Have u ever seen lara dutta, now she has turned fat but still people call her so beautiful but u will not that. Just see catriona and andrea they lost in miss world becoz of their poor performance not poor body as their body shape was same but only they make improve in performance but u will also not see that. The reality is that u have just seen few videos of these pageants and judged them so plz see few more videos of that then u will see that that's just the poor mentality of few contestants not pageants so stop say bad for pageants. These big pageants don't judge people by body shape and size. At these pageants country like Africa, nigera also wins but they don't judge them by colour. Speak nicely okay becoz their are so many comments of people that they like girls who go to army, ias, doctor........ And that's what wrong with india becoz whenever people tries to go in another career like painting, makeup, art, architect or something else artistic then people starts to give gyan that choose nice career like doctor, ias and stop this bullshit and that's where suicide comes becoz a person has to study if he doesn't wanted to, he becomes depressed and then people will blame indian education system.
Unpopular Opinion:A charity is just a small amount of money to hide or justify billions.People like us thought that if this person or organisation is earning it is also giving charity which is the lop hole of the society🙂
Unpopular but hard hitting fact. Tata donates to its own NGO. Ambani donates to his own NGO. Azim Premji donates to his own NGO and his donations are even more doubtful as he is reducing his stakes in Wipro to make sure GOI don't take action against it. And him liquidating his shares goes to his own foundation. I feel like the real charity is done by Gurudwaras and Temples giving out free foods to the poor
@@KejriwalBhakt basically religious places donates the most wheather it be temples or guruduwara or masjid...Im not saying charity is bad but some manipulate that! Its a basic duty of every human to do charity works it doesnt mean he is hindu, muslim or any other!

The beauty standards are so old school ... Miss Thailand got so much bullying online because she looked like she'd gained some weight compared to her national pageant and it made me so mad because I saw her and literally thought how fucking gorgeous is she but all this obviously affected her confidence and it was so apparent that her vibe was different than it was in the nationals
Actually, Mr World compitaion men's ka bhi hota hai, unfortunately we only focus on women, manushi ke sath Mr World bhi Indian hi tha but media didn't focus on that.
They talk about Charity at the time of competition and once their regine is completed , they change.Take a look at Manushi Chillar's life . When she was competing for Miss world she was doing campaigns about Menstrual Hygiene blah blah. But now nothing related to that. Its all fake. She has joined Bollywood.
Even today, the basic concept behind designing clothes and the idea of what is fashionable is based on how that appearance is accentuating your sexuality. Specially with women's fashion.
These pageants give rise to body shaming as they have set a standard of beauty. For them you are beautiful if you fulfil certain criterias kept by them. Like seriously for them beauty only lies in an individual who's 5'7 or 8 and if not then why do you have such height criterias? There are girls who have an amazing modelling spirit but can't achieve their dreams because of height criterias everywhere.
@@raja-jl9os they used to say the same about koreans. But look how koreans are ruling the pop culture now. You know why? Because they set their own beauty standards which suits their race, own quality performances, models and actors of their own nationality instead of importing actresses such as Jacqueline Fernandes (canadian), katrina kaif (british), amy jackson (british)
what pisses me off even more is that people suddenly worship them and try to make them Bollywood stars like since when do they give acting training at beauty pageants? since when are beauty pageant winners fit to be good actors??
Beauty pageants were only introduced to create a fake showpiece for both men and women. That Men should desire for such women and women should desire to look like these role models. This way they make showpieces for cosmetic, fashion, medical companies to sell their products. Example is miss India, after that fair and lovely sales boost up etc. Women appear more sexually(in scientific terms) attractive to both men and women. So they are made to do so with a false hope that they are doing something for the society 😑. A lot of study has been done for this by the psychologists.
Wat u said is known as psy ops.. psy ops operates in different levels . community, industrial and defence..this is probably industrial psy ops..this is to please Indians and India's huge cosmetic and apparal Market whose majority customer is actually women.. secondly..she is deserving for sure but whole stratagem of these beauty peagent competetion seems racial out of understanding..they perfectly chose only Hispanic, indian even the Singaporean finalist is of Indian origin and asian..(east) ..so why this racism against whites?? Like u wanna console us browns?? As if we are dying for these beauty peagent validations..fact is it's toxic and it did gave away awards to many who don't deserved..just coz they belong from poor and third world country.. secondly it's evident that they had to keep one British and one American in finalists..so I very well understood the game

