John’s drumming on In My Time Of Dying is so complex and powerful, there’s nothing in this world like it. I’m so thankful that I was alive while he was to listen to him. And after.
I was at the infamous day on the green concert both days. Didn't know about the Friday incident till the next week but my girlfriend, later my wife, and I noticed the first show had much more energy but just thought the hot sunny Friday show wore them out. Imagine our surprise when we learned what happened.

That's because there was never enough Zeppelin footage captured and the limited film there is tends to focus on only two members of the band. It's a real shame as he was great to watch😢
Now do one of these for Barriemore Barlow. The drummer John Bonham himself has been quoted for saying was "the greatest rock drummer England ever produced."
I disagree, I actually think they all sound annoying and not like music whatsoever. A complete mess unless there is character and personality. The drumming fast for the sake of it is silly. Just like the guys who do scales super fast. It's gibberish.
Truthfully, I never really liked Bonham’s style. To use Keith Richards’ word, I always found it to be heavy-handed. Personally, I prefer drummers like Moon, Copeland, and Peart where there was a lot more going on than just bashing the drums as hard as you can (even with Moon’s own manic style, I always found that underneath all the flash there was a certain coherence to it).
Yes he was heavy handed indeed, mostly unnecessary at times. I can live without hearing Led Zeppelin and find it really weird he didn't liked jazz. But as a drummer myself I think his legacy is his groove - something he had naturally and could put on anything he played with ease. Pretty much every other drummer neglected (and still, to this day) that important aspect of time keeping.

A wiseman said once “John Bonham is the reason why people pick up drumsticks or throw them away”
Same for Page and Jones, they make it seem easy and then you attempt to play it
Aww, rest in peace to my favorite drummer.
❤❤❤❤John Bonham.....never too loud or heavy, just BONHAM . Gone but certainly NOT FORGOTTEN!!!!! RIP the greatest❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The greatest rock and roll drummer of all time…❤
No pretty average
@@frankieRandle87790/10 rage bait
He was on a whole other level back then!!!!
Still, If it could take it off the annoying triggers in all those modern metal recordings 😬🙄
He was playing Buddy Rich with a massive foot
He’s still the greatest by todays standards.
Long overdue video
Agreed
Best comment for far!
Yeah what took them so long?
The best drummer who ever lived
No way is Bonham the GOAT, not even top 10
@@frankieRandle8779name 10 drummers better with a straight face.
@@frankieRandle8779youre definitely under 40.
@@nickdogg7320 no I’m definitely not
@@frankieRandle8779Well there are probably quite a few drummers who would disagree with you..
Such a cool dude. Definitely my favorite drummer.

Insane how talented they were at such a young age. All self taught as well pretty much. New techniques.
Absolute bar setters. All 4 of them!
My # 1 favorite drummer 😊
one of the greats
Legend
Thanks, John.
RIP Bonzo
Bongo was a BEAST
Next episode about Keith Moon please he was awsome like Bonham in same generation
Even Pete Townshend thought that Moon was a shitty drummer.
John Bonham, the GOAT \m/
The Best that ever was John Bonham❤
Simply said simply the BEST
Bonzo is the greatest !!! Simply thunder on the kit. Still inspiring drummers today.
Legend Lives on 🔥🍺🥁
His entire career is unforgettable
Especially the part where he got really fat and had difficulty with his own parts because he was a chronic drunk.
ONLY 10?!?
The best
I've seen all of these . There is norhing new here . R.I.P. John Bonham 🥁

TSRTS, June 21st, 1977.
I guess you are not ready for this. But your kids are gonna love it.
Thank you John. We will never forget you.
It’s easy to see why he got the hate he did from his contemporaries. He was just so much damn better!
JOHN BONHAM…MR JOHN HENRY BONHAM…
5:09 father and son bonding moment
Ol' Bonzo was unique! Just keep him away from booze, and everything will be fine!
John Bonham. He, was not regular.
You never heard him speak much, but when I do, it seems like he should have a different voice. It just doesn't fit.
Did you really have to bring Soy Boy Howard into this?
Wtf is a “ soy boy”
@leddygee1896 - Yes, because Jason told a great John story on Howard’s show
Every drum solo by whoever it is, is epic actually.

@ Didn’t know he didn’t like Jazz. Yeah, that is pretty strange.
What a waste
He sounds alot like ....sir David saint hubbens..
BUNGUS
Well, he doesn't sound like a monster when he speaks anyway
These were heady times indeed. But in the end , we are all of us just silly apes with attitude. Which is kind of sad in retrospect. Great time tho...
Him palmer barriemor
There’s only ONE Beatles…
Then the rest..
Dude your statement is dumb The Beatles were done by 69
They didn’t want kids to hum or whistle their tunes like the Beatles; They had the kids banging the air drums and air guitars unlike the Beatles!
what a crappy documentary
PART VIKING, PART HIPPIE, PART GENIUS = TOTAL BEAST!!
