If you really enjoy Deadman Wonderland, *I suggest you read the manga* once you're finished with the anime, *but read from the beginning.* The anime left out some small details that, I guess, they thought weren't important, but actually make it a little easier to understand. The story gets even better from where the anime left off, and the manga is finished now. *Btw, the anime had to stop because the manga went on hiatus for several months.* And trust me, the manga explains _everything_ about Shiro and also explains why Ganta doesn't remember Shiro, through clever use of plot to provide us with flashbacks.
RandomGirl119 Is the manga good? I don't think I enjoyed the anime. It was too incomplete. Some scenes and sequences seem contrived. Given the setting, idea and characters, the story looks as though it has massive potential. The question is does the manga soar or crash?
madtrini In my opinion, the manga was pretty awesome. The story gets better after the point that the anime stops at. The anime has some things that the manga doesn't, and some of the things that characters said in the anime weren't said in the manga. The manga has some things that weren't included in the anime. So, if you do read the manga, it's worth reading it from the beginning.
This is one of those animes that absolutely needed a full 52 episodes to be properly enjoyed. The manga beyond the point where the anime ends addresses all of the issues he brought up; the Deadmen's blood powers are explained, Ganta and the other major characters got plenty of development, and the reveal with Shiro was monumentally awesome. To anyone who watched the anime and wanted more, absolutely pick up the manga!
I just finished reading the manga and I totally agree! The only thing that I didn't like so much was how SPOILER ALERT! Ganta and Shiro survived the explosion that destroyed the island, and they didn't explain how they did. But other than that it was awesome!
I agree and I can name 10 other anime that shood have the same 52 episode's but no and it breaks my heart 😭😭😭😭😭 sorry i watched a really good but sad anmie before this one I'll tell you the name of it Akame ga kill. It's dubbed btw and it's one of my favorite but it's sad 😭😭 made me cry for real
I mean I might have to read the Manga because I just finished watching the anime and what the f*** was that how are you going introduce Mysteries and then just not answer them
+Jasmine Martinez Yeah it's a shame the show didn't do well enough in Japan. You can see they set up the plot for a 2nd season. I wouldn't have minded some more screen time. Just tought that kid how to use his Ganta gun right too *sigh*
RyanDoesSomeThings Eren is literally a mcguffin now, as it is now pretty much stated in the story. I like AoT, but it's hard to have a decent anime with good side characters, and a main lead that's fucking angry all the time. Plus Ganta turned out to be quite the badass by the end of the manga, so that's cool. Actual development that's not completely triggered by plot...yeah.
dang.. you were kinda harsh on Ganta.... I mean, his life was ruins, he's gonna have setbacks in overcoming his problems.. I couldn't blame anyone who just gave up in that situation
@@vitriolic9888 Yea I was told to do so by another watcher but I felt unmotivated cause of how they mislead me with that ending lol and it happened before with "Classroom of the Elites" which only made a show to make the manga popular so after season 1 there was no reason to do a season 2 😭
3:00 you clearly know nothing about the Japanese legal system. They'll spend weeks "interrogating" you for a confession. Most people confess just to get out of that living hell, even if they're innocent. Their conviction rate is something like 99.8%. I wish I was joking, but it really is that terrible.
Pretty much the same in the US though. With mandatory minimums, prosecutors are like hey you can either go to trail, lose and get ten years. OR plead guilty and get community service, probation, with the added bonus of getting to go home today (which is important to note since if you don't have the money for bail, you would have to sit in prison while you await your trial. That might take months to years before you step foot in a court room). Isn't the justice system amazing
Their conviction rate is really high, and most people who are arrested are convicted regardless of innocence, but there's also a really really low arrest rate. It's not like in the US where people get arrested all the time.
Yes but the American system is not as bad as japans as confessions are seen as the highest level of evidence and unlike in most western countries there is no law that says forced confessions are invalid, oh and they are allowed to hold you for as long as they want and can do anything short of straight up torture. Borderline torture is okay though, Oh and you get no phone call also the police are allowed to straight up lie about stuff like telling you your family wants you to confess when they have said no such thing (that last example is not hyperbole, it actually happens sadly). Also note I am not American and I know full well the American system is terrible, Japans system is just worse in pretty much every way imaginable.
Watching Deadman Wonderland gave me a Tokyo Ghoul vibe. Like the Quinque used in T.G resembled the weapon the 2nd grader was using in D.W. Also, the way the use blood as a source of power is a huge similarity between both series.
The big problem with Deadman Wonderland is that the second season never got released. Having read the Manga all the way through to it's remarkably explosive conclusion, I can happily report that it does actually tie everything up very nicely. Now they just need to release the anime beyond season 1.
after thinking about how the manga was paced, I think that the second season, if they ever continue it(here's hoping) would go from where season 1 leaves off, up to the events of chapter 39: "Despotic Despair". Then season three would have to be the events of the remaining story.
To be honest, I found the part of him being blamed for the murders, quite idiotic, now that I saw news of a baby being blamed for assulting an officer in pakistan, wel... I gues reality is stupidier than we would like to believe
But what I don't get is why does nobody believe he didn't do it? Usually, when something like this happens there are protests or petitions to get the person out because of how obvious it is that they didn't do it but, in the anime, it seems like everyone believes that this scrawny high-school-aged kid, who had likely never seen any kind of combat of fighting training in his life, somehow killed all his classmates in 1 second with no weapons? Like, they ALL believe that and don't even question how that is even possible? Like, not one person even suspects that he was innocent? I can believe that the Judge was paid off, I can believe that the Jury was also paid off and I can even believe that his lawyer would set him up (despite the fact that lawyers don't usually get paid unless they win the case) but not a single person bringing up how ridiculous this case is? That's where my suspension of disbelief ends personally.
