Yes, he just has to stop demanding that Peter brings him pictures of Spider-Man and learn to ask nicely.
OMNI-MAN POSSIBLE FOR REDEMPTION MORE THAN HOMELANDER.
What about Pictures of Squirrel's.
Yeah after reading the invincible comics and in the process of reading the *irredeemable* comic series
I can safely say the damage omini-man did to the city and the *total* death toll was extremely *tame* in comparison to what happens later on the invincible series and what the title caracter of irredeemable does trough out his series.
Seriously the Plutonian makes Comic&Amazon series homelander look like captain America and ominiman look like gods and monsters “Superman” who isn’t jor-el son but zod’s
Oh boy, people that haven’t read the comics are in for a surprise.
Yes they are
EXCELLENT WORK. AITEORI OMNI-MAN REDEMPTION
Been reading it lately. The fact that the show went in more extreme on the civilian deaths, they're going to have much harder time convincing most of the audience.
Comic or not....I would never forgive that POS
read?
Pretty hard when u call your wife a pet and say her life does not matter in the long run.
To be fair I don't think he saw that as the same insult that we and Mark does.. He's just in the moment trying to explain how life works when your life span is in the millions or billions of years... Doesn't make the time he spent with his wife any less real but for him 100 years is like 3 weeks
@@mullaoslo Look how so many people are willing to literally flush a fish down the toilet instead of burying it. 😒 (Also, fish do NOT breathe water, they breathe air diffused in the water, so STOP putting fish in a bowl, you're DROWNING IT! 😠)
But he'll love a mantis woman whos lifespan is a fart in the wind and all their bug people who are the most brittle beings shown in the series so far. Its just odd its most definitely not the first planets hes come across or children hes left bastardized/dead/enslaved.
Redemption and forgiveness are two different things.
Much of his crimes on Earth are unforgivable, irredeemable, but that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t have the option to defy his people even if both sides will perceive his as a traitor, which is kind of the point to him even continuing to do so in the first place, fighting “on the side of good” even though a majority will still think the harm he has done, the lives he ruined, will always outweigh what good he does in the future, that he likely won’t be forgiven for what he’s done, or even forgive himself.
But doing that ironically makes him more of a hero than the one he pretended to be, as he would be fighting without the prospect of being rewarded or finding peace at the end of all this.
"Hahahaha......You serious?"
Kratos to omni man: YES! Youve slaughtered innocents in the past and became a warmonger!
...
But what will you do now!?
Generally, Omniman and Kratos are the same.
But in full context, Kratos is worse.
@@DangerDan64 yes and no...kratos had NO intentions in killing his family, and essentially got tricked into killing his daughter and wife....and although Omni didn't want to kill his family...ultimately he DID slaughter his team, killing one of them TWICE, and gave no shits about his "pet" wife...even at Mark, his own son. He said he'd kill him, if he didnt follow him, saying, "what's 18 more years?"....not really redeemable imo. Kratos wanted to kill the gods, Omni is just following higher authority and wanting to enslave, for the, "greater good" ofcourse.
@megamegaO He literally teamed up with others with similar individuals who have their vendetta against the Greek Pantheon. He literally just used them to mean to an end and then gets surprised when they didn't die and tried to kill him as well.
(In Gaia's case, she would've done this regardless, but Kratos didn't know that at the time)
Being evil is less on how many bodies their are and more on the intentions. Kratos was openly crule towards overall innocent people, as for Omniman doesn't see people equal to those like himself. It's the same idea we do whenever we kill most insects. We see killing them to have no consequence. Omniman has the general same idea initially going in, but obviously, he started to face conflicting thoughts.
In after the fact, basing on the alternate realities, Nolan does value the Gardians as his friends for the time he was with them. But as some of us are victims of, "our duties are more important than those we care about" in other words, to make it easier on himself, he killed them without needing to say anything or else he would feel emotionally guilty having to speak at all to them.