Then came the times when women with thin figures, then with figures like hour glass. Oh let’s not forget how miss universe, had to look “perfect” all the time and smile and be happy and cheery with professional makeup artists and photographers around like tf
This beauty contest is sponsored by big brands . They influence and decide to make which country contestant winner . India with it fastest growing GDP is big market for them so by making Indian winners they hope to increase there revenue in India
Also because for many years India stopped sending contestants for miss universe. Miss universe franchises in every country pays many thousand dollars annual fee.
These companies cosmetic and beauty just want to capture the Indian market as the purchasing power and penetration of these products is rapidly increasing. So by highlighting some Indian on a world stage will result in the attention of many such people in Indian which will also try to achieve these wierd beauty parameters by consuming there products that's it.
Well ma’am many men and women have done so without winning a beauty pageant. So how beauty pageant is related to charity work and was her this inner quality that was judged while being crowned ? No, bcoz Miss Universe doesnot Have any talent or beauty with purpose round. The women are judged in evening gowns, multiple swimsuits rounds, national costume and 2-3 mins q and a round. Moreover swimsuits rounds is mandatory which forces contestants unlike in Miss World, Miss America and Miss Teen USA etc

There is a compition everywhere , 12 years in school, colleges , interview, jobs , marriages, everywhere , not just beauty pageant, and even there too it has standards to meet , a few wins and others loose, we just need to accept we are different not special, we are all average not beautiful.
A THING HAPPENING EVERYWHERE DOES NOT MEAN IT IS RIGHT. CRITERIA OR STANDARDS SHOULD HAVE A VALID REASON. I KNOW AIR HOSTESSES MUST BE TALL TO HANDLE SOME FUNCTIONS OF A PLANE BUT DO THEY HAVE TO BE SPRAKLING WHITE FACE WHATSOEVER?
Such contests are not adding value to our society.... Beauty can't be determined permanently by certain programs...It can't be measured by figures or flaunting bodies or preaching blah blah in one day contest.... Beauty is about inner thoughts , ur attitude towards tough conditions and perseverance ..It would be highly unfair for those who looks ugly or disabled... Beauty is not something static character it always time testing....