I totally agree. I watched the anime first, liked it enough to read the manga. I was amazed they got rid of main characters in the anime and more importantly the main story goes on even further. I ended up liking the manga so much better and read all 50+ chapters in one night. Please please PLEASe read this manga. You won't regret it.
Gotta go with these guys. I read the manga first, and while the anime is good, it can't measure up with the manga. So much more content, development, and it... It's just so much better.
Still waiting on 3 anime to be redone from scratch. -Soul Eater -Claymore -Deadman Wonderland Cause get what anime studios around the world? The manga is actually DONE now.
I recently watched the anime and i would give it about a 7/10. The problems i had with this series were - too many plot holes -interesting characters in which they could have developed more ( for example Toto, Karako) -too short -anti-climatic ending -could have explained the origin of the powers better. -forgot about the 3 day rule quite a bit.
I say the same 7/10 but i think if it was popular enough the other characters would had their own episodes like fillers explaining either how they got their powers or how they got aware that they had them the 1st time n learned how to use them but o well not popular enough in japan so its worth continuing the anime :/ (apologies for any grammar errors English is not my main language)
Everyone says that this show has plot holes, but I honestly didn't really notice any. Can somebody explain them to me. (And I'm not saying this to be a pompous jerk. I legitly want to know.)
Thank you! It seems like huge attention was given to the 3 day rule at first, but after that it promptly got dropped from everyone's mind. And then that ending....ugh...if only it was longer...
What annoys me the most about this Anime is that the FUCKING STRONGEST deadman got like 5 sec. of screen time!! Mokingbird or what ever his name was...
Which is really sad because Mockingbird is an extremely major character in Deadman Wonderland's manga. It's just that the anime ended immediately after the point where he's introduced. The manga is absolutely incredible.
There were a lot of problems with this show, to be sure. I find the premise relatively interesting though, and Shiro was an excellent character. I would welcome a remake of this at some point that actually respects the audience and the story enough to give it consistent writing and a definitive ending.
Space Cowboy Yeah, I don't even want another season at this point. I want a complete overhaul. If they had put as much effort into the writing as they did the animation, it probably wouldn't have done so poorly.
I watched this anime and I liked it but it wasn't given a second season which is disappointing. I really would have liked more on Mockingbird and Rokuro. Seeing as they were my favorites. I don't have access to the manga copies and it is very angering. Over all I loved this anime, very similar to Tokyo ghoul in certain aspects And THE WOODPECKER SONG.
In my opinion the ending was rather anti-climactic. I was just like "Oh." Did they leave Deadman Wonderland? Did they stay? Like Arkada said, the ending raised more questions than answers. Such as, who were the two inmates they said they "had in custody"? What questions were they going to ask? And who would they ask said questions to? I enjoyed this series, but the ending could have been far better. Like maybe Shiro and Ganta being on the boat with the others, and then Shiro and Ganta could have had the same conversation at the last minute or so, and it could have ended that way. At least then we would have known whether or not they got out of the damn place. But even then, lots of questions would still need answers. I would rate it 7.4/10.
It's good for the story especially towards the end. The chapters about Ganta's childhood and everything after that would be fantastic if they were put into animation. Seeing how good the dub was ,the final fight would just leave the audience in tears. This anime has the potential to be groundbreaking. Just follow the manga and leave nothing rushed the animation for the show can only get better just look at Tokyo Ghoul.
The anime stops not even half way of the manga thus it doesn't have an ending....thats why it has so many questions, and thats the reason that lead me to read the Manga and i am SO glad i did because it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! It get Way darker and twisted and it makes you hold on your seat on cold sweat until literaly the last freaking page...xD READ THE MANGA!! It just can't disappoint you.
Ah, I read the manga and wanted to see what you had to say about the anime. Sounds like it would have been cool but I'd have been disappointed by the lack of an ending and had to read the manga anyway. The manga ties up the story nicely in every way including more screen time for supporting characters. The ending wasn't bad but it left me unsatisfied. Still, everything up to that point was quite epic.
@RuneKatashima"The ending wasn't bad but it left me unsatisfied"are you still talking about the manga? because i thought it is´nt complete yet, is ist? because then i have to buy the 6th volume....
Don't even watch the anime. Read the Manga. The anime stops mid-way through. The Manga finishes. The anime let's Ganta stay the little bitch he started as, while, the Manga developes him. Okay anime, great manga.
"Ganta Igarashi came to Deadman in April 2011 for murdering his classmates in a brutal fashion. Outside he was a stand-up student, well liked by his classmates, real decent fella. I must admit I didn't think much of Ganta first time I laid eyes on him. He may have been okay on the outside, but here here was just a little turn in a grey uniform. Looked like a stiff breeze could blow him over. That was my first impression of the kid.."
No offense Arkada, but i don't think i would get over it if i was accused of killing my classmates and sentence to hell on earth. I am not a doctor but i think this would pose a serious mental health problem on Ganta. Like rape in a way.
I can't blame Deadman Wonderland for It's rushed and confusing end since the animation studio doing the show went bankrupt during It's production of the anime. I hope this show gets a good reboot from a high end anime studio.
What was that anime you mentioned at 9:50, how is it spelt, and if I may ask, what exactly is it? I'm looking for a new dark anime to start up. I've watched too many positive things recently now I want to depress myself. (And of course the rest of Deadman Wonderland is on the list, I've been putting it off as I watched the first episodes but after hearing about the lousy ending, kind of decided to put it off.)