(Remember he goes back and forth whether this is justified in the end) He finally stops and considers it all once beating Mark with the Inch of his life. When he challenged Mark's ideals once more and Mark still responds, He couldn't take it anymore and now just leaves and even considers suicide for how he can't forgive himself.
Until the Valhalla DLC, Kratos honestly showed no forms of regret on what he did to the Greek Pantheon. Yes, he has the right to still feel the need to kill them regardless of the consequences. But chose the consequences that don't matter to him over his own vengeance.
(In reality, Kratos was nowhere near the biggest victim of the Gods)
The only signs of his being merciful overall is technically in the third game, where he states that he's only here for Zeus, and anyone who gets in the way will be killed. He made it especially clear for "Heracules."
(Yes, that's his actual Greek name. Hercules is his Roman name, Disney, used that variation because they thought it had a better ring to it.)
But again, it was more of, "Stand aside if you don't want to be killed." Once they refused, "Alright then, that makes no difference for me." With the exception being Heracules, that was the only time he was shown full-on reluctance to kill him.
Anyways, I said enough. This comment is too big as is.
@@DangerDan64 Kratos started to have regrets in the 3rd game.
@megamegaO And again, He allied himself with those with the same goals and literally "killed" one of them. For the soul fact, they were they were in the way.
Despite how many people hype up Kratos as if any obstacle won't slow him down, I find it odd they couldn't write Kratos just leaving Gaia instead of, fucking hacking her hand off after all the help she did for him.
(Like I said before, I know she later comes back and plans to kill them both, but it kinda comes off as if she did this after the stunt Kratos pulled on her. Also, Kratos found it surprising that she wants to kill him as well. Yeah......... moments like this, I wonder what the writers had in mind, because these situations as well as the dialog are just conflicting and not in a good way.
Mark is a bigger person than I could ever be. If you massacre a whole train full of people with my fucking face we are not friends any more.
Fair enough

In a way, Thaddeus and Nolan are two sides of the same coin. They both killed an immeasurable amount of people and according to each planet's principles, they are both the equivalent of their planet's own devil but for massively different reasons. I also find it ironic that Allen, someone who had his planet blown up and was nearly torn to pieces by Viltrumites, was the first to defend Mark and go after Nolan
This is the same case as the diamonds from steven universe, its either redemption by eternal charity work or undeniable death.
There are no other possible developements for genocide, especially on a comsic level
Laughs in Dragon Ball z
This reminds me Impmon from Digimon Tamers after he killed Leomon. Even if no one will forgive him for his past atrocities, it didn’t stop him from doing the what was right.
I do believe it’s never too late for someone to change… but there are some things that are just… unforgivable. The murder of countless innocent people, the torture, the suffering he helped cause on countless planets. Even if he has changed his ways and regrets all he has done he still can never take that back. At the end of the day, Earth will never forgive him for what he did no matter how sorry he is. Does that mean he shouldn’t try to make amends? Absolutely not, it’s never too late to do that right thing.
I feel like the only way Omni man could redeem himself is by having that sacrificing hero moment.
Well that aged like fine milk in the comic
Definitely not the only way to redeem himself
@@Souphover give me another redeemable factor? Without spoiling the comics because I never read the comics because I literally can’t think of nothing else especially with the points Alteori is saying in this video

@@Souphover yeah I know but a person can still redeem themselves I’m not saying people are gonna forget what he did he obviously kill billons of people but look at someone like Loki from the mcu obviously he’s has nothing due with invincible at all but hear me out he literally killed billons of people on earth in the first avengers and I know he was basically mind control but the people from New York is not gonna believe that then look at the series not only he redeem himself but he’s protecting the multiverse.
