  • We head up to Pineview Reservoir towards Northern Utah to fish for warm water species including Perch, Crappie, Bass, and Tiger Muskie. This was our first trip up here near Ogden seeking Safe ice in a slow start to the winter. We fished about 50 feet of water on 6-8 inches of ice off the Windsurfer Bay parking lot. Plenty of people out there all reporting a slower day on the ice. We hooked into some croppie for the first time in Utah and some small yellow perch as we tried to figure out the new spot. Conditions were great. Several people got cars stuck in the snow or spun out on the roads. Remember to be safe. This location is near Ogden and Snow basin Ski Resort. We fished with ultra light rods and himminbird sonar. Tungsten jigs with white maki, wax worms, or pink shrimp were out successful baits. Enjoy!

Ya, definitely one we never really thought about either. Wanted to hit something different and safe with the conditions this year. Good pan fish spot if your looking for a good meal and catch it at the right time!

This year’s ice fishing season has been rocky compared to last year. Still plenty of fish just ultra finicky. 👍

Ya tough so far. We've had good luck at other spots, hoping for safer ice more local soon. Those tiny crappies are tough to feel, seemed like a slow day for everyone while we were out there though. Seems like the key is to hit it after dark

@@KutthroatOutdoors yeah at night is usually better. I’ve been doing a 20 lake series you should check it out sometime.

Yesterday we only caught 2 small perch. Maybe it's better at night? We moved a lot but i think its spot dependant.

Ya it seems like it's better to hit it at night generally, unless you hit a nice school of perch during the day

We’ve told him to film videos from Florida, but he’s having trouble recording from his Nokia flip phone. Stay tuned!
