im originally from the great lakes canada but lived in spanish fork and fished provo ogden spanish fork rivers as well as strawberry utah and mirror lake..theres a sign on the provo the denotes the largest brookie (record) caught here in nipigon ontario...miss the mountains and the friends i made while i was there..one day ill be back
One of my favorite spots for fish is midview reservoir and that is very close to my home. And they have a few different kinds of fish there. Walleye, trout, and bass. Kind of a small lake but pretty good fishing.
Thanks for the quick look around the state. Looking forward to this season!! I'm particularly anxious to get to Strawberry reservoir, but you have to hike in right now and that's tough on my wife.
Thanks for watching! I went to strawberry last weekend and it was pretty tough fishing. Hopefully it will pick up soon. Best of luck to you and your wife on a great fishing season!
Panguitch lake at one time would have been at the top of your list. Now because of all the cabin septic tanks, it's more like fishing in a sewer lagoon. Algae blooms are so bad, signs are posted telling people do not touch the water. Remember it 50+ years as a clear, beautiful lake. Now i won't eat fish caught out of it.😥
I agree. Ever since the fire it has not been the best. These days I can’t go there without seeing a local hassle someone from Vegas. Even many decades ago my grandparents said the trout out of Panguich tasted funny. Fishing “ice-off” is still the best time.
I almost fished sand hollow when I visited Utah about a month ago, but unfortunately it was torrential down pouring there which I heard was pretty rare for March!!
Dude, it has been RIDICULOUS this year. It's been raining at least once a week so far. The local reservoirs are all full almost to overflowing, and we have a couple inches of snow melt runoff still left to come. Then, there'll be summer monsoons later in the season which will give us even more water.
Ewww, Utah Lake! All joking aside we, as Utahns, need to keep locations off the internet. Places are already over-run ever since that whole co#$d thing in 2020 and all the poles were sold out everywhere. What a joke that was. Let the newbies fish the Jordan River...
Not really. Either places everybody knows (Green and the Provo, which are both miles and miles long, you could never fish it all) or massive bodies of water where you could spend your entire life trying to actually find the fish. Boulder mountains is an entire mountain range with lots and lots of fishable streams.
I would recommend Flaming Gorge. It does have lots of real estate to bank fish but that lake is better if you are on a boat.
Agreed, Flaming Gorge is another great place to fish. I actually have it on my top places to catch trout in Utah video that is coming out soon.

Super good info. Appreciate you putting it out there. Thanks!
Thanks!
Boulder Mountains!!! I can spend weeks in the area. The amount of trout species plus Greyling is unmatched.
NIce video man! I agree with all of them!
Thanks man!

Awesome video! Thank you for sharing this information, planning to hit up some of these places this spring/summer.
Have fun!
Watching this video brings back some good memories. That that trout out of starvation looked enormous!
Starvation is a great place to fish and has some tanks in for sure!
Great brother congratulations awesome thanks for sharing with us GOD BLESS you.
Thanks for sharing this. I’m excited to fish in Utah for the first time. I’m gonna land my first bass!
Best of luck! Let me know if you need any tips!

Glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite is flaming gorge because there is some really big rainbow and brook trout
I love lake powell, that is also where we put in our boat
Your list is great, I would add Flaming Gorge, and Bear Lake.
Those would be great adds!
Thanks for the tips!

The fire is what caused the algae blooms. Septic tank issue is a fable!
The lake holds alot of huge Tiger and cutthroat for those in the know.
If you go to Lake Powell, make sure you clean your boat of muscles, invasive species

You never know what kind of weather you'll get in March, but it's usually a pretty good time to catch some fish and Sand Hollow. Tight lines!
Yeah, came last year and the weather was way better!! Tight lines as well!

@@kevinmencer3782 Agreed! It's been a crazy year. Hopefully all this water will help all the reservoir and fish bounce back for years to come!
Holy crap! Its crazy how it went from record highs to record lows and rainfall!
Hey if you knew about salem pond i been having some fun times there i been having trout luck there its pretty fun
Salem Pond is a cool spot! Lots of trout and even some largemouth. Tight lines!
Have you not tried fish lake??
I've fished it when I was a kid. I need to get back up there and try it again.
Fish Lake is beautiful water. One of my favorite spots.
Is fish lake or otter creek
Just have watch out for any moose on the Provo
Opinion on tibblefork?
It can be a fun place to fish. It gets a lot of recreational activity in the summer but its a fun little spot to catch some trout.
You missed Jones Hole.
I'll have to add that one to the list to fish!

Thanks for not revealing the spots that are to good for outsiders to know about
😂
Spot burner. Hope all your spots are packed next time and every time you're out.
Agreed did not know sand hollow
They always have been?