I don't know why we give so much damn about these news! They answer philosophical things in the competition and end up being in Bollywood. Recent example being Manushi Chillar. We all know Harnaaz would be making her debut in Bollywood soon. We shouldn't take interest in these stupid things!
I mean male body-building contests do exist, and if anyone thinks it's healthy no it isn't. Staying fit and having fit muscles is, but many do take stuff to gain better muscle mass, strain their heart in excess etc. Not saying none should get a six-pack and stuff, but the point is it should be done over time, building it over, consuming a better and healthier diet, but this isn't followed by many. Even after this, I think it is good, because it at least lets people find examples to be fit, sure not like them, but being fit like that is far better than being obese or overweight, same goes to this too. People might have different opinions and take different professions, but come on people, not everyone will be willing to be a scientist, doctor, or engineer, some people choose to look good, and it's fine. Let people decide what they want to be, as long as they don't hurt others using direct violence (harm principle isn't broken) it's fine. If their talent is in their appearance let them use it, if you have talent in sports, do use it, if you have talent in science or math do use, each person to his or her abilities.
Those are absolutely unhealthy beauty standards. People to get such muscles dehydrate themselves and don't eat any carbs. Healthy six packs are supposed to be covered by a layer of fat to protect them.
@@Nimish204 true, but it's also true that having really fit body (natural, not artificially with steroids and stuff) generally produces more testerone, and then general animal sense of mating kicks in, that's why it's a beauty standard coz it's an evolutionary trait to think that fit males generally have better survival rates and hence have better genes, obviously destroyed by people who want to take shortcuts, but beauty does have some objective traits from the evolution. Sure some people won't like it, and many of us don't like many things, but An Open Letter bhai says this as if beauty contests are completely useless which isn't true. I mean someone can say sports competition is useless too, like playing sports is good, but watching someone play isn't useful, that's how I felt he sounded.
@@pramod_p5 Theres no problem in choosing a talent one wants to present. But according to Open Letter/Comment setting a wrong standard is absolutely questionable. He also mentions at start that, this is a loop of debate. However, moving further he is giving his opinion. Nothing wrong, many of us have an opinion. He's trying to convey the message that 'Question it'. You also mentioned about muscle contests and comparison with sports. You are right. But theres a simple common understanding in the society for activities like... is it benefitting the intellectual and physical well being, is it generating money, is it elevating standards of lifestyle, etc. At particular timelines society will have those opinions in a common context aiming for a common good. Like, few people are aware that a soldier's fitness is far good in every term than a muscle builder; later has a greater force but very less productive than former. Soldiers go through toughest training because the have to ! In sports it was all good till an ideal image of enthusiasm and fitness. Competetions grew by time and in the quest of medals, athletes literally need to shoot their best efforts to target excellence ! If majority people agree to celebrate it, then rest of world has to. This is how everything has evolution in the course of which if we have an opinion with a good intention we believe to benefit the society, then why not give it a try ? I think Open Letter seems to do that.
@@anuragpawar3793 I have np with with Open Letter's opinion, this is my opinion over the video. Being fit is important and yes soldiers are well trained for self defence than a muscular guy in the gym, but it's not about that, I was just speaking about the evolutionary trait on what beauty is, it's just what we developed to find a better partner for ourselves. The point I disagree is that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, which is wrong, a healthy person who is fit and excersing is deemed more attractive (and hence beautiful or handsome) than an obese person, coz it's an evolutionary trait to select a partner who has the best chance to continue the generations, well some will have some weird fantasies and hence can disagree, and I have np with that too. But my point being that beauty is definitely a standard, and it's an evolutionary one which was used to find the best suitable partner. Again artificially inducing it is sh*t, but if some of us are ugly, we are, like own it up is what I am saying, all of us have different skills, talents and goals.
@@pramod_p5 Yes, it is indeed upto individual opinions. Just we need to ensure that people understand insights of it instead of making conclusions and stereotypes. Grownups will try to reason it while kids may decide it on quick observations. Thats where attention is needed. Being a kid many of us thought it was just another fashion show. Either a culture of awareness has to be made or atleast include these topics in secondary school level. Any activity in society which tends to create controversies need their purposes defined first else people have their opinions to define the purpose. 'Purpose' of an activity is undoubtedly most important aspect of discussion; why? cause it exposes facts and doesn't give an easy chance of debate. Well... thats different topic of concern 🤓
Yah we have many examples like Aishwarya Rai, Susmita Sen,Lara Datta etc...these womens proved themselves smarter.so pagents are not about just beauty it's about brain also.

