    THANK YOU!! With the first video I was able to scan the document but I was getting an error message. As the video was 5 years old, I didn't think you would respond to a comment, so I looked through the comments to see if someone else was having a problem and I found the second video - which fixed the problem!!! Thanks again, but it still makes me mad why canon doesn't supply this info in the manual😀

    This video along with the first one you posted worked like a charm. I spent a good portion of my day trying to figure out how to get this feature working, started to pull my hair out and was even on the verge of thinking of returning the printer. But your videos did the trick! Thank you!

    Jesus F******* Christ. This feature stopped working for me back in like 2016. I had reached out to Canon and they couldn't figure it out, so I just defaulted to scanning to a USB. Just recently I decided to poke around again on forums to see if this shit finally got fixed, when I stumbled onto your videos. You helped me finally get this shit working again and I am loving having this convenience back in my life. Thank you!

    I was trying this last nite and I kept getting error messages. I decided to readdress it this morning. Turned off 2-step verification. Deleted device password. Then redid all your steps and boooooom! It worked!!! Thank you for a great video!!!!

      Well a couple of weeks and today went to use the scan to email feature and saw the LCD tell me the IP address has changed. Of course the scan to email feature did not work. I tried several times with and without two step verification.. Now I can’t get to use this feature. Any ideas? Can you make any suggestions?

    Great video - big help. Thanks so much. I did find that I had to force a printer reboot in order for the updated app/device password to actually reflect on the printer. Once that was done, shazam - worked like a charm. Again, excellent work and thanks for the outstanding video!

    Quick question: Is it possible to have more than one email address to scan to? I went through the steps in your video and successfully set up my gmail address, but I'd like to add a second gmail address, is that possible?

      Well, Kind of. When it sends the scan, it uses your e-mail but the destination e-mail can be anyone you want it to be. Maybe I should make a video of that.....HMM. Thank for the idea.

    I am still having trouble with this. I nothing is working. I get a printout after i try to scan with error on it. i have taken every video step by step and it wont work. any help would be appreciated.

    I was using the less secure settings and today I received the following from Google. It looks as though your video will solve my issue as I moved to Two Factor Authentication.
    See Google comments:
    To help keep your account secure, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password. Instead, you’ll need to sign in using Sign in with Google or other more secure technologies, like OAuth 2.0. learn more
    to send emails using your Google Account has less secure access to your Gmail. This might be an older device, like a printer or scanner. To continue using your Google Account with this app or device:

    I'm still getting an error. Watched both videos. I changed smtp port and enabled less secure apps (using an account without 2-step auth. so I did not have to use the password method here). I'm still getting error #802 in the Canon remote ui.
    Then, I tried using a 2-factor account and did all of that with password that was generated and still no go. :-(

      This is what I came up with. There must be something wrong with the smtp setting. I'm sorry, this is the best I can do without looking at it in person. Hope it helps.

      Check the SMTP server name set in Communication Settings. (See "Common Communication Settings for E-Mail/I-Fax.")

      The DNS server address specified in the DNS settings is incorrect.

      Check the DNS server address specified in the DNS settings.
      Cause 3
      Connection to the DNS server failed.
      Remedy
      Check that the DNS server is functioning normally.

      Check the FTP server specified as the destination. (See "FTP Server Settings.")
      Cause 5
      Connection to the FTP server failed.