Holy shit I just read the manga.... if they followed the manga in the anime and continued as so, it would be one of the greatest anime of all time...it is an absolute shame...
omg THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, coulda stopped watching the review after the intro because you literally summed up EXACTLY how I was feeling! I just finished the series and I was like ummm... where's the rest though? And like you said this feeling of 'where's the rest' happens far too often in Anime ! Or at least the feeling of 'I really wish there was more'
OHMYF- THE WHOLE ACE ATTORNEY SEGMENT GOT ME SO BAD!! xD Great content man seriously, I can't even point out a flaw dude, and this is your way earlier content, so hats off to you! Earned yourself another sub!
Need more reviews!!!! I have only recently subscribed and have already watched everything you have posted. Easily the best reviews on RUclips and I agree with so many of your ideas :)
I read manga and I must say that in the manga, the ending is just genius. I do understand that when you only watched the anime, it's like half of puzzles miss. But still, when I know already the plot, it's even more enjoyable.:3
If you are thinking about watching this anime, please don't hesitate. I highly recommend you watch this, you will not be disappointed... Except for in the ending
I so badly love that voice and dress choice. It gives GRArkada such a respectable and intellegent charm. He dosen't come off as demeaning, but often acts quite vividly alongside his speeches Then I remember for a moment it makes him look like Alfred Ashford, and I'm a bit weirded out.
To anyone who saw this and was disappointed by the plot holes, please read the manga. It develops the story far more and the art is beautiful. If you liked Deadman Wonderland the manga is amazing. Also if you happen to like the creators they have started a new series together, Smokin' Parade, which I also highly suggest.
Questions I was left with: Was Shiro the one who killed his class? Will Ganta ever be able to clear his name and avenge his class? (if hes still up for it) How did Senji wind up in DMW? WILL THEY EVER RIDE THE FERRIS WHEEL?
if you want all these answers i recommend reading the manga as it answers all of these and more, and has a satisfying end............. but if you dont wanna read it (you should) he answers are *spoiler................... yes yes(not up for it) magic yes
The way I would describe this show is that it's like a really messed up dream. Couldn't you just imagine someone saying, "Man, I had this weird dream last night where my entire class was murdered. I survived, but then everyone thought I did it, so I was put in prison. But for some reason, the prison was also an amusement park. Oh yeah, and there was this cute albino girl who drop-kicked a robot". This anime didn't always make sense, but it was that surreal nature that made it for me. I'm still holding onto hope for a second season, though. That ending was a gyp.
I have to admit the show had me interested the whole way through but it wasn't something that had me still thinking about it more then a week after. I did not know there was a manga for this until recently but upon reading it was given a lot of back info on the characters and even the mysterious floating character in the beginning that really weren't given in the show. Plus the info given was really astounding in light of plots and serious gut wrenching twist. It was just as brutal if not more in black and white manga pages that gave me the true depth behind the characters I needed. By the way, thank you GRArkada, I really enjoy your reviews. (Happy Face)
Deadman wonderland was meant to end, and it would have been a lot better (With what we had in the Anime it was rather good) but because it wasn't popular enough and wasn't selling enough in Japan they just stopped and gave it nothing to meat it out or to satisfy us.
Well, every story has its ending, and this one is no different, I highly recommend the manga, and well, we people need to comprehend that each story has an ending, regardless of how you felt about it, not all of them are made to end like Disney films, and this one, was an extreme masterpiece :)
Glass reflection, do you seriously think someone would "get over" something like that in their life time? This kid witnessed his class get massacred and was sentenced to a life time in hell. No sane person would ever get over that let alone accept it. I agree the show was horrible but this point you made was off.
***** He's got other problems to deal with. After dealing with the Undertakers, he has to deal with a contingent of artificial Deadmen created by Tamaki, and when that threat is dealt with, DW is completely destroyed, he knows who the Wretched Egg is, and he doesn't want to go back to the wreckage because that means fighting them.
Just because the manga does something doesn't mean it's correct. If you want to experience for yourself a portion of what the main character felt, watch this video. It's real. www.liveleak.com/view?i=54d_1333752609
+sadpwner Right, but his remaining in that mindset is a noticeable part of the story and 95% of his character arc involves him getting over it as time passes and everyone else relies on him too much for him to give up.
Sam Geuvenen tbh, I don't remember enough of the show to give a proper argument since I watched it 2 years ago, so let's leave there. Out of curiosity, did you watch the vid?
People who don't identify as male or female. This could be anything, from having multipule genders, no gender, moving between genders something that is not male or female, and every kind of gender identity out there.
I agree with this review. But the creator of the manga never finished it! When they made the Anime, never finished manga, if the manga was done, it would be likely up to a range of 15 to 20 episodes for the anime.
I loved this show and I really hope they make new seasons but if we view this season as being the show in its entirety, it really was a complete package in my mind. Seriously, there was so much character and plot development jammed into 12 episodes with a great story arch overall. For me, its not the lack of questions answered but rather that its a satisfying narrative. What a roller coaster ride. Seriously hope theres a second season.
Findlay Taylor Deadman Wonderland should've deserved better than this. Ganta seems more of a baby in the anime. The characters were just off, and the animation was really lazy. When I was reading manga, and I watched the anime, it was really a disappointment. So yeah, DW should deserve more than this.
AniJan The animation was lazy?! Where? Please, I'd love to know, because I thought it was rather good. Your opinion differs so much compared to mine because you read the manga first. You watched the anime with high expectations. I watched the anime first, really enjoyed it, and then read the manga and extremely enjoyed it!
you know Deadman wonderland is the kind of show where I think is going to be like Hunter x Hunter 2011. the anime is cancelled but I think theirs going to be a remake for it later in the future with better animation.
