Looked a really relaxing stay in Wells. Some good beers on tap too. Have a brilliant 25 guys, see you when you get back - it’s going to be a good one we know it!!
What a great vlog to round up your travels for the year with. I'd forgotten just how beautiful Wells is, but that's hardly surprising as my last visit was in the summer of '82, in the dark, on a hastily location-shifted blind date (I'll share the story with you over our next beer). I know we've got one more to come before you both take your well-deserved break from RUclips, but I'll wager I'm not the only subscriber who's looking forward to seeing you back on the screen all refreshed and ready with your camera rolling again once spring has sprung. You'll be missed!
Love Wells, were there a good few years ago, it was a hot week when we were there and we both got burned 🙂 Will have to visit that site as it looks brill and having on a pub on site, well, even better 🙂 All the best for the new year 🙂
Your video quality is superb! What I don't understand is why you were charged £8.00 for a pint and a half of beer-you weren’t happy, and nor would I be! That’s one of the reasons I stopped drinking. Though your campsite cost £41.00 for 5 days, which sounded superb at first, my wife pointed out it was actually £41.00 per night. That’s a joke! I could stay in a Premier Inn this month for £45.00 a night, and they’re offering free breakfast-that’s a bargain. Of course, you can’t take your dog in there. I’m now in the market for a motorhome as I’ve got £70,000 spare, but the thought of paying £41.00 a night to “rough it” has me reconsidering. Imagine how much that campsite would cost during peak season! On top of that, add in costs like the habitat check, which is another £150.00 every year. I’ve also been watching Mark, a caravan and motorhome dealer on RUclips, who keeps saying how great this type of holiday is-but then I found out he went abroad on a plane for his vacation. If motorhoming is good enough for him to sell, but not good enough for him to use, that says a lot. Anyway, I love your videos, but it’s clear this isn’t a cheap vacation option. For example, I’m off to Serbia for 2 weeks this month. Car hire there is just £150.00 for 2 weeks with unlimited mileage, hotels range from £10 to £30 a night, food is cheap, and I’ll get to experience some real culture. Love your videos, though-take care!
£41 a night is because it’s Christmas although adult only sites are quite expensive anyway, we usually limit ourselves to £25 maximum but this way of holidaying isn’t for everyone. We enjoy it though and we don’t do other stuff so consider it a hobby too (people pay £80 to watch football etc) anyway thanks for your kind words regarding the videos happy new year 🙏
@@RickandHeather As long as you like it, you're right. I'm that miserable-I dropped a pound, and it hit me on the back of the head when I bent down to pick it up. Horses for courses, I guess. Anyway, when you mention £26.00, it's doable-that’s a better price. Also, I guess you can park off-grid; that's an option too. My wife still wants one, but I’m trying to talk her out of it. What do you suggest: a motorhome or a campervan? And what model? I’ve noticed it's not like looking for a discounted car. With a motorhome, you cant take it to any Mercedes dealer under warranty. , if you're away from home, the local dealers might not fix it under warranty if you didn’t purchase it from them-even though you can save thousands by shopping around. Looking forward to your reply.
@ I think you need to look seriously at many vans to decide if/what you want suits, we researched for ages for the current model we have, there are many van reviews on our and other people’s channels to assist, the base vehicle (Fiat for us) can go to any dealer but the habitation part is where you need to find a good builder, we ended up going bespoke for that reason, our service provided by S&L has been excellent
Happy New Year to you both and to Poppy. Enjoy your break and take care. Wishing you all the best 👍
