the same thing just trying to jag the odd experienced player wherever they can. I just love to see they have a clear plan that isn't the norm and they seem to be sticking to it. Am I just a bias raider dreaming we're doing something different in hopes of a prem but its just no one wants to go to Canberra... or is their recruitment truly a bit of a gamble and potentially a masterstroke? Love the poddy boys keep it up! See you at Tugan 9's.
How do you see luai playing this year? At penrith as a 6 (with nath healthy) he plays second fiddle and runs his left edge when its on etc, when he played 7 he took charge and really cemented himself as one of the elite halves in the comp, but at penrith he was surrounded by world class players in one of the best systems we’ve seen in the nrl era. At the tigers he seemingly has to be that guy to lead the team and lead the culture they want to build from day 1. Do you forsee him hitting the ground running or will it take them 5-6 rounds to click with all these new signings and only 1 preseason together so far? Bare in mind they have knights/parra/phins and wahs to begin the year which are all winnable for them, would love your thoughts JR 💙
Hello, gentlemen. I’d like to ask for your thoughts on the proposed trade window. I’ve noticed a lot of enthusiasm surrounding this idea, but I find myself opposed to it. In my view, the rugby league media plays a vital role in keeping the game alive, with year-round discussions about player transfers helping to maintain interest and engagement. The game is thriving more than ever, and I believe this is largely due to the influence of media, podcasts, and social media. Without the ongoing speculation and whispers about player movements, I fear the game may feel too stagnant during certain periods of the year. I’m curious to know where you all stand on this issue-what are your perspectives?
Question about the Eels. I believe the Eels squad is not strong enough to make top 8. The halves of Moses and Brown are outstanding (granted brown stays, which I don’t see him). But outside of that. Their back 5 and middles are not threatening compared to other top teams. Gutho and RCG are a massive lost. How do you think Jason Ryles will change the dynamic of Parra, what does he add that’s new that could make them a top 8 team or is 2025 testing of the waters etc. Love the signing of Ryle’s interested to hear you boys discuss
happy to have the boys back, weeks have been lonely without my two broski’s triple og and big scope, what i want to know from the boys, if you were in the nrl head office or part of the nrl promotions, what would yous do to make the nrl bigger as a whole, would you do it like nfl and promote nationally and try make it bigger than afl here or worldwide and try make it bigger than union, love to hear yourguys insight, up the levels, up the wahs and bring on that magic round haka, TARINGAAAA WHAKARONGOOOO😛
still leading the way for the golf day less go, got the handicap down to single figures over the xmas break as well. all the best for another sucsessfull yr with the poddy boys, best RL one there is. Fun suggestion for the yr, with you guys being the community based loved podcast you are why not try to create bandwagon support for 1 country team, give a weekly update of their weekend result and ladder position and try follow them all the way to a country premiership. Jimmy Maloney just signed to play for his jr club on the central coast could be a good shout,
I think Gould is great , but he needs to choose a side. It’s either media or the game. This game has to many swinging a leg either side of the fence. The media struggle to be bipartisan as it is without being employed by a club as well.
Question for og and horoscope what’s your guys thoughts on the way ryles has come in and made parra his own already eg letting the players know who he didn’t want and did want.
Questions for Thursday pod. Bulldogs: after watching cowboys & warriors go from 15th to top 4 then out the top 8 the year after. Is there a worry it will happen to this year's dogs? Or is ciro ahead of the game? Penrith: losing players finally takes it toll on them? I think with all the loses and injuries naths had over the past few years they'll land in the 6th-10th range. Parra: will be the best games to watch every week. I think with they're team they'll score 40 but let 40 in. Take the total points over all year! Wests: With the signings good pack, solid backline only issue is coaching (which i think Jarome and the penrith boys help with) They'll be 3rd-9th and just like dogs were everyone's 2nd team last year this year it'd be West's.
Hey legends, the question in the back of everyone’s mind before the season starts is - will 2025 be the year that Penrith are dethroned? Will we see another mid-season injury that culminates in a surge towards the finals or will the loss of star players in Fish, Luai and Turuva. With decent recruitment and emergence of new young talent in the Panthers, will a slightly new looking side be enough to remain an strong contender for 2025?