Don't quote me on this because it might have come from a faulty source and all that but as I heard it the manga suddenly stopped being made halfway through production ala tokko hence the weird rushed and just plain shit ending, so yeah not likely going to see anymore of this.
Even though I have not watched this Anime yet still on Ep 2 I want more Deadman Wonderland Season 2. I just want to find out who that red guy was who attacked the school.
You're going to have to read the manga to find the ending. The studio who made it shut down the project. That's why there are no more dubs up to episode 8 or something. We're not going to be able to see season 2. They did it because of the gore as i've heard.
Reading the manga will answer that question to you, but will leave you sad in the end because the manga ends missing 2-3 chapters which would be the end.
For whatever reason this anime stole my heart! In February the manga is being released in north America. Heres hoping it sells well enough for a second season or a reboot! Im sure as hell buying a few copies!
I guess I've gotten somewhat spoiled from watching all of Kill la Kill and some recent episodes of Naruto on Crunchyroll. With that said, I really hate the fact that Crunchyroll seems to be the only site that has reliable quality available outside america. Sure, Crunchyroll is great, but I'm somewhat bothered by the fact that first of all they have multiple shows I can't watch because licensing. And secondly crunchyroll only seems to delve into subbed anime, there are many great dubs out there and most shows I feel like rewatching are the dubbed versions.
I've checked Hulu out, and unless they've changed that recently it's only available in america. And that's not where I live. Netflix however I don't know why I haven't looked into yet.
anime-exceed.com/ Is the top website I go to for subs and www.dubbedepisodes.org/ is the top website I go for dubs, they're really good! Always up to date. Oh wow your comment was 4 months ago xD
May I ask what you're ideal anime would be just for my own curiosity? It's just that sometimes you say you like something in one video but perhaps debunk it in another, maybe due to their genres or how it was created I'm not sure but I am intrigued as to what sort of thing you would rate more highly if there was something that ticked every category.
Yeah dude. At the end of the episode I went out of full screen to click the next episode button but it was greyed out, I was like wait that's the ending?
W8, resumed?!?! But didnt it end? I remember reading the whole manga, and there was an ending, Deadman Wonderland was destoryed and all, and Ganta and Shiro fought.
It's on netflix now (if anyone has netflix you probably know because it was featured at the top of the home page.) Thanks for the review! I was hesitant but I may give it a watch.
OCSleazy It sorta seemed like they forced the introduction/resolution because they had a good setting. I wonder if they were happy with it because there are 10000 ways they could've resolved it better
Daniel Solis Even if it was only one season, the season itself had a horrible ending. If the second season took off from where the first was left it'd be abysmal..
imo the anime was done poorly kinda nice idea but the first episode already contained 7 logical flaws that kinda spoiled the enjoyment makes me think the author is imbecile watch mirai nikki for example it is well done and awesome and the supernatural stuff is believable however the ending is screwed up
I agree with you on that fully, I think some of the animes that are given to us aren't as well thought out as what we hope for it to be. I mean making mistakes are the fundamentals of making a better anime, am I right? Ha-ha. Maybe the same artist/company will take our feedback's and fix the errors in it, and who knows maybe he/she/they might end up giving us something that we actually wanted more of instead of just winging it and "going with the flow" as one might say. The anime itself wasn't bad, but it could've been better, I understand where you're coming from though, Andy.
Me personally, i wouldve given the anime a 6/10. I dont think the show is bad, but there are few BIG issues that drag the enitre anime down. Getting the positives out of the way first, the first 3-4 episodes were amazing, they present to you this setting which is insane, and the overall premise is a cool one. Seeing ganta surviving these sick carnival games in episode 2 for peoples amusement is awesome. When his powers are introduced and he has his first deadman battle against crow, this is were things progressively go down hill. The premise of surviving a prison which acts as a amusement park for the public is thrown away and is then set from then on in a generic secret lab setting from 3/5 point, where he is now suddenly drafted into a resistance within 1 episode, almost all the way to the end by the 2nd to last episode. So many plot elements are never explained (which i wont spoil, if you've seen the show youll know what i mean), the overall tone of the movie is switched and it never really recovers and it all just seems rushed by the end. People give this animes ending shit, and to be honest it deserves it. I havent felt that unfullfilled from an anime in a long time and the sad thing is that there will never be a follow up series nor a remake. If you have access to the american version of netlfix, id recommend you check it out. The first few episodes are worth it. Now its a question of wether if i should bother with the manga or not
It would be nice to get a season 2, but to flesh it out properly, you'd need 3 seasons. Season 1 works fine as is. Season 2 can cover the Ninben and that story arc, then season 3 covers the attempt to fix the Mother Goose System
I haven't seen this show but since this show only covers the first 5 volumes of the manga and the manga goes all the way up to 13 volumes (ironically the same amount of episodes of the anime) does the manga have a better ending than the anime since according to the review here it is a poor ending?
+ItsSynchronize That is, assuming that nobody picks up the rights to make an adaptation of the Manga (which I think someone will eventually, given how stellar the Manga is).
It his opinion dude. You don't have the right to make him quiet for something stupid. Yes it fine for you but other could disagree. There is no right. there is no wrong. It's all a matter of opinion.
Oh please dont watch it dubbed.. You lose so much of the story dubbed and I just cant take reviewers seriously if they watch it dubbed. They actually sometimes change storylines (Like Code Geass) in dubbed versions.
