52 and since the beginning (2nd gen headbanger raised on judas priest and black sabbath etc by my mother, slayer came naturally) ;) raising the 3rd gen now, taking 13 yo daughter to see cannibal corpse and obituary this week for her very first show!!!
This is nothing compared to growing up in the 80's during this evolution of metal but it is enjoyable seeing young people listening to classical music 🤘😎🤘
It so true and I agree so much. I remember those hallowed years of my late teens and 20s and all the giant monster concerts and the epic productions they were they will never be the same.
Flotsam & Jetsam “Doomsday for the Deceiver” King Diamond “Fatal Portrait” Iron Maiden “Somewhere in Time” Motörhead “Orgasmatron”… 1987 is just as good.
"Darkness Descends" (Dark Angel); "Pleasure to Kill" (Kreator); "Obssessed by Cruelty" (Sodom)....1986 was "The Year of the Rise of Thrash Metal"...Greetings from Chile...!!!
Great reaction guys! That's how I felt 35 years ago. Slayer & Sepultura were the fastest & heaviest bands!!! Sepultura was criminally under-rated. 🤘🏻🇨🇦
I love how young people explore great metal bands. Had a blast watching you guys react to one of my favorite bands. Keep it heavy, so much good stuff to explore!
I remember, summer 1992, I am in an arena with about 10k other people. You can feel the tension, heat is overwhelming. Then we hear from the stage - You know, we were on the trip to Auschwitz yesterday... This is a song about this place. ANGEL OF DEATH! Arena literally exploded. Cheers guys 👊
Great job guys! I love your reaction to this classic Slayer song!👹 One thing about the album Reign In Blood: It’s all about the experience! I first listened to this album many years ago all the way through and was blown away!!! Like wtf did I just hear!!! From the first song to the last, the album just rages!!! Mid way through two songs you could choose Alter Of Sacrifice / Jesus Saves!!! These two songs are mixed so one song blends into the next!!! Anyway great job guys, looking forward to more Slayer reactions in the future!!👹
Hahaha the jump-scare by the kid on the left on the opening note was great! Reminds me of my first listen to this back in the late 80's...but I think I peed a little bit, too! Amost 40 yrs later, and I still listen to this album a couple times a month. Good on you guys for keeping it alive, this album deserves it 🤘
I've been a Slayer fan for over 43 years! So grateful these guys were in their heyday when I was in my late teens and 20s remember driving my car listening to this very record, OK, on cassette, but I was gnikcuF THERE THEN! 🍻🤘🏻
I heard this tape in middle school, around 1987ish. I can’t explain the magnitude of this album, especially for a young metal head kid at that time. They carved a niche and just owned that spot forever. It’s hard to explain.
Back in 1987, when I saw them in Deinze with my cousin.... 54 today ! Waw. We used to play this album home, using tennis rackets as guitars.... We had such a wonderful adolescence. Peace to all my fellow metalheads, no matter how old you are 🤘
What was that you ask? The greatest metal song of all time. I remember when Reign in Blood came out. It was 1986 buddy of mine and myself ran down to the record store to pick up a copy on cassette. We got back into my 1976 Chevy and popped her in the old cassette deck and reacted about the same as you guys just did. We were 18 tears old. I didn't get to see slayer until 1991 on the Seasons in the Abyss. I will look forward to your review of that. We'll done fellas.
Bought this album on release (obviously many years ago, haha). Until this day, this album is still an half an hour long brutal "tour de force" of Thrash Metal. Classic.
I listen Slayer since 1985. I bought "Reign in Blood" as import as soon as it came out. The entire album, and especially "Angel of Death" never got old. It still kicks ass, as back in 1985. Nice to see young metal heads experiencing this for the first time. The rest of "Rein in Blood" is not anything less fantastic than "Angel of Death".
I was 19 when this came out and I purchased it pretty much right away, as it was the first Slayer record we could get in our town as Imports were not feasible for the record store to order as they were required to order an "at least" number of Lp's from the import distributors, so we mostly only ever seen major label stuff, hence this Lp being my first Slayer LP. I had heard of them in magazines but had no way of hearing the first 2 Lp's as explained above. I remember at the time (1986) it certainly was different, the lyrics were certainly different at that time. Anyway, as others have said; it is pretty cool to see the younger generation who like METAL get to experience these types of bands.
Guys, sit down and listen to this album in full. It just rips relentlessly, song after song. As a 54 year old who was a teenage thrash fiend in the 80s, IMO it's a toss up between this and Master of Puppets as to what the greatest ever Thrash album is. So glad I saw Slayer on this tour. Freacking awesome!
A seamless album which does need to be listened to start to finish. I too saw them on this tour at Hammersmith, and as to your toss up question? This album wins hands down as the greatest thrash (and maybe of all time) album.
Another thing about angel of death by Slayer is that Phil Anselmo from Pantera sang this song with Slayer one time and set to the audience that angel of death is the heaviest song in the history of music period.
7:44 love to see that young guys today can still react to that just like we did in the 80’s when we first heard Lombardo do that. That was like eruption for drumming for metalheads back then. Not even a solo per se, just a pure display of precision and power. They asked for other good ones on this album….😂
The Solo going from left to right is because the left solo is Either Kerry King or Jeff Henneman ( the 2 guitarists) Swapping solos!!! great reaction !!!
If you want to go down the thrash rabbit hole you need to check out Anthrax - Caught in a Mosh or Madhouse. They are one of “the big four” in thrash. Unlike the other three, their sound has more punk rock in it.
Forgot to mention the meaning behind the song. The angel of death they refer to is Josef Mengele, an infamous Nazi SS officer and physician who did human experiments on people in concentration camps during World War II. Those things they refer to are documented cases of what happened. This song I have strong feelings about due to the subject matter.
The first time I listened to slayer I didn't love it, I listened to the full Reign in Blood album. However, some months after, someone in a dream told me to listen to slayer, so I woke up and did, and they rock. Big fan now. Just wish their songs were longer.
Slayer only got even more violent in their later years. In, "God Hates us All" the album has an intro called, "Darkness of Christ" that goes into, "Disciple." A very serious anger release. Go for it! SLAYER! 🤘
Cast Down, Threshold, and Exile are three of my favorite Slayer tunes (although Exile is my favorite of the three). I'm 50 and my neighbors get to hear me anrily ranting, "I wan to slit my own fucking throat, just to get rid of you!" when I'm doing yard work.
Love your t-shirt dude! Motorhead forever! Slayer, Overkill, Sepultura, Testament, Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, D.R.I.,etc,etc... A lot of thrash you must explore... 🤘
Also OI/Street,HC Punk is fantastic,brutal... Cro-mags,Agnostic Front,Madball,Sick of it All, Negro Terror,The Casualties,OI Polloi ,The Exploited,G.B.H., U.K.Subs, Chaos U.K., U.S.Bombs,etc,etc...
Went into a rabbithole and somehow ended up here :D You really should add Manowar to your list of bands to listen to. They have some pretty epic songs.
You boys really feel all the right spots, fun to watch. I think you guys should do a hidden classic that no one seems to do. Metal Church by Metal Church from their album, oddly enough, Metal Church. You won't be dissapointed, take it from an ancient metal head.
You guys are great, you now know the true origins of thrash, best newer thrash band that I love is Lost Society, album "when the sky comes down" my favorite song on there is we are the Brain Dead
It was so fun to watch you young gents both get absolutely flabbergasted by Jeff Hanneman's guitar solo, only to get slapped harder when he dropped out and Dave Lombardo double-kicked your ass into that tom fill. You need to go back and grab a still image of the look on your faces at that moment!
1986, the best year in metal. This album came out in the same year as :(Metallica )master of puppets/ (Anthrax) among the living and (megadeth)pease sells. 🤘🏻😛🤘🏻
I'm 46, still dig MOTHERFUCKING SLAYER! Welcome young ones! My kid is 16, he's probably the only MOTHERFUCKING SLAYER fan in his school! South Africa for the win!
I am 50 and you are correct. No other band sounds like Slayer. Reign In Blood is an all time thrash classic. Not a bad song on the album. Piece By Piece would be a great one to react.
In all seriousness: do a Lady Gaga reaction!!!
Coming soon…
I want to eat Lady Gaga. Both figuratively and literally.
66 years old. Been listening to Slayer for 40 years.
That’s quite the dedication!
That’s perfect. You never had to listen to Taylor swift 😂😂