I agree with Willie, if teams dont have those big Alpha dawgs in the middle smashing runners then you wont win the big games. I think thats why the Dragons havent made it to the top 8 finals last few years. No team is scared of their forwards/props. Who would you sign for Dragons 2026 as a scary Alpha dawg for the middle?
For Thursday regarding the Dogs, where do you boys see them sitting this year? As a Dogs fan I’m optimistic but there have been several comprehensive recent examples of teams suffering that second season syndrome (Cows, Wahs). Are there are factors of the playing group/playing style that could mitigate a similar drop off? Also on the Dogs, this one more directed at Mase. Can you provide any insight on whether the likes of Joash Papalii, Fanafou Seve, and Jordan Samrani pushed to leave or were allowed to? All three seem like first grade players, and with Seve he’s the kind of prop who would be massive for us in the future Cheers
Question? Do you Believe Tom Amone will Be a starter this year? for Bulldogs i think he offers more then both our starting props? Do you guys Believe The bulldogs will rotate to the smaller mobile middles? or is that out of the window?
does Dylan brown look more appealing cause you won't lose him threw the origin period ? I’m Thinking it would be a good strategy for the rooster just like Melbourne have
Lukey's got a face. OG dropping the C bomb yes boys yes. Good to see your back boys. Scope are you boys running a Levels super coach fantasy league this year?? Scope have you heard the rumour that the roosters will offer Lachlan Galvin a massive offer November 1st, 5 year deal. Galvin has stopped negotiations with the west tigers, I asked Corey Parker on SEN radio and he confirmed he has heard this going around. 2026 spine walker, Galvin , Robson what are your thoughts on this spine ???
Lmao Mason still on holidays with his comment about eels backline. Yes rookie FB but aren't all FB rookies at one stage lol lomax, penisni centres is nothing to roll your eyes at and the fox and simmonson on the wing isn better than what we had last 2 years. Moses and Brown come on.

Let’s go 25 Raiders round3 nice one lads n pody 4:39
Hey fellas love the show L1D1 missed you guys heaps in the off season love having you back in my podcast cycle. I like the idea of the interviews but could you save them and maybe clip up a few best of pods for the offseason??
Thanks guys
The chillest league poddy back 🔥
Welcome back fellas, my afternoon drives haven't been the same without you lot!
As a Melbourne fan every team comes back to the pack eventually and I new team emerges bulldogs are primed to be that team
- junior looking the fittest I’ve ever seen him could be in for big year
- dark horse for hooker role Riley smith former panthers junior who’s been killing all pre season ( was very impressive on that day) and from what I’ve heard broke gutho’s bronco record from years ago
- Ryles attention to detail in his coaching especially defensive drills was very impressive.
Apologies for long message but just wanted to give eels players and staff a shout out.
Love the work boys keep it up.
pick which way kent 🤣🤣🤣
Hey boys great to have you back
Question for the Western Teams podcast. Glad you guys are back 🎉
Missed you lads so much
My morning poop has some spring in it’s step this morning already, and I know my ASICS will too.
YEEEEEW
Willie you are absolutely spot on about letting the guest talk.
That's why the Gus podcast was so good, you guys let him talk
Mark Bouris gets some great guests but can't help interjecting and talking , I'm not interested in Mark Bouris I'm interested in the guest
Alrighty! The boys are BACK!! Happy 2025 Levels🎉🙌
Happy New year boyz 😎😎 Up the fkn wahs!!! It's our year!! Again....😂😂🫡🫡
Thus year is ahh year
Finally the lads are back!
Watch Stefano at storm train in he was on point
Storm fan here I'm picking harry grant to have a big year
Nah fuck all 🍞 kicking back with the levels boys and that 🍞
Day one levels right here
Letssss ogggggg
Q : Do you think there needs to be an overhaul with the way players can sign with another club for the following year, but still have to see out upcoming season with current club? Ie. Leo Thompson?
As former players, would you say it'd impact effort/desire that you'd be putting in for a club knowing you're off the following year?