Yes they do. Since there arent good translations for certain Japanese proverbs and whatnot, they actually cut out scenes from the Japanese anime. I live in Japan and its common knowledge, and actually kind of mocked among Japanese howmuch American companies change the anime. (f.e. The backstories behind the names in Dragonball)
ive watched Code Geass several times in both dubbed and subbed and i didnt notice any changes, so if you noticed some that i didnt notice could you point them out to me please, im actually legitimately curious Edit: i actually i noticed some dialogue changes but i didnt notice anything major

Don't you just hate "Read The Manga" endings?
Yes but omfg the manga is so good how the fuck does this not have a second season but high school dxd has its third #sexsells
TheMerk52 Make that #sexsellsinjapan as it is popular here in the US and people demanding a sequel.
#berserk #25 Episode Trailer for the manga
i don't want to and that doesn't give the anime an excuse to suck :)
manga made deadman wonderland a lot more enjoyable, but the anime for me was amazing till they declined to air a second season.
*Btw, the anime had to stop because the manga went on hiatus for several months.*
And trust me, the manga explains _everything_ about Shiro and also explains why Ganta doesn't remember Shiro, through clever use of plot to provide us with flashbacks.

RandomGirl119 That was an expedient reply! I shall look into it!
The manga was so good, a million times better than the show
Seventh Swell I too hate shoes, im more of a sandal person.

Started reading it and I love it.
Where can i read it i can find it anywhere
I mean I might have to read the Manga because I just finished watching the anime and what the f*** was that how are you going introduce Mysteries and then just not answer them
Why do so many series get one season and then it's like " we're done read the manga"
+Rashotcake ikr?
They were gonna make a second season, but The Studio went bankrupt, so they are out. Manglobe is gone, Gansta wont get a 2nd season either
ItsSyncronize
wouldn't have happened if the little shits in Japan acknowledged this awesome series like we westerners did...
The Warbringer ikr
Because animation Is not as fun to make as It is to watch.
Why do horror anime have such incredible openings?
And endings

I finished it yesterday it was actually good!
***** Well I didn't really like the ending it really pissed me off but the rest was really good
+Jasmine Martinez Yeah it's a shame the show didn't do well enough in Japan. You can see they set up the plot for a 2nd season. I wouldn't have minded some more screen time. Just tought that kid how to use his Ganta gun right too *sigh*
+Jasmine Martinez Whoops I thought you were talking about Deadman Wonderland ahaha
"Whiny little kid with extreme angst, who happens to have super powers"? Eren Jaeger, is that you?
Chara Dreemurr Even though this made me laugh it's a bit of an insult to Eren; he for sure is not as annoying as Ganta.
The are the same voice actor in the sub lol the irony
@@hanaomer1828 not anymore
Got a Shinji Ikari vibe.
dang.. you were kinda harsh on Ganta.... I mean, his life was ruins, he's gonna have setbacks in overcoming his problems.. I couldn't blame anyone who just gave up in that situation
fantasyxyay right I feel bad for Ganta ☹️
Nah fuck ganta hes a coward... Read the manga so you understand
This anime's ending is really unfulfilling.
that set up for a never gonna happen second season tho
Read the manga it gives you a conclusion that actually fits(in my opinion)
Read manga here :D mangafox.la/manga/deadman_wonderland/v01/c001/1.html
@Willz __ No they meant the actual last episode where it looked like they were breaking out
@@vitriolic9888 Yea I was told to do so by another watcher but I felt unmotivated cause of how they mislead me with that ending lol and it happened before with "Classroom of the Elites" which only made a show to make the manga popular so after season 1 there was no reason to do a season 2 😭
3:00 you clearly know nothing about the Japanese legal system. They'll spend weeks "interrogating" you for a confession. Most people confess just to get out of that living hell, even if they're innocent. Their conviction rate is something like 99.8%. I wish I was joking, but it really is that terrible.
it really is sad
Stalin? Never heard of it.
Only that dead man wonderland made it look cooler
I actually thought the same although I would say weapons like that are common. A swinging sword is a cool idea I guess. (Like sabimaru from bleach)
Swords are BOOORING. Why not rorating sawblades
Or make nails grow out of your Body which can penetrate trough everything. Defensive and offensive.
Iris Confusion Holy hell I like the way you think.
The fucking Ace Attorney skit killed me XD
Subbed ^^
+Zeus Rei IKR XD
+Zeus Rei Herp derp...also Guilty XD
+Zeus Rei Literally just seen it and holy goddamn it's hilarious, I'm so glad there are many others who can appreciate content such as this!
me too xD
I gues reality is stupidier than we would like to believe
in the manga it explains why he is blamed near the end... kind of
@@TheGouldsGould it was the video
The judge probably took some cash and did the herpy derp move
That’s ok in USA cop arrested a damn 6 yr old
But what I don't get is why does nobody believe he didn't do it?

Orimus Ryzer Bleach doesn't count because it is still ongoing.
LynnJynh9315 The Death Note Ending was awesome sauce! One of the best IMO.
I think Light should have won, for a change of pace.
The theme song for this anime.......................yassss just yes omg just 10/10 yes
Eh. Aka me ha kill s2 intro and Tokyo ghoul s1 are better.
+MrDynamicMan hell no, but I respect your opinion
KAIZOKU ARAB l قرصان العرب lol. some things grow on you. Tokyo ghoul S2 however... Jesus H christ.
I hated the opening at first, but it rly grew on me, it's one of my favs now but at first I found it shit
opening is just WTF
and awesome at the same time
READ THE MANGA. it is worth it since the anime took out at least 4 main characters in the first 3 episodes. you wont regret reading it
I totally agree.