Bilkul sahi kaha apne. Maine bhi Miss Diva me participate kiya tha par mera height few inches less hone k wajah se mai reject ho gayi. Mai apne height badhane ki sochne lagi aur bahut rone lagi aur depressed hone lagi. Fir maine acche se socha ki Bhagwan ne mujhe jitna height diya hai wo bahut hai aur ekdum perfect diya hain & I'm satisfied with it. I wouldn't change my height at any cost😊
SORRY, I DON'T AGREE! Here's why; 1) Pageants by no means support objectification of women. I really ask our countrymen, should 'ma behen ki gaaliayan being so prevalent in the country that too in the age of Feminism 2021' be considered a violation of female dignity or a bikini round that makes a woman feel extremely comfortable in her skin? I agree beauty comes in all sizes and shapes. 2)There are pageants that allow every woman to participate despite height and body shape, since we mark a remarkable win here it's in limelight. Mrs. India bhi hota h and that too for 60 yr plus ladies too. These pageants rather inspire us to crush that laziness and become the best version of ourselves. Women are getting a platform to speak and I don't know why is it bothering some! 3)As far as mental health is considered, each one of us is individually responsible for our mental health sir. BY NO MEANS it imply that only pageant contestants face that. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, no beauty pageant especially in India supports plastic surgery or any sort of unnatural process to mark a win. Priyanka went through surgery after she won Miss World. A pageant winner may appear to win because of her beauty or body but it doesn't work without brains!!
One hand you are showing Neeraj Chopra showcasing his throwing skills and justified that Javelin throw is what world focuses on and on the other hand you are showing Harnaaz where she is also representing India showing her intelligence and cat walk skills. Both have worked very hard on their body to look this fit and both the competition be it Olympics or Miss Universe should have had certain criteria. So are you saying they should include anyone who is unfit to participate in Olympics? Does Olympic champion get to work on his/her social project throughout the year like Miss World or do any social work after winning? Olympic jeetne se kiska bhala hua hai bhai? Have they ever visited places to inspire or educate someone? If you don't know let me tell you in pageantry there is Beauty with a purpose where every country has to bring some purpose that she wants to serve after winning title. Do you have Olympian with a purpose? People work bloody hard to get into BOTH the Olympic and Miss Universe or Miss World so please don't throw shit if you don't know anything about pageantry.
I think you are mistaken. Miss Universe beauties come in all shapes and sizes. 1. 2016: Canada was a plus-sized beauty. She was fat-shamed. Yet she made Top 9. 2. 2019: Miss Universe winner was dark-skinned and had natural Afro hair. Yet she won. People called her out for looking average and called her ugly. She is beautiful, but she didn't comply to the beauty standards. 3. 2021: Bahrain was allowed to compete in MU swimsuit round wearing a jumpsuit instead of bikini to respect Islamic ideologies. From the outside it does look that there is sexualization and objectification, but Miss Universe supports women who are intelligent, confident in themselves and true to themselves. In all, you need to have substance to win a pageant. Only external beauty ain't enough. The value addition: The competition motivates young women to be self-confident, break stereotypes in terms of careers and otherwise.
its the confidence that they reward for. the mentality, the energy , the communication skill, the smile , the will to make their nation on top , they reward for this thing. otherwise why beauty pageants have speech round , the rampwalk round , the nationality round , the introduction round ? they couldve simply put everyone in one frame and decide who is more beautiful than anyone in the frame! and decide who is more beautiful than anyone in the frame .if they wanna judge just by the face, color, body shape etc!1
The whole glamour world including bollywood , hollywood, beauty pageants, modelling world should be stopped being idealised. These people get unnecessary attention and luxury. And people set beauty standards based on their skin, clothes, body which is wrong.
My opinion is they should keep such beauty pegent going but with an update in eligibility criteria. Because this set of rules is age old, the world is far away from these body standards.
I will ne very happy if they bueaty in the dress of harnaaz sandu and her dress designer. And more happy if they also see the cultural style for winning the competition.
Men and women both like looking at beautiful people. Humans are more obsessed with looks than most would admit. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in having such pageants for men and women since other achievements are also now celebrated not just looks related
The problem is not about looks but setting a standard of beauty and beauty doesn't have any standard so how judges could declare that who is beautiful and who is not ??
ya you are right because of this the concept of body shaming is increase. we think ideal figure is only when girl is slim. and these types of competion popularise the idea of ideal figure. to solve this all type of figures should be accepted. because we ourself said that inner beauty is important than outer but we didn"t work on it.