The one thing we have to realize about the character of Omni man is that Nolan Grayson is not a human. He is a Viltrumite born as a warrior and has been alive for hundreds-THOUSANDS of years to the point he is most likely desensitized to death and destruction and killing at a whole he has learned to only focus on the mission at hand cause that’s what he is taught he wasn’t taught morals and love like we have he was taught to be a killing machine the fact he even has a heart and love towards humans is a crazy feat to begin with even for a Viltrumite he loves Debbie he loves Mark because they are what made him human even as a Viltrumite he knew he loved them which is why he even said “maybe it would have been better off if he didn’t got his powers” cause if mark didn’t he wouldn’t have gone on this tangent of killing and murder he would have been Nolan Grayson, Omni man the strongest hero of earth instead of a Murderer, Heartless monster humans now know him to be Nolan can be redeemed and he’s on that path already what showed it wasn’t how empty he felt it was shown when he didn’t kill mark he didn’t realize he was becoming Human becoming a man til mark said “you dad. I’d still have you” that’s when his redemption started the Thraxans only gave Nolan a purpose to be a hero again because deep down that’s who he is he isn’t a Viltrumite he’s a man he is Omni man.

He needs more work for redemption in the show. In the comics he’s not that bad.
Well duh, the show has only covered a small part of his redemption arc so far. He has shown no signs of being a worse person in the show than he is in the comics
If Kratos can, Omni Man can too
Facts
Kratos also destroyed the Earth at the end of God of War 3, and the only reasons the Earth still exists in the reboot games is because he gave humanity the Power of Hope, so if Kratos and Cruella can be redeemed then I don't see why Omni Man can't be redeemed too.

I mean he got redeemed in the comics (well kinda lmao) so it’s definitely possible they’ll go that route in the show but they definitely won’t make it easy. I’m more worried about Anissa. That’s a character that DOESNT deserve redemption
Dude don’t spoil none comic readers!!!! Put a spoiler tag or a warning.
"Redeem" is subjective here. He definitely changed just like his TV show version is realizing for sure
Why Anissa specifically? Nolan said that what she did was normal for Viltrumites. She's really not a uniquely evil Viltrumite. And while what she did to Mark was pretty bad, it's not nearly as bad as mass murder (which to be fair, she has also done, just like other Viltrumites).

Lol was NOT prepared to see the "we need justice!" lady. As a Jamaican, I approve lol
This is an interesting story plot point I often like to think about.
I believe these redemption plot points have to both forgive but never forget. A person who has committed atrocities and wishes to make up for them should be given a second chance, but what things they did cannot be undone and should never be so easily brushed off. If they genuinely feel remorse and wish to repent, they can't expect the world to just treat them as a hero even with the best of deeds. I think a very important point is the person being redeemed themselves should never forget their own crimes so they can hold themselves accountable for the possibility they might do it again.
Just imagine if your worst enemy destroyed your entire family causing you to have nightmares for more then half your life then they do something so great it saves the world. You see them being hailed as a hero but when it comes to you they just point and laugh brushing off anything they did wrong. Sure they did good for the world but their personal crime against you has not been resolved and in fact continues.
I've seen so many stories where crimes are forgiven way too easily to the point some of their worst victims end up being friends as if nothing ever happened and it just feels like a forced message about forgiveness.
On the flipside I've seen some moments where someone tries their darndest to make a change only to die and it feels very tragic and unfinished. Although I've heard arguments of it being a lesson about deciding to make a change too late and your sins just catching up to you.
the new avatar is really cute, well done Alteori.
I actually like a question like this, because it’s like, could something that did horrible things truly be redeemed. Like let’s say the devil in a super hypothetical situation where it truly wants to be redeemed and truly had a change of heart, could it be redeemed???
The modern system basically makes sure that you now have a hard time getting legitimate employment, friendship, etc, while you made a bunch of contacts in jail.
And that’s before some places started making laws seemingly made to encourage crime.
Ill only forgive him if he dies leading the coalition of planets fighting a viltrimite named thragg
Logically, consider that Omni-Man, like the Immortal, is extremely long-lived. He can be redeemed, become a villain, become a hero again, multiple times, as he can be different things to different generations in different eras of human history.