-Soul Eater
-Claymore
-Deadman Wonderland
Cause get what anime studios around the world? The manga is actually DONE now.
I know this was 4 years ago but add akame ga kill to that list will ya?
Claymore is top
I recently watched the anime and i would give it about a 7/10.
The problems i had with this series were
- too many plot holes
-interesting characters in which they could have developed more ( for example Toto, Karako)
-too short
-anti-climatic ending
-could have explained the origin of the powers better.
-forgot about the 3 day rule quite a bit.
I say the same 7/10 but i think if it was popular enough the other characters would had their own episodes like fillers explaining either how they got their powers or how they got aware that they had them the 1st time n learned how to use them but o well not popular enough in japan so its worth continuing the anime :/
(apologies for any grammar errors English is not my main language)
It's okay i enjoyed the comment thank you.
Everyone says that this show has plot holes, but I honestly didn't really notice any. Can somebody explain them to me. (And I'm not saying this to be a pompous jerk. I legitly want to know.)
Tommy Jacobs Well I just finished watching the anime, and I have tons of questions with just Shiro alone
Holy sword Excalibur yeah and they missed out yosuga, she was so damn cute
Satoko Houjo yosuga doesn't show up till near the very end, would be season 3-4 at least.
Big T. Larrity yeah, they fckd around with 70% of the story
Holy sword Excalibur hes op af. you should read the manga.
"Ladies, gentlemen, and others..."
There's a 3rd gender?

What?
Transgender

Hideyoshi.
There were a lot of problems with this show, to be sure. I find the premise relatively interesting though, and Shiro was an excellent character. I would welcome a remake of this at some point that actually respects the audience and the story enough to give it consistent writing and a definitive ending.
There was supposed to be another season, that's why the ending was the way it was. Obviously that isn't going to happen.
Over all
I loved this anime, very similar to Tokyo ghoul in certain aspects
And THE WOODPECKER SONG.
i love the woodpecker song!
You could always read the manga online? mangafox.me/manga/deadman_wonderland/v01/c001/4.html
Emma Cramer listen to the OST while reading the manga from the start, it will probably be in your fav list then for sure
Emma Cramer They didnt make the second because the japanese audience hated it :'c
JusticeFinn it had so much potentional !
Just when I thought the show was being too serious... Shiro entered.
Typically the former.
Love Shiro
she's so annoying
WhiteNoise Nah, she's the most cinnamon roll anime character I've ever seen
Be scared of Shiro ;) *it's my colouring

I just discovered ur channel and I love it.. omg ive been here watching ur videos for about an hour.. lol
Read the manga if you want those questions answered. You can't really judge the ending considering they didn't even finish telling the entire story.
lupefiasco653 I'll be sure to, thanks.
yeah it was really bad how they never said what happened to the guy with glasses or what happened to the wonderland or who was the redman :/
Pixel Melon You don't wanna know who the redman is. Trust me
It's good for the story especially towards the end.
You convinced me to
Ah, I read the manga and wanted to see what you had to say about the anime. Sounds like it would have been cool but I'd have been disappointed by the lack of an ending and had to read the manga anyway.
The manga ties up the story nicely in every way including more screen time for supporting characters. The ending wasn't bad but it left me unsatisfied. Still, everything up to that point was quite epic.
yeah, the anime's kinda a dissapointment in the overall story and character development
william sallaway well that's what happens when you make an anime adaptation of an incomplete manga
yeah
@RuneKatashima"The ending wasn't bad but it left me unsatisfied"are you still talking about the manga? because i thought it is´nt complete yet, is ist? because then i have to buy the 6th volume....
Yup its done now
Don't even watch the anime. Read the Manga. The anime stops mid-way through. The Manga finishes. The anime let's Ganta stay the little bitch he started as, while, the Manga developes him. Okay anime, great manga.
I laughed heartily at the Pheonix Wright bit.
The Phoenix Wright stuff was hilarious 😂😂😂
"Ganta Igarashi came to Deadman in April 2011 for murdering his classmates in a brutal fashion. Outside he was a stand-up student, well liked by his classmates, real decent fella. I must admit I didn't think much of Ganta first time I laid eyes on him. He may have been okay on the outside, but here here was just a little turn in a grey uniform. Looked like a stiff breeze could blow him over. That was my first impression of the kid.."
i really wish i could say ganta fought the good fight.
(Ganta came in 2024 to deadman wonderland, it takes place in the future)

Minarus Infernus you're welcome ^^
rip man globe, we will miss you
No offense Arkada, but i don't think i would get over it if i was accused of killing my classmates and sentence to hell on earth.
I am not a doctor but i think this would pose a serious mental health problem on Ganta. Like rape in a way.
MrPixieWarlord lol :) you're welcome :)
IKR thats what i was thinking, the kid got a serious PTSD
EXACTLY
I can't blame Deadman Wonderland for It's rushed and confusing end since the animation studio
doing the show went bankrupt during It's production of the anime. I hope this show gets a good
reboot from a high end anime studio.
Minatsuki is my dream girl
Holy shit I just read the manga.... if they followed the manga in the anime and continued as so, it would be one of the greatest anime of all time...it is an absolute shame...
ikr :(
omg THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, coulda stopped watching the review after the intro because you literally summed up EXACTLY how I was feeling! I just finished the series and I was like ummm... where's the rest though? And like you said this feeling of 'where's the rest' happens far too often in Anime ! Or at least the feeling of 'I really wish there was more'
Read the manga it has the best ending ever and is my fav manga so far!!