It's not weird bro. Everyone can choose their own field according to their potential. And every field has some criteria to qualify. (Like in Army, if you're too short than they won't select you )
But no one puts stories and idealise a normal army man , youth don't praise them even after knowing that they are serving to our country and on the other hand youth is getting highly influenced by these beauties of bollywood etc and treating them like god

People supporting and talking so noble about beauty pageants, should learn the history of Miss World and other similar pagents. 1)In 1951, women had to be clad in bikinis only to participate in Miss World and the crowning was done in bikinis only. But from 1952 to 1975, due to opposition from women rights groups and the Pope, women wore one piece swimsuit for participating in most of the rounds in pagents including crowning. In1975, some contestants refused to show their backside to the judges clad in swimsuits and due to insistence of Julia Morley and pressure from women groups, contestants from 1976 onwards, were crowned in evening gowns. However swimming suit rounds remained in Miss World until removed in 2015. 2) Till 1970s, tv presenters used to call the women participants clad in swimsuits as calves who have come to a cattle market to be checked by men in dinner jacket. Many women contestants from that era defend such demeaning remark as empowering too 🤦♂️Thanks to some self respecting women contestants who protested and some women rights group who opposed, things changed. Had not there been any opposition, we would have been still seen women in bikinis only parading in all the rounds of beauty pageants and they would have been still called as objects on display in shelves for men’s pleasure: 3) interestingly media and advertisers over period of time have even objectified a movement like women empowerment and have convinced many women that their body is the chief source of their identity and is a capital to be used for fame and name, thereby leading to a notion that for women their physical beauty is more important than their brain . And gradually, women value started to be placed in her physical beauty, not her head. 4) Pageants now a days though claim physical beauty is not all, but as per former a judge of Miss Universe, scoring is heavily skewed towards outer beauty. He has even said that most of the contestants resort to cosmetic surgeries to enhance their bosom and to excel in their beauties. About Q&A round which many claim measures IQ of contestants, it should be noted that this round happens for few minutes at the end among few contestants who reach their after clearing multiple rounds of swimsuit rounds and other rounds which focus on looks and not brain. Even Miss Asia Pacific runner up 1995, Ruchitra Makhni also admitted that unnecessary hype is about Q&A rounds in pageants bcoz most of the answers are well rehearsed, typical and cliche type which hardly measures IQ of a woman. So people can think rationally as to what beauty pageants are meant for and what it contributes towards women empowerment?
Finally someone said this.. Empowerment lies in sovereignty.. How comes parading necked infront of thousands of audience to prove you are beautiful regarded as empowering!!??.. ,not worth it man , also no way this is empowering..a human's beauty lies within... To prove myself beautiful or empowered i need to parade in bikini its not empowering, its slavery.. Also every woman is beautiful in natures creation.. Such kind of shows should not exist.. The reality is that u have just seen few videos of these pageants and judged them so plz see few more videos of that then u will see that that's just the poor mentality of few contestants not pageants so stop say bad for pageants.

Thanks a lot for the in-depth video about beauty standards created by only and only us...........
Ture ! at least someone talks about the reality 😃 and not just believe blindly

I feel the same way but you explained it very nicely .
My opinion is they should keep such beauty pegent going but with an update in eligibility criteria. Because this set of rules is age old, the world is far away from these body standards.

Men and women both like looking at beautiful people. Humans are more obsessed with looks than most would admit. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in having such pageants for men and women since other achievements are also now celebrated not just looks related

Had not there been any opposition, we would have been still seen women in bikinis only parading in all the rounds of beauty pageants and they would have been still called as objects on display in shelves for men’s pleasure:
3) interestingly media and advertisers over period of time have even objectified a movement like women empowerment and have convinced many women that their body is the chief source of their identity and is a capital to be used for fame and name, thereby leading to a notion that for women their physical beauty is more important than their brain .
I had also similar opinions about these kind of fashion shows or beauty contests.
This is pure gold...brother

