When I first started getting interested in corsetry, I feel as though there were four different types of dress pertaining to corsets: underwear model, stealthing under clothing, Renaissance faire costume, or goth. I’m glad that the community grew so that we have much more freedom of expression with and around corsets!

I have the original Gemini in the cupped rib shape, and I love it. I'll be so excited to try the longline out once it's available in a 38, I can get my 36 on but it's a little too snug. I'm short with a very long torso and difficulty fitting corsets due to my hips - the Orchard Corset 426 longline rides up as I wear it, until the entire thing is sitting above my waist, and at that point it's like a demibust. I often joke that I'm a torso with feet. It'll be interesting to see how this handles the lower belly spillage, as I do have a lot though I'm not sure how it'll work in the upper belly muffin top department, but that doesn't annoy me quite as much.
I'm the opposite! I'm legs and no torso (almost) and certainly very little head (its tiny). Funny how nature works sometimes! My uncle jokes that my legs should be illegal because he's taller than me, but has way way way shorter legs and doesn't find it fair. I love the imagery of a torso with feet. :) I hope they do offer it in a 38 as that's not exactly a strange size to offer (Mystic City go up to a 48"). I guess they just wanted to limit the size range for the first run of these to check they'll be successful (ignoring that you can't buy what isn't available and all that). So yeah I hope you can get one soon and that it helps you out. :)

I'm hoping some otr, someday, will have an extra long long line for myself and other people with extra long torsos as well, but alas everything is patterned for average

Your corsets fit you beautifully! The silhouette suits you very well compared to others you've reviewed - so elegant and proportionate. I have been thinking about which corset I should buy to get started with waist training and your reviews are very informative. If I end up buying a corset, I don't want it to compress my bones/nerves too much or gap anywhere, so it's really good to know what things like "rib spring" mean.

I got my corset in the indigo and must say that the video and pictures I've seen of this fabric really don't do the iridescent colour justice. The purple sheen when you see it in different light or from different angles is gorgeous.
Hello Lucy! Boy have I got a story for you! Your videos are just perfect. No sleazy lingerie for me. I’m 67 yrs old but young at heart. I have had MS for 40 years, requiring a cane for the past 10 years. The past 5 years have been a slippery slope-5 rib fractures, a burst fracture of my T-12 vertebrae, kyphosis, scoliosis, you name it -osis. My posture is like the crooked little man kids song. I have a drawer full of back braces, a Dr Ho pump up one, and a specially made expensive model.. They all are perfect for someone, but not me. As I mused to my hubby and kids about what the perfect brace would be like- something that would freeze frame my posture at my best effort, the thought of a corset still never crossed my mind. I happened upon your videos - and WOW - 💡🎇a light-bulb came on! My first on line Charmian brand arrived today.and I’m using your videos to figure it out. It's great to see you again Lucy! very interesting to know all the details about the Gemini. The very slight cup in the ribs makes it look so much better than a completely straight rib. Today I wore the Gemini longline straight rib for the whole day and it's amazing, beautiful and super comfortable. It is in no way too long for me, and I drove my car too while wearing the Gemini.
Wow, I’ve wanted to get a Gemini corset (rounded rib) since they first launched. Now I have even more choices available to me! Hooray! The Gemini in general is the most beautiful silhouette I’ve ever seen in an OTR corset. Great work!

In this corset they only manufacture it with a high back, but I would absolutely love to make more designs for TT in the future with all sorts of considerations! I already have ideas for Sagittarius, Taurus, and other signs for a whole range of "celestial bodies" (pun totally intended). At the moment the only corset in my shop that has a low back is the hourglass cincher.
The presentation was lovely. I can't remember, but the blue underbust corset seemed like the one that would work best with my silhouette. Once I have the extra funds, I will try to purchase one in the future. 😸😺

The hourglass regular was a little too long, particularly at the waist, but the verticals on the Libra were better, I’m curious if I can tolerate the verticals of the regular Gemini

I don't think so. I wouldn't want a spoon busk, most modern corset wearers want a straight silhouette, a spoonbusk is much more expensive and far more difficult to build into the corset, the price of the corset would by necessity be far more expensive, and as the market for people who want a spoonbusk is much smaller it wouldn't make sense to make it so it wouldn't exist.

Hi! The closest thing I have to a traditional Victorian corset is the TT overbust, as the slim silhouette version is straight through the ribs and more like a demi-bust on full bust or long-waisted folks. How can I tell if I have a "shelf waist"? I guess another way to phrase it would be "How can I tell if the Gemini long or the Gemini regular would be better for me?"
Shelf-like hips are fairly obvious if you have it (see model Hex Hypoxia if you need a visual example of what that looks like naturally). The vast majority of folks have sloping hips. However, to be able to sit down in the longline corset comfortably, you would need a torso length of at least 10.5 or 11 inches, measured from the crease under the breast to the “thighbrow” where your lap meets your body. If your torso is shorter and your hips are also sloped, then the Gemini might not be the right style for you, but you have other options available. 😊
@@LucysCorsetry 😯☺️ Well, that *is* what my hips looked like before I gave birth twice and gained 40 pounds, so I suppose they’re under there somewhere…. It’s probably 10.75 inches between my bra line and my thighbrow, so it’s going to be close, but I feel like I’m have exactly the body type the Gemini long was designed for (post-parting pooch and all). Keeping my fingers crossed!

