Same truck as my friend, and he only has 70k Miles with a clogged or dirty from soot dpf, I never deal with diesel anything so this regeneration deal is new to me.They should do something like this on gasoline engines to clean the cat converter,I will see if my Snap on D8 could complete this function.Nice truck..
Here's Part 1 of 3 for that Canyon: ruclips.net/video/lNattZKUFLw/видео.html Back in 2022 I didn't see much for the Silverado, so resources were scarce on RUclips. Good luck!
I'm using the Launch X431. I like it, but these get crazy expensive for subscriptions when the initial unlimited-car sub runs out! Now I'm not so happy paying hundreds per year for only 10 cars/features :-(
I have the same truck in the 2018 model and just had my service emission fluid system come on yesterday. I have a lower end Autel scanner and the one code that is failing is: $94 test failure. I have 66k miles driven. Any thoughts?
That's a strange code, but my hunch is your DEF system failed to pump the fluid from the storage tank. I had this issue around 60k mi. and the dealer couldn't figure it out so they replaced the whole DEF tank and pump system under warranty. That did surprise me they went that far, but these days everyone seems more impatient to investigate the real culprit. I wish I had the service manual to help you with test suggestions, but try to find a good resource to verify for tubing clogs and power/function from the pump. I bet the Chevy/GMC truck and other diesel forums can help if there's no RUclips related vids. Also, when I'm completely stumped, I've used Just Answer by picking a pro from their list/resumes and paying around $20 for a session where you perform certain tests and they give feedback. I wish I could help you better, but maybe something here will benefit. Good Luck!
There's a good chance, but since you should still be under the 5yr. warranty for that motor, I would let the dealer decide the next move. I've heard from others, they usually start with a service regen and see what "bakes off" and analyze each system for flow. Good luck!
@@1961suzieq Glad to help. Just take it to any Chevy dealer and they will perform the service regen. for you. They may also have other techniques to analyze your cats versus the other systems.

@@sliceoflife1821 use maf cleaner mass airflow cleaner you will be shocked how much soot is on it. The tip of the sensor will look like a small blue bulb when it's clean
Did you have a check engine light on which prompted you to change the dpf? Also, can that tool clear check engine lights and codes with the regen performed?
The most repetitive DTC (check engine light) code I received before this change was P1478 "Particulate Matter Sensor Temperature Circuit High Voltage". Yes, the Launch diagnostic tool (X431) can check and clear fault codes before or after service procedures similar to most diagnostic tools. Good Luck!
I bought mine from the Launch online store. Others like Amazon sell it also. Just be careful how much you are willing to pay for the subscription after your initial package expiration. I was stunned when they were asking for over $500/yr for the "all vehicles" option so I only bought a 2-year package for 10 vehicles/special features and that was still way too much (roughly $300). Good luck!
I'm using the Launch V431 V+ diagnostic tool. You can probably find a cheaper diagnostic that carries the service regen. function for your model, but just dive into the specs and call them if necessary to verify. Many of these companies are guilty of the dreaded OPUD, "Over Promise and Under Deliver". Good luck!
@@sliceoflife1821 don’t listen to that guy, look the manual regen has several functions that you can monitor to figure out where your problem is. As a matter of a fact when you take it to the dealer for certain issues they will start with the manual regen to monitor temperatures as they increase to ensure they are coming up uniform but that is a different story. The dpf is designed to be regen so many cycles in its life so the more it’s done the shorter the life will become so only do it when you need to. Thanks bud and I'm sure your D8 will easily handle this. Also, I agree with you on the gas cats. That would be sweet!
I just did it today with my d9 I’m sure you’re d8 can do it my boss has one and was able to do it on a 2018
No they certainly should not do something like this with gas engines.
Can you link the video of the gmc canyon you watched?

Hello did you do a video of the sensor that you replaced ? Thanks
Hi Scott. Sorry, I forgot, but I can make one tomorrow and post it quickly. Does that help?
