    Thanks for the video. In all the information I was given there are no instructions on how to use the remote I couldn't remember all the steps the rep went over. Last night was my first night after activation and I wasn't able to use it correctly. So glad I found this for tonight!!

    God has quite a sense of humor. During my followup sleep study using Inspire, my sleep doctor noticed episodes of dangerously low oxygenation apart from any apneic activity.
    He referred me to a pulmonologist who discovered a lung disease requiring supplemental oxygen during sleep and when flying.
    I had just gotten rid of having to use a CPAP and dragging equipment around on vacation trips, including camping. Now I grab my Inspire remote (and extra batteries!), but I'm still having to strap something on my face and drag a portable O2 concentrator with me when away from home.
    Kudos to my astute sleep medicine doctor and my pulmonologist.

      Hi, & congrats!! I have the Inspire device! Be patient, it may take some time to get to YOUR correct level of stimulation! It took me nearly 3 months of adjustments, Dr. visits, some in office adjusting with the Dr & Inspire rep to get it all tweaked just right, but now, after 19 years, I'm sleeping CPAP free!! Absolute Heaven!!

    I'm curious as I've read a contradictory statement about the device and remote, as follows; "Yes, the Inspire device automatically turns off when you wake up. The device is controlled by a small handheld remote that you use to turn it on before bed and off when you wake up. The remote also has buttons to adjust stimulation strength and pause the device during the night." My question is; Does the Inspire turn off automatically when you wake up or must you turn it off via the remote?

      The Inspire is programmed to turn itself off after a set number of hours. To the best of my knowledge, it can only be changed by the tablet in the clinic. Mine is set for nine hours but I rarely sleep that long, so I have to turn it off using the remote.

      @@Inspiresleep Yes met once with Doctor. Prescribded an anti depressant ti help me falll asleep. Did the complete opposite and kept me up all night. Problem with Inspire for me is when I'm trying to dose off. I snore and wake up. Inspire won;t help that. I'm not scheduled to go back to the doctor until July and to be honest, I may cancel. I am mostly back to square once using my CPAP and evwn that didn't work so great last night and went back to Inspire and couldn't fall back to sleep. It may be that Inspire is not for me. That's true, but go to your Dr. They will spray a numbing agent into your nose and put in a tiny scope. At that point, with the rep controlling the Inspire, they will turn it on and tweak the voltage, pulse frequency... and observe how your airway responds. It took me over 3 months to get it where it needed to be! I was so discouraged at first, but please, be patient!
      I have super severe apnea!! Been anchored to a CPAP for over 19 years!! It took trial and error, but my Inspire works great now!!
      It is true, it will not work for everyone! But don't give up too soon!!!

      I too am haveing issue. Best part, Inspire no long deals with my doctors office. The only option is starting to look like ill need to drive across the state to see another doctor. And naturally I have to visit them first, to then set up another appointment to then see an Inspire tech. I'm ready to cut this junk out of my body.

    I've had my Inspire since March 2021 and it's been a game changer until the last few months. At my followup sleep study after activation and achieving the prescribed level (with no problem), it was found that I needed to progress up to the highest setting (two trips up the setting ladder) to 3V.
    I was able to achieve that but then began experiencing my tongue thrusting waking me up and also tongue soreness.
    My sleep doctor said it was okay to back it down a few settings but to try to get back up to my highest setting.
    I am currently at setting 5 on the second level and can sleep. I figure it's better than nothing. Just wondering if this has happened to others having to progress to 3V stimulation and/or experiencing tongue issues. 👅
    I'm really discouraged that I was able to tolerate the highest setting for quite awhile before experiencing any problems.

    • @fangerootango
      @fangerootango 7 месяцев назад +1

      I had some problems as well and was initially feeling discouraged. I got up to what was just over MY max level, and my tongue and teeth were engaged in a nightly boxing match, and it woke me up all night!! I was getting sores on the tip of my tongue from it mashing on the back of my teeth!! I backed it down one level, waited a week, and bumped it up one level again, only to have the same problem! At this point, I moved it back down one level and viola!! You may need to have the Dr put a scope in your nose to have them look at how your throat opens under stimulation. It takes a few minutes and is pretty amazing to watch!! They are able to see in more detail what type of stimulation you may need.

    Why does this video say that the device will turn solid green when it apparently blinks continually?

    • @Inspiresleep
      @Inspiresleep  5 месяцев назад

      There are two ways to know that Inspire therapy is on:
      1. You will hear the two chimes indicating the command you made on the remote was successful with your generator.
      2. The status ring on the remote is dimming and brightening green instead of solid white. This indicates the Start Delay status before therapy comes on.