You don't actually wear that readcoat in public, do you? With a fedora?
OHMYF- THE WHOLE ACE ATTORNEY SEGMENT GOT ME SO BAD!! xD
Great content man seriously, I can't even point out a flaw dude, and this is your way earlier content, so hats off to you! Earned yourself another sub!
Blood Bending anyone?
Yes. I'm not the only person who thought of that
Master blood bender is Suitengu from Speed Grapher.
Ganta's hair pissed me off the entire show, it looks stupid and I couldn't take him seriously when he started to go all badass
Lmao
In Conclusion: TERRIBLE ANIME!
XD
TombstoneSMB same
Need more reviews!!!!
Except for in the ending
iiROGUEiiKAKASHIii love your xxxtentacion avi bro...
I so badly love that voice and dress choice. It gives GRArkada such a respectable and intellegent charm. He dosen't come off as demeaning, but often acts quite vividly alongside his speeches
Then I remember for a moment it makes him look like Alfred Ashford, and I'm a bit weirded out.
Questions I was left with:
Was Shiro the one who killed his class?
Will Ganta ever be able to clear his name and avenge his class? (if hes still up for it)
How did Senji wind up in DMW?
WILL THEY EVER RIDE THE FERRIS WHEEL?
if you want all these answers i recommend reading the manga as it answers all of these and more, and has a satisfying end............. but if you dont wanna read it (you should) he answers are *spoiler...................
yes
yes(not up for it)
magic
yes
Yes, yes, not revealed, yes.
I really like your way of reviewing! I'm totally subscribed and can't wait to hear more reviews! :)
"A really good show can be made total shit with a bad ending"
first thing that came to my mind was "How I Met Your Mother" (not anime , I know)
I have to admit the show had me interested the whole way through but it wasn't something that had me still thinking about it more then a week after.
Man you can really appreciate the effort that went into this intro.. Definitely professional studio quality
Glass reflection, do you seriously think someone would "get over" something like that in their life time? This kid witnessed his class get massacred and was sentenced to a life time in hell. No sane person would ever get over that let alone accept it. I agree the show was horrible but this point you made was off.
In the source material, he actually does get over it as he finds himself unable to dwell on it because others count on him too much.
Sam Geuvenen
tbh, I don't remember enough of the show to give a proper argument since I watched it 2 years ago, so let's leave there.
Out of curiosity, did you watch the vid?
LMAOOO That phoenix wright clip was too funny LOLolololJOWOJR
Herp derp a derp, derp a derp derp a derp.
RevanBladeZ Also Guilty.
the pheonix wright part was genius!, OBJECTION!!!!
When Arkada says Ladies Gentlemen and *Others* by others who does he refer to?
transgendered people
People who don't identify as male or female.
This could be anything, from having multipule genders, no gender, moving between genders something that is not male or female, and every kind of gender identity out there.
Hideyoshi.
SillyCrayonZ Presenting; The best comment on RUclips.
Marluxia from Kingdom Hearts
Chihiro from Danganronpa
Krona from Soul Eater
etc.
I agree with this review. But the creator of the manga never finished it! When they made the Anime, never finished manga, if the manga was done, it would be likely up to a range of 15 to 20 episodes for the anime.
and it was fucking incredible
I loved this show and I really hope they make new seasons but if we view this season as being the show in its entirety, it really was a complete package in my mind. Seriously, there was so much character and plot development jammed into 12 episodes with a great story arch overall. For me, its not the lack of questions answered but rather that its a satisfying narrative. What a roller coaster ride. Seriously hope theres a second season.
WE NEED A REBOOT!! THE MANGA IS SOOOOOOOO AMAZING AND DESERVES TO BE MADE INTO A PROPER ANIME AND NOT LIKE THE ONE WE GOT INSTEAD
YES THE MANGA IS AMAZING THE ANIME SUCKS
+AniJan the anime isn't that bad? It just encouraged me to read the manga tbh. So i hold it in high regard.
We all have our opinions.
You are the hank green of anime
LOVE THE PHOENIX WRIGHT PART! x)
5:50
Yeah sure you try witnessing all of your friends get turned into minced meat and get over it in a matter of weeks
I liked the anime, but, I prefered the manga because there was much much more to admire.
This is the first time I've ever seen your show, but I do like it. Nice work, I hope to see more.
This guy....he talks like a god i SUBBED
you know a god!!!!! whats his number i wanna know if im going to hell or not
its garkada...he is god
:D
tatis tatguy not cool those jokes aren't funny comparing the almighty god to a sperm not funny grow up guys respectfully
im sorry if i offended you
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! HE IS CANADIAN!!!
XD
The ending to the original source (The manga) is extremely well done. Resolves a bunch of problems you mentioned
I bet that Madoka Magica is even darker than Deadman Wonderland OuO
you know Deadman wonderland is the kind of show where I think is going to be like Hunter x Hunter 2011. the anime is cancelled but I think theirs going to be a remake for it later in the future with better animation.
Also love the use of Ace Attorney into your review.
Don't quote me on this because it might have come from a faulty source and all that but as I heard it the manga suddenly stopped being made halfway through production ala tokko hence the weird rushed and just plain shit ending, so yeah not likely going to see anymore of this.
justin canu well damn.
you quoted chris titus you are now my favorite reviewer ever
Even though I have not watched this Anime yet still on Ep 2 I want more Deadman Wonderland Season 2. I just want to find out who that red guy was who attacked the school.
You will see in time! just stay away from scene shots. Or anything.