I really hope so! I’m about 80% sure they will, but I can’t say for certain. The Jade was much more requested so TT definitely found more of that fabric in a hurry, and that should be back in a week or two. The indigo however I haven’t gotten a super clear answer on.
Is this ever going to work for my short torso when the regular Gemini is already too long (bought one anyway lol)? NO. Will I watch, like and comment on this video anyway? ALL THE YES.
Hi Joann, if your main priority is holding in a lower tummy, then it will probably have to be at least a little low around the back - even though a corset might be longer in the center front to cover a lower tummy, it will essentially become a structured “flap” that your tummy pushes out on (possibly creating a "corset dong"), as opposed to the corset pushing in on your tummy. I have only ever seen one exception to this, but it was a custom-made corset with a butt cutout, and the corset was specially constructed with super rigid carbon fiber bones in the front which have almost no flex to them at all. Unfortunately no OTR brand offers a carbon fiber option because they're only sold in a couple of places, and quite expensive.
Can I send you my measurements so I can know if this will fit me properly? I have been waist training in a size 26 CS426 Longline from Orchard Corset. I want this though for a more dramatic curve.
I've been meaning to make that video forever! I have at least 4 different types of shapewear shorts to test with corsets to hide that bottom edge. Some definitely work better than others. So far the one that's worked the best is just bike shorts, surprisingly!

@@katiefox755 If its easily washable and you have enough to switch out so you can air them or pop them straight in the wash (depending on how much you sweat in them I guess?) then it could work. It might not breathe as well if the shapewear is synthetic, but other than that it shouldn't be too bad.There is always using some kind of talc alternative applied first to aid in moisture absorption if that turned out to be an issue.

Hi, can you link some websites that sells flat boning corsets. The ones with the spiral in them don’t seem to flatten my stomach as much.

How can I tell if I have a "shelf waist"? I guess another way to phrase it would be "How can I tell if the Gemini long or the Gemini regular would be better for me?"
Shelf-like hips are fairly obvious if you have it (see model Hex Hypoxia if you need a visual example of what that looks like naturally). The vast majority of folks have sloping hips. However, to be able to sit down in the longline corset comfortably, you would need a torso length of at least 10.5 or 11 inches, measured from the crease under the breast to the “thighbrow” where your lap meets your body. If your torso is shorter and your hips are also sloped, then the Gemini might not be the right style for you, but you have other options available. 😊
@@LucysCorsetry 😯☺️ Well, that *is* what my hips looked like before I gave birth twice and gained 40 pounds, so I suppose they’re under there somewhere…. It’s probably 10.75 inches between my bra line and my thighbrow, so it’s going to be close, but I feel like I’m have exactly the body type the Gemini long was designed for (post-parting pooch and all). Keeping my fingers crossed!

I really hope so! I’m about 80% sure they will, but I can’t say for certain. The Jade was much more requested so TT definitely found more of that fabric in a hurry, and that should be back in a week or two. The indigo however I haven’t gotten a super clear answer on.

What would you recommend for needing a front long to cover mama tummy skin and to not cover a much loved booty?
Hi Joann, if your main priority is holding in a lower tummy, then it will probably have to be at least a little low around the back - even though a corset might be longer in the center front to cover a lower tummy, it will essentially become a structured “flap” that your tummy pushes out on (possibly creating a "corset dong"), as opposed to the corset pushing in on your tummy. I have only ever seen one exception to this, but it was a custom-made corset with a butt cutout, and the corset was specially constructed with super rigid carbon fiber bones in the front which have almost no flex to them at all. Unfortunately no OTR brand offers a carbon fiber option because they're only sold in a couple of places, and quite expensive.

Random question, do you have a video or blog post that addresses shapewear with a corset? I need something to help hide my pooch that my corset causes
I've been meaning to make that video forever! I have at least 4 different types of shapewear shorts to test with corsets to hide that bottom edge. Some definitely work better than others. So far the one that's worked the best is just bike shorts, surprisingly!

@@katiefox755 If its easily washable and you have enough to switch out so you can air them or pop them straight in the wash (depending on how much you sweat in them I guess?) then it could work. It might not breathe as well if the shapewear is synthetic, but other than that it shouldn't be too bad.There is always using some kind of talc alternative applied first to aid in moisture absorption if that turned out to be an issue.
