I've got a few things I looking into for 3D printing. Fortunately there are a ton of styrene windows out on the market and I'll probably go with those in the future for the most part.
Nice job on the building. I accept that I don’t have the patience for building windows though. I look forward to the rest of the build and your future videos.
A little trick for cutting the windows not sure who's video it was that I watched but once you score around the edges then score from corner to corner and push the pieces out through the center of the cross score it is so much easier. Try it on a test piece of styrene I think you will adapt to using this technique. Like the building you made and I commend you for the analysis that you did to get all the measurments. Are you working in HO Scale Blessings Pastor Randy Bourque
Thanks for the tip on the cross scoring. That makes a lot of sense and is probably much more accurate than the way I did it. Yes, I am working in HO scale.
Great project, I too have a fascination with mills and grain. Scratch building is so much fun but windows and rafter tails are so tedious for me. 🙄 Great job so far. Cheers Rob
It has been a while since I worked on this so I don't remember all of the details. I believe I measured the height of the post on porch and divided the presumed height of 8 feet (96 inches) by that measurement. I might have made an error in my math, though.
Amazing work!
Thanks!
3D modeling and printing would probably make your window project much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the sub!

I decided to go with pre-made windows for my latest scratch build. These windows killed me.
What was the screen that you traced your plans on? Great videos!
Thanks. It is a LCD light box. amzn.to/3Myadka
Sticky Back Foam Core! Never knew such a thing existed. Good video, but that tip just made it better. Where'd you purchase it?
I don’t remember for sure. I bought it more than a decade ago for a different project. I’m pretty sure we got at Office Depot or maybe Michael’s.
How did you get the photo scale? If I take 96 / 0.1875 I get 512