I feel very old (48) , but enjoy this journey that you are about to go on, I love watching people hear this stuff for the first time
You think you feel old 🤣 I'm 54 and seen this live on their tour promoting this album. I was 16 when this album came out 🤘😎🤘
51 next week, been a fan since this album came out 🤟🏽
“gOd I fEeL oLd” There’s always some buzzkill who’s compelled to blurt this out. Shut the fuck up, music is supposed to make you feel young 😄
49 saw them at Madison Square garden clash of the titans your 91
51 saw them at the axis club in Boston. And we were waaaaay over fire code.
Everybody needs a little more Slayer in their lives!
51 from france and still listening . And i'm happy that youth listen and love what we had 40 years ago
Love that!! Thank you so much my friend :)
This is nothing compared to growing up in the 80's during this evolution of metal but it is enjoyable seeing young people listening to classical music 🤘😎🤘
Wish we could’ve had that chance
@TheIntrusiveThinkers it's possible you may. Slayer has talked of doing a reunion so..... 🤞🤘😎🤘

When this was OURS 💯.
I agree
Just so glad to see a new generation getting in slayer , clash of the titians tour bring back memories for me metal time 👊
Reign in Blood, Master of Puppets and Peace Sells all came out the same year. 1986..... A definitive year for metal ...

We do love Sepultura, we were lucky enough to get tickets for their farewell tour later this year
I have to agree with you. Sepultura was definitely underrated. I think it was when grunge came along true metal was pushed to the side.
Great reaction! Y’all are funny. Good to see some young metalheads getting so excited about SLAYER.
I wake up,"Thrash" for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Everything a growing boy needs!😄
Have to agree there 😂