That will get explained my friend. :D
You're going to have to read the manga to find the ending. The studio who made it shut down the project. That's why there are no more dubs up to episode 8 or something. We're not going to be able to see season 2. They did it because of the gore as i've heard.
Purami Well fuck!
Reading the manga will answer that question to you, but will leave you sad in the end because the manga ends missing 2-3 chapters which would be the end.
You should really do Danga Ronpa! Good anime in my opinion!
For whatever reason this anime stole my heart! In February the manga is being released in north America. Heres hoping it sells well enough for a second season or a reboot! Im sure as hell buying a few copies!
is there going to be a second season? this show ended on the biggest cliff hanger i've ever seen.
No
+SenselessBonkai they should remake the whole anime😢😢
if hellsing can do it, dmw can do it but the company burned down
SenselessBonkai what do you mean "The company burned down"?
the studio that made dmw burned down
I guess I've gotten somewhat spoiled from watching all of Kill la Kill and some recent episodes of Naruto on Crunchyroll.
HULU is also a great source, also netflix.
I've checked Hulu out, and unless they've changed that recently it's only available in america. And that's not where I live. Netflix however I don't know why I haven't looked into yet.
kissanime.com/ is best 720-1080p 100% free, uploads dubs and subs of all requested anime
anime-exceed.com/ Is the top website I go to for subs and
www.dubbedepisodes.org/ is the top website I go for dubs, they're really good! Always up to date. Oh wow your comment was 4 months ago xD
I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a comment like "eww, how can you watch disgusting dubs, anime can only be seen in japanese!"
I just finished this and it was good but it should be renamed to Plot hole Wonderland or just the worst ending ever.
It never really ended, it got cancelled before it could continue.
Yeah dude. At the end of the episode I went out of full screen to click the next episode button but it was greyed out, I was like wait that's the ending?
Yeah, alot of people in america liked it but it seemed to tank in japan and got cancelled before it got completed, it made me so sad ._.
Yeah it was a really good show, sad it got cancelled.
Riki Maru Well, manga is finished.
And the ending for it is solid.
Read the manga, much better and is getting resumed soon (atm there are 4 volumes with 5,6 and 7 coming up).
W8, resumed?!?! But didnt it end? I remember reading the whole manga, and there was an ending, Deadman Wonderland was destoryed and all, and Ganta and Shiro fought.
The puplisher in germany released already all 7 volumes and all i can say is that the last 3 volumes are awesome!
I was so mad that they never finished this anime... We never got to learn more about Shiro! ;)
Of course it doesn't air in Canada. 'Murica is the center the universe, don't you know?
FUCK YEAH! AMERICA! EAGLE!
No ✋
CAW
It's on netflix now (if anyone has netflix you probably know because it was featured at the top of the home page.)
Thanks for the review! I was hesitant but I may give it a watch.
no no no. The ending is so bad that it cannot make up for the initial awesomeness.
OCSleazy the manga is a lot better
Arkada are you going review the monogatari series or Eureka 7 sometime in the future.
Read the manga, it's a hundred times better.
Raphaël Lévesque so true
one of my favorites)) Alongside with berserk
Raphaël Lévesque I only read manga cause anime takes too much time to watch :/
imo the anime was done poorly
kinda nice idea
but the first episode already contained 7 logical flaws
that kinda spoiled the enjoyment
makes me think the author is imbecile
watch mirai nikki for example it is well done and awesome
and the supernatural stuff is believable
however the ending is screwed up
the OVA of mirai nikki fixes your problems, you could consider the OVA as THE FINAL EPISODE of mirai nikki
Now its a question of wether if i should bother with the manga or not
The ending with ova is terrible
Not terrible chill out there dummy
It would be nice to get a season 2, but to flesh it out properly, you'd need 3 seasons. Season 1 works fine as is. Season 2 can cover the Ninben and that story arc, then season 3 covers the attempt to fix the Mother Goose System
I haven't seen this show but since this show only covers the first 5 volumes of the manga and the manga goes all the way up to 13 volumes (ironically the same amount of episodes of the anime) does the manga have a better ending than the anime since according to the review here it is a poor ending?
yes the Manga has a better ending, although it could have had some changes here and there
***** You suggest watching the first episode of the anime then read the manga then watch the rest of the anime? Is that right?
Labyrinth reference!!!!
it's sad that this ended in such a terrible ending
it was suppose to have a 2nd season but the company who made it Manglobe, went bankrupt , so no 2nd season for this and Gansta
+ItsSynchronize That is, assuming that nobody picks up the rights to make an adaptation of the Manga (which I think someone will eventually, given how stellar the Manga is).
Sam Geuvenen true
This was the first anime i ever watched, and i've always loved it soooooooooooo much. And i really really really appreciate this review. Thankies.
Be quiet about the world god only knows, you and I both like it, so don't bash on it not being that great of animation, it's fine for me...
No they fucking don't lol.
Yes they do. Since there arent good translations for certain Japanese proverbs and whatnot, they actually cut out scenes from the Japanese anime. I live in Japan and its common knowledge, and actually kind of mocked among Japanese howmuch American companies change the anime. (f.e. The backstories behind the names in Dragonball)
ive watched Code Geass several times in both dubbed and subbed and i didnt notice any changes, so if you noticed some that i didnt notice could you point them out to me please, im actually legitimately curious
Edit: i actually i noticed some dialogue changes but i didnt notice anything major
Well I can assure you that, in Deadman Wonderland, no scenes have been removed and though the dub isn't the best, it's far from bad.
Actually, the dub for DW is better than the sub.
I couldn't stop laughing when the Joffrey picture came up. Classic! XD
When u read the manga and realize shiro is the red man
