Guaranteed this woman has never encountered a raw egg prior to this segment. I realize Rachael Ray is basic but this is just plain disrespectful to her audience.
Yeah, skip the hot water. Blend thoroughly until smooth. Cover and let the batter sit for 15 minutes. The powdered ingredients will "bloom" perfectly. Give a final story, and pour.
If that was the case don't you think she would have discovered that by now. I am pretty sure this isn't her first time. That being said I have don't this myself many times and it does not.
Y'all gonna criticize the lady saying YOLKS with an unconventional pronouciation? Dang that's sad. These are the people who don't make good friends. Make your cake honey and say what you want as LONG as we understand what you're intending to say!
She was a army brat raised in different countries she picked that language from somewhere in Europe and forgot to leave it there lol. She cool though we know what she means. Dare to be different Sunny don't let them rag you because you still getting a chrck.
All these at home cooks, criticizing someone that's on TV lol. She must be doing something right cause she gets paid for this... yall just bake for school bake sales selling yalls cupcakes for 50 cents lol! Girl, keep doin you
I can’t get past the “yoLks”
I think it was her first day saying the word. 😂
Finally an American who pronounces the letters in a word!
I never add water. I add milk.
And "moister"!!!
i tend do this but with heavy whipping cream and i swap out and oil for butter thats been whipped ! it takes extra time but is a total game changer
I'm not taking baking advice from somebody who says yoLks. WTF?
So funny...I agree...who says "yolks"...I thought I was only one who heard that. That's crazy.
@@bettyhiatt8820 Next week, saLmon croquettes.
How do you say it???
@@manami3164The L is silent. Say yokes. Rhymes with jokes.
@@manami3164 the "L" is silent. Try it saying like Y-O-K-E-S . 👍
My aunt would add hot coffee instead she said it was a Chicago thing
Or milk.
No, its a coffee and chocolate complement each other thing..
I need to try this.
Huh I didn’t know it was a Chicago thing my grama is from the chi an her chocolate cake always had coffe innit to!
I'm from the south and we do that too. It's just because it's how you make a homemade cake.
Wouldn't the hot water cook the eggs?
Exactly, u would have to mix first? ?? Honestly., no eggs are necessary
I’m crying why did she enunciate yolks😭😭😭😭
Enunciate
@@sweetulip2004 that’s so embarrassing thank u
🤦🏾♀️. Lawwwd she's our only black representation on Food Network, and she done got on Beyonce's Internet talking bout a damn "Yolts!"
This butter work or you owe me $7.45 racheal😂😂😂😂😂❤❤
Sunny need her own show
Yeah, one were she learns to pronounce the English language!
Instead of doing hot water change that with coffee. It really brings out the chocolate and no it’s not gonna make the cake taste like coffee.
Can also do guinness.
Neither one of yall can cook 😂 😂
Wont the eggs scramble?
Thought the same thing

@@thethpianshe is a chef, and is right about the hot water. Haven't you ever heard of Hershey's hot water cake?
No, the water isn't boiling, it's just hot.
Steaming hot water and now you’re cooking the eggs that you added to the cake mix. You’re going to have scrambled eggs in your cake.
If that was the case don't you think she would have discovered that by now. I am pretty sure this isn't her first time. That being said I have don't this myself many times and it does not.
Yolts. ?? I looked couldn't find any at the market 😂

Huh everyone seems so obsessed with their baking as if its not just a, cake but emotions😂
Rachel taking notes from Paula Dean. Everything is better with butter 😂
Those eggs must be cooked by now 😱
I love you, Rachel Ray. I wish I could still see you every day. You made me like to cook
😍😍😋

I use coffee in place of water
Actually using butter instead of oil might add flavor, but makes baked goods less soft and less moist.
Sunny needs her own show.😊
LOVE BOTH OF THEM
yoLks?
Same here.
I use butter to and milk instead of water.
I'm definitely going to try this
Can't wait for Rachel Ray to come back to National T.V.
Loud as Buck
2 extra yOUlkz
Fun fact., you don't NEED TO PUT EGGS IN AT ALL. I HAVE TESTED THIS. CAKE ACTUALLY COMES OUT BETTER. NO EGGS
So I wonder if steamy milk would work?

Try adding hot coffee instead of water.
Add some hot steaming coffee for the chocolate flavour to shine.
WOW let's just scrabble those eggs.
I have never heard anyone say yolks that way! Interesting but not more than these comments 😂🤣!
So, you are putting Eggs into BOILING WATER... anybody else thinking poached eggs??
The hot steamy water will cook the eggs...put eggs in last after other ingrediants..they both know that
Hot water will make those eggs cooked
Yolks, ya say?
Why even use a box? Just get the ingredients
Use apple sauce is better than oil.
I don't like the butter method. Too much effect on the flavor.
Who the hell says yolks and pronounces the L …?😅
Use milk not water
Skip all that! 1/2 C - 1 C of mayo. You’re welcome. 🤗❤️✌🏾
Just bake a cake! Those box mixes are a rip off and full of rubbish
Yes!! Because If you can whip eggs, you can make an amazing cake in just about the same amount of time and for less.
Yulks!
But how much melted butter?
The same amount
Yulks
Rachel is a chef…why do we need another chef to show us these tips?! 🤷♀️ just sayin
You add water to cake mix you're nasty add milk or even chocolate milk strawberry milk not water eww😢