As someone with Italian blood in me, even if I got meals like that in prison it would equal to a death sentence ... LOOK AT THOSE SPAGHETTI !!! HELL I TELL YA! HEEEELLLl!!! 😂
Haven't read the comics but I hear this question the same as what was presented overall in Civil War. Does the threat of this single/singular entity of super beings outway the potential massive threat of another otherworldly creature that knows zero human life. 10 toes down, I'd take the enemy I know versus the enemy I don't. At least u can watch em.
I feel like this question also fits Superman…Yes Superman doesn’t kill innocents on purpose but millions die to to his battles…so are a few thousand lives worth a planet? Is kinda the basis
I think Omni-man can change, but I don't know if he'd be welcome on Earth again. I doubt people would trust him ever again, and they'd want him to leave.
I mean... granted, when it comes to my take on it. I truly do believe that everybody deserves a shot of redemption, even if it is very slim but I know there are plenty of cases where redemption is out of the question for certain individuals that are just downright malicious. Omni-Man (in the show at least) does care about his son at the very least, so there's something there to be redeemed but in terms of everybody else... he's going to need to actually pursue it to truly get it. Redemption doesn't just drop out of the sky and then BOOM, you're cool... you got to pursue and earn it. Kratos from the God of War series is a great example of a character committing some heinous acts and seeking redemption after the atrocities have already been done and achieving it.
I'd say its one of those yes and no sort of things. But then I'm not one to speak. I do not have the authority to forgive sins. I see it as "Wow, the space demon is on our side now? I better treat him in a way that makes him not change his mind so it stays that way, because there are other space demons out there."
Tons of high ranking Nazis got passes because they had useful skills or knowledge that various nations(mainly the US) wanted. The answer is "yes, as long as you benefit the people in power enough"
Anyone who has ever felt the sting of being cheated on knows the answer to this question. Most can't do it. Give Redemption to the other person, I mean.
If omni-man has truly changed he will accept whatever punishment earth comes up with. I say imprisonment along with using him in world threatening situations.
Short answer, yes. Long answer, yeeeeeeessssssssssssssss
He still doesn't give a shit about redemption right now, Alan is tryin to convince him. Dude knows he's cooked, f em

Great Omni Man video happy Friday 1:05 is beyond hilarious you make great points in this video. 11:16 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I think, if they can write it well, this level of redemption story could rival that of Saint Paul or Arthur Morgan.
As with both of those men, whether or not Omni Man can be redeemed is not the point of this kind of redemption arc. The act of trying, and the sincerity behind the trying, is what determines the redemption.
You are going to love the rest of the show I can not wait.
He has a beard during part of the show that means he was sad I mean just forgive my boy he don't do nothing wrong
Omni cannot be redeemed cause there isn't any punishment that could fit his crime. Especially because he's indestructible. Even if he saved the world it wouldn't be enough cause he's destroyed so many lives. It's also in the manner he killed them like they were worthless.
11:30 WHAT IS UP WITH THOSE PICS 😩
The Hitler arguement actually reminded me of the 9th episode of Babylon 5's first season. A notrious member of an evil race is found and is offering an imortality drug. Great episode
This is a conversation I’ve been looking forward to people having since reading to comics
Hm, We'll Find out about Him.
From a Christian standpoint:
anyone can be redeemed. Everyone is as bad as each other.
God doesn’t see some people as better or worse.
I am just as sinful as Hitler. I may not have committed genocide, but I’m a liar, an adulterer, I’ve stolen stuff before, like pencils and pens, which makes me a thief even though what I stole was tiny and barely noticeable. I’ve also used the Lord’s name in vain which makes me a blasphemer.
All of these things spiritually corrupt me. Genocide would just be another thing on the list of sins.
If I can be redeemed for my sins, so can someone that we would consider “evil”.