Hot take, If Jarome Luai takes the tigers to the premier ship and wins the Clive Churchill he will become the greatest player of all time with 5 champions ships on his belt and breaking the tigers finals curse
Need to play 1 game first for the Tigers.
Looong season ahead for sure.
Just a reminder to everyone that the panthers have got a dally M second rower of the year… not sure how ipap doesn’t get spoken about it’s like everyone’s forgot the 4x champs have gotten better up front
Welcome Back Gents!
Scope any plans for a paid membership option now that you've hit 30k? Would be good to support the channel for more content.
Thanks bro! No plans for subscriptions but definitely more content and even merch this season for the L1's to get behind :)
@levelsnetwork Cheers mate looking forward to the year ahead.
Ive got my hoodie from first season. Still really good condition. Can’t wait for this season!
I swear if he played more minutes and maybe was a starter then he'd get talked about more. Even as a back rower man is scary 😂
Big fan of the poddy!
Bare in mind they have knights/parra/phins and wahs to begin the year which are all winnable for them, would love your thoughts
JR 💙
Enjoy 2025 Boyz, looking forward to next level. Wayne an Craig will be an awesome show also.
Would be elite if you boys managed to get Wayne on Levels
Question, How well do you think galvin and luai will go in the halves together? Can it unlock api and bula and the tigers attack?
Jimmy Maloney just signed to play for his jr club on the central coast could be a good shout,
Questions gotta be on point this year then 😂
I think Gould is great , but he needs to choose a side. It’s either media or the game.
This game has to many swinging a leg either side of the fence.
The media struggle to be bipartisan as it is without being employed by a club as well.
Levels is back Baby
Wests: With the signings good pack, solid backline only issue is coaching (which i think Jarome and the penrith boys help with)
They'll be 3rd-9th and just like dogs were everyone's 2nd team last year this year it'd be West's.
Love the nfl, fills in the nrl off-season
All three seem like first grade players, and with Seve he’s the kind of prop who would be massive for us in the future
Cheers
Question? Do you Believe Tom Amone will Be a starter this year? for Bulldogs i think he offers more then both our starting props?
Do you guys Believe The bulldogs will rotate to the smaller mobile middles? or is that out of the window?
Realistically where do you think Parra will finish in 25? New coach and a somewhat stronger backline to play with Moses. Can they crack a top 4 spot?
does Dylan brown look more appealing cause you won't lose him threw the origin period ? I’m
Thinking it would be a good strategy for the rooster just like Melbourne have
It's Hard can AFB play with others?
The legacy team has all only just retired and they are balanced, they are going to beat these teams by pretty big margins.
Munster and DCE the 2 players?? 👀👀
What if DCE retires and Dylan goes and plays 7 and Luke stays a 6
The Wahs have the Salary cap for Dylan Brown
Lukey's got a face. OG dropping the C bomb yes boys yes. Good to see your back boys. Scope are you boys running a Levels super coach fantasy league this year?? Scope have you heard the rumour that the roosters will offer Lachlan Galvin a massive offer November 1st, 5 year deal. Galvin has stopped negotiations with the west tigers, I asked Corey Parker on SEN radio and he confirmed he has heard this going around. 2026 spine walker, Galvin , Robson what are your thoughts on this spine ???
ahahah bro i've seen a bunch of ppl with it lately - is the BOWL cut coming back WOOooOOooiiiii
Reyno will be back for round 1
Luki is freeeeeee. Haha
Surely skip is gonna start signing off text messages with JH or the ©️
Lmao Mason still on holidays with his comment about eels backline. Yes rookie FB but aren't all FB rookies at one stage lol lomax, penisni centres is nothing to roll your eyes at and the fox and simmonson on the wing isn better than what we had last 2 years. Moses and Brown come on.
mitch moses 2025 dally m year
Yall sleeping on Terrell May. He's gana rip this year.
🚨🚨🚨Mason talking too much again. Bring Gus back!!! Or replace him with Lukey 😂
Fox back round 3 lads
He’s off to the roosters , thank me later
Fozz and chezz
Big Willie sleeping on Amon ra