@@raja-jl9os bhai, kya nasa phoonkte ho ?? 😅😅😅that u bring this kind of comparison . If bikinis and saree r sane, then let the contestants wear saree and participate in swimsuits round and let’s see how the viewership plummets and how many from India win pageants ??
@@lifethruvideos mene kab bola bikni pahno m sirf bol rha hu sari m kmar dikhta h salvar suit pahna karo 🤒
bahut achi video thi yrr!!
One of my friend do beauty pageants.
So, I did this answer for her interview.
Honestly through her experience I got the knowledge how actually glamour or media industry look like :/
Dislike button don't work, nowadays
Glad someone make a video on that
I had same views for beauty pageants
There's always two sides of coin. txs for making this video
Sahi baat he sir.. Jb niraj ne gold jita tha to sbko proud feel hua tha or sh unke jesa banna chahte he... Kuki vo samaj ko bahoot kuch sikhate he... Pr jis competition me plastic surgery karke beautiful banate he.. Usse samaj glt chize sikhta he.. Logo pr galat impact padta he. Sb unke jesa banne ke liye apne figure ko kharab kar lete he.. 😔😔
Yeah... And also some beauty pageant's ask for fees like 50-80k which is very much impossible to pay... And height is the biggest barrier ... :(
Well said, sir... 👏
Wohhh!!completely different approach!!:)
you have a point!!
I feel these beauty contests are non sense and is all about to grab the market of developing countries who have bright market.
Objectification happened right after when this video judged her with her swim wear round pictures and not with the traditional wear, evening gown and question/answer rounds.
Because with this logic we should stop cricket or any other sports as well because it doesn't contribute to anything and more over those who can't play due to health issues or any other issues may also feel inferiority complex right?
Thank God! Finally logic in the comment section.
@@priyankagohel6454 thanks ☺️
@@love-dk7ii you also lack brain.
cricket and other sports are useless of course but the strength and agility behind it is very much useful.
who cannot play due to health issues? blind people, deaf, disabled people?
PARALYMPICS IS THE ANSWER.
U can be a good player with practice. But can u change ur genetics to look like beauty contest winners?
Yes well said 👏
I THINK THE SAME FROM STARTING. BUT IT FEELS SO RECOGNISED TO SEE THAT YOU THINK THE SAME.
Meri bhi same thought hai
Actually meaningfull video
Reason I like your video😌, you always made me think about problem.
what about professional body building ?
Body building is a sport

Hey if we look at it then every selection process has some standardization...n it should be..there are pros n cons to everything..doesn't mean every competition should be stopped.
Anything that is causing more harm to society at large should be banned like Victoria secret fashion show was stopped bcoz it used to promote unhealthy standards of beauty and became harmful for society

Sir, m apki sbhi baato aur opinion se shmt hu aur shayad esliye kyuki m u ke baare mai Jada nhi anti lykin beauty contest ko mne kaafi krib se dekha h .....
1)Beauty\plastic surgery--beauty contest sirf sundrta pai depend nhi h agr aisa hota to African lady kbhi miss universe nhi banti
2) Height-Agr mai army ya foj ko dekhe vha bhi height li jati kyoki jaha aap ja rhe h vha k liye aapko physical fight hona bhut jruri h...meri height 4'11 h m Puri kosis kri hu k m miss universe k liye ready ho Pau...agr m haar bhi gyi to mujhe crown na milkr mujhe mera physical development milega
3)Age--Again air force ,army, foj hr cheej ya hr kaam krne ki ek umr hoti h ye bhi aisa hi h
4)single--miss universe ,miss india ...inke naam Mai hi *miss* h yha marriage lady kse AA skti h ..... marriage women k liye bhi contest h vo mrs.title le skti h.
Hr cheej ka ek time hota h aur uss person mai uss kaam ki vo saari quality hona bhut jruri h agr aapke paas vo h nhi eska mtlb ye nhi h k uss perticular cheej ka criteria glt h .....glt h aapka najriya Jo aap apne bacho ko sundr dikhane k liye surgery krate h na ki unka talent bdhate h ye unki beywakufi h jo ye se sochte h lykin beauty pageant aisa nhi h aap vha criteria hr round ka ek meaning h jo apko
Khod pr confidence aur atmviswas krna sikhata h
Dhanyawad 🙏
sameee thoughtss truly with you

Many people say this is women empowerment
If women like to be objectified, we men are no one to question them.
Then those women should not complain of being objectified
@@lifethruvideos Exactly 😎😎.. Look at insta reels. Most of them are women objectifying themselves. 😂