Now of course, if they don’t seek redemption, they won’t get it. It’s not like you can murder and lie then just be forgiven. You have to want to be forgiven and you have to put the effort in to change.
In Omni-Man’s case, he can’t change the past, but he does seek redemption, and he helps his son build a better future for everyone. What he did was wrong, but he changed.
Now of course, some people don’t follow that system of morality. If you’re an objective moralist, then you believe it’s really up to the individual to forgive someone like Omni-Man. If morality is objective, it’s logical to take either side. You can’t forgive him for what he did, or you can forgive him for what he can become.
Not a chance, for a proud -Son Beater/Abuser who told him to -*-think-*- twice!-

Robot essentially became the worst dictator around after Rex's death, but up until that point the Teen Team and the New Guardians of the Globe has never once wanted to kill, capture, or enslave Earth.
Wanting redemption is the first step to getting it. He does want it so that means there’s already the possibility.
He gets redeemed in the comic, but did he deserve it.....no....no not really.
That Omni man quote at the end just hits too hard😂😂😂😂
(7:28) Hrmmm. I think the obvious anwser would be to keep Mark happy. And keeping Mark happy, means keeping his father around...

You doing more philosophy gets a like. I would give you another one for making me feel heard, even though I most likely had nothing to do with this. Still, to me it appears as I asked, you answered. It's appreciated.
On the death penalty; It's less about punishment, more about protection. Once you realize that there is neither good nor evil, redemption becomes as unnecessary as politeness. Not to mention that death isn't punishment. So the question is "can Omni Man be trusted" as you correctly pointed out. This is impossible to deduce though, so all that's left is the risk-benefit analysis. They have lost anyway when the Viltrumites come, with Nolan they have a slight chance at least. So as usual, once you break it down, it's simple math.
I'm with you alteori as when as sacrificing his life like if he and everyone including Mark can find a way to talk to those one creatures bu also there life's are so very long in a way is that a punishment of its self
I KNEW THERE WAS A NEW DESIGN I LOVE IT!!
I differ to the great words of Teal'c to Tomin. For those who don't know, Teal'c and Tomin were slave soldiers to tyrannical empires and were responsible for countless murders in their name. Teal'c broke free first. Tomin later on.
/watch?v=HTzuxhOh80M
Teal'c: Nothing I have done since turning against the Goa'uld will make up for the atrocities I once committed in their name. Somewhere deep inside you, you knew it was wrong. A voice you did not recognize screamed for you to stop. You saw no way out, it was the way things were. They could not be changed. You tried to convince yourself the people you were hurting deserved it. You became numb to their pain and suffering. You learned to shut out the voice speaking against it.
Tomin: There's always a choice.
Teal'c Indeed there is.
Tomin:I chose to ignore it.
Teal'c: Yet you sit here now
Tomin: I sit here and I cannot imagine the day when I will forgive myself.
Teal'c: Because that day will never come. One day others may try to convince you they have forgiven you. That is more about them than you for them imparting forgiveness is a blessing
Tomin: How do you go on?
Teal'c: It is simple. You will never forgive yourself. Accept it.. You hurt others, many others. That cannot be undone. You will never find personal retribution but your life does not have to end. That which is right just and true can still prevail. If you do not fight for what you believe in all may be lost for everyone else. But do not fight for yourself. Fight for others. Others that may be saved through your effort.
0:27 there’s a remake of that on the way😂
In the words of a very intelligent and awesome ape....... "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Yes cause he can and does do more good then he did bad. Also let's be real there's a lot of things out there that had horrible Beginnings but ended up but ended up being good in the long run now this doesn't make it so that he's forgiven but this is still a I said a tool to be used to prevent that from happening again because the thing is no matter how evil it was what he did if he can prevent that evil again why would you throw that kind of asset away especially if they're change of heart is utterly and truly genuine like his is I actually kind of like the fact that he learned empathy from humans but the thing is yeah it like I said it doesn't excuse what he did but he is still a asset that can be used by Earth to protect Earth from the that same evil ever happening again and it just be stupid to throw that kind of power away
Well he should pay a very heavy penitence to just start a path to redemption.
