Who is the real Jaya? Called the Philippines' "Soul Diva", María Luisa Ramsey, known professionally as "Jaya", is a Filipino soul singer, rapper, record producer, actress, dancer and presenter of mixed Jamaican and Visayan descent. Aside from having been a back-up singer for the legendary icon Stevie Wonder during his prime, Jaya's hit US single "If You Leave Me Now" from her first album JAYA (1989), entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart in October 1989 and eventually peaked at #44 in February 1990 and remained in the Top 100 pop singles chart for 26 weeks. Jaya - If You Leave Me Now Lyrics | 1989 Billboard Hits ruclips.net/video/PCIz-dRNYGo/видео.html . Her voice has a remarkable wide range - from lirico-spinto soprano to "contralto", the deepest, darkest, and heaviest alto voice, usually having a heavier tone and more power than the others. Singers in this class are rare. Jaya's musical pedigree comes from her mother Elizabeth Ramsey who had colorful performances for decades, doing front acts for the biggest names in the musical industry at the Las Vegas Strip with the likes of Harry Belafonte, Englebert Humperdink, and dozens of times with Sammy Davis Jr. who even told Elizabeth's manager Mr. Lee to "Take care of this jewel. She's worth her weight in gold".
You must have to check out kz performance on her concert singing "close to you" and you will see kz's hidden talent she can do a human saxophone doing by her lips.
I believe her name is pronounced jah-ya... she is classed the queen of soul, she has some duets with Jay R I think he goes by. They stayed in key better during the accapela intro and I’m sure I spelled that wrong.
The first lady beside KZ is Jaya.. Jaya is entitled as Asia's Queen of Soul and yes she really has a very wide vocal range in fact She can belt as high as A5 and I believe she can do higher than that.. She is one of the Pillars in the Music industry in the Philippines.. she is the best friend of Regine Velasquez (Check it to know her) and she has a powerful belt and can sustain that tone as long as 15-25 seconds.. She is insane

Thats JAZZ and R&B SOUL, BLUES, Combination and JAYA is the SOUL R&B Queen in the Philippines. JAYA is an ALL AROUND MUSICIAN. And thats a Mother and Daughter DUO like!!! MAJORITY of PHILIPPINE SINGERS are an ALLL AROUND KIND of MUSIC and they Grew UP TRAINING their VOICES of DIFFERRENT KIND of MUSIC!!!
JAYA, is a daughter of Philippines singer Elizabeth Ramesy, jaya is a former back up singer of beegees, when she comeback in the Philippines mid of 90's and become a famous singer she was called queen of souls
When KZ was a teen, she used to try to cover the usual diva type songs, but developed polyps on her vocal cords, which were operated on. This lowered her range, so she had to change her style. See the short video "KZ Tandingan meets Jessie J | Funny Moments |" (2min.43sec) where she talks about it.
I love that plummy chocolate tone from Jaya who is obviously a Contralto. And KZ is a mezzo so she has a selection high and low notes to play with. However it is not true that contraltos can't sing high. Many have upper extensions to sing Mezzo fach or, more rarely, Soprano, if they can achieve the high C. Cher can perform up to F6 for example

Please check out the KZ Tandingan performs "bagsakan" with Gloc-9 and Abra! they rap and it's dope. And also her concert "Supreme Concert" with Shontidope and Gloc-9. Super duper Lit! You can see her rap side. It's fantastic! I hope you do.😊 Thanks😉
Those runs are blues and jazzy notes. Such notes are not all in key because those notes really have some notes out of the progression but a wrong choice of note would sound off. Jaya used great blues and jazzy notes sir. She's not done an "out" note like what you have said in the end. It is blues and jazz. And those are the characteristics of such music.
My goodness, you have to expand your horizon. There are people in the world who would pronounce J as Y in fact, in latin, J is pronounced as Y sound. Bringing up the maid thing is unnecessary.
The first singer’s name is JAYA, pronounced JA as in JApan and YA is as is. She’s a mezzo soprano which is kinda rare voice, as they said. Coach, please react on the new original of KZ’s NAG-IISA NA NAMAN at Wish Bus that I know you’d enjoy reacting to it.
I think he already watch it before reacting to it Bro could you just have fun while reacting to it Instead you could make another video to tackle some of technicalities on how they interpret the song
Bro that's why he's called a vocal coach that's what they do they talk about the techniques and vocal range and all those other stuff why watch this vid of a vocal coach reacting to it if you want the ones that reacts while enjoying it then watch those vocal coach reactions are mostly to review and say about the techniques they use the vocal ranges what did you expect? 😑

Dont call him out for it. J is pronounced Y in latin and in many languages in Europe. It’s not because you are used to pronounce it “Dzay” you have to know that there are people would pronounce it as Y or H in the case of spanish. Nagmumukhang tanga lang..
Well not in this Case this is a Person's Name! And call the person by its proper name as a sign of respect and 1 more thing Jaya is a Filipino Artist not a latin artist, is that make sense!?

Did she really become a back up singer of bee gees? It is so surprising to learn.
I never knew that Jaya was a backup singer of BeeGees
KZ

She's actually the Asia's Diva of Souls. KZ is after her.

It's not out bro it's call.jazz
With the pronouncements of our 'J's', we don't pronounce it as Europeans do. It's like a G sound like from the word 'general' or 'register'

Jazz and blues never really on pitch. Singers on that genre rides the semitones a lot almost to the point of sounding out of pitch.