I honestly don't think that there is anyone beyond redemption.
Nice outro music
He’s done irredeemable things but that doesn’t mean he can’t spend the rest of his life atoning for it
looking into the comment section and seeing ppl saying, we can redeem him. is the same energy as ppl seeing hitler or stalin and yelling from the top of their lungs: i can fix him or : they did nothing wrong.
while yes, you can try to resocialise a killer, that maybe killed one or too, maybe even as an accident. but omni man is a statistic man, he killed so many that you dont remeber names you remeber statistics about them, he wanted to enslave or kill of earth residence, frick at some point ppl should just say, just off him and be done with it. (and i am german, that has a hard stance against death sentencing)
Annnnnd we’re back on track
The way I see it, redemption is just about you becoming a better person. There is no cosmic balancing of scales.
Just that, we don’t have mind reading devices, and even if we did, if he changed it once, could he change his mind again? That’s a big reason why working to redeem themselves is needed. That, and in most cases, they would probably want to do so because they would feel guilty.
Love the new ends
Nah, i don't even have an Amazon Prime account and even I know he's a monster.
I remember when Alteori was just a shadow
Even if you do all the evils in the world and seek redemption after, you cannot earn everyone’s forgiveness. All you can do is work to be better until you forgive yourself and continuously strive to be and do better. It’ll be a never ending battle. But you should always do it, so that at the end of your life you can die with no regrets knowing you did all you could.
I actually hadn’t noticed that your avatar had multiple tails until now. If you don’t mind me asking, was that just a random choice because you liked it, or based off of something mythological like the kitsune?
I will never wish immortality on my worse enemy. It a terrible cure.
Hoo boy. You’ve given us a toughie this video. Personally, I would generally put Omniman in the category of enemy combatant. Don’t forget that, at the time, his actions were those of a cultus soldier doing his job. It’s a subtle difference.
For example, can the crew who bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki be redeemed? They arguably killed more people. What about the pilots who bombed London, or Berlin? War is ugly. Total war is VERY ugly.
I would need to put this question on the back burner for a while to come up with my answer. I would just say that the distinction between societal and personal redemption seems to hit the mark.
Yesh
He can but I don’t think the people of earth would ever except seeing him flying around free, I think they get it right with just his family and friends excepting him back
There are tons of people who would take him back. They would be relieved and grateful to have his protection again. They would tell themselves it was all just a terrible mistake and what matters is he is back.
@Alteori Have you ever played Horizon Zero Dawn? what do you think of the lore?
To the redemption question: On the personal level (As in, for himself) does he have to be forgiven in order to do good? Cause there's a line from a game I like
"You can live without forgiveness"
That's another thing.
The show does not answer these questions about how people should react to Omniman.
Hello Alteori.
Can Omni-Man be redeemed? Maybe. But that won't change peoples mind of him after what he did. He'll need to be punished and suffer, face the crimes of his actions, it will take a lot of will power if he wish to be forgiven.
Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.
I haven't read the comics this show is based on, but thanks to YT channel *Key Issues,* I know Omni-Man does redeem himself by the end of the series.
Hmmm. I guess we'll see with Nolan. Now, how about Wanda? Irredeemable? What does her redemption arc look like?

Oh absolutely
I feel like omni man can be redeemed similar to how vegeta was redeemed in DragonBall except not coming back after sacrificing himself

They redeemed Negan in the Walking Dead, and some fans still hate him. WTF Rick!
Omni Man can be sort of redeemed, his actions will never be forgiven, and he knows that, and never asks for it either, at least in the comicbooks.
I like his story in the comicbooks, even if he has done horrible things, his story shows how a person can change, and that it's okay to still hate him for what he did.
