    Your comment, "I did this already, so I'm not going to show you," was exactly what I was looking for. I can't get this nut out. What kind of a tool did you use to get that nut out? I was so hopeful when I saw your video, but you skipped over exactly the part of it I was looking for. I hope you see this comment and can reply. Thanks very much.

      @@kedarjoyner2861 I wrote to Speed Queen and asked them. They told me to use a 5/16" nut driver. I got the tool at ACE Hardware (Craftsman). It's a thin nut driver. I went to other hardware stores, but the help didn't tell me the right thing. The guy at ACE knew what I was talking about.

    I agree the shortest length exhaust tubing; preferably solid and not flexible as shown. Simply removing the cover for lint on the floor is inadequate you need to see inside the filter housing and follow through to the exhaust. No dig just some additional advice for those.

  • @aliso-pv7ll
    @aliso-pv7ll 4 года назад +2

    After you remove the bottom front access panel, by removing the 2 5/16" screws, you can easily remove the air duct assembly, the part that holds the lint filter, by removing 3 #1 phillips head screw that can be seen in the cabinet just below where the lint filter would seat. The 3 screws are one in the center and 1 at each extreme. After removing with the dryer experience you have , you will know what to clean of lint. Do you know of a way to get to the heating element in case it might need replacing? Thanks for your informative video.

    Vertical dryer lint vent tube is a fire hazard. It is not a good idea to say the least! In some states insurance companies won't cover you in the event of a fire. Get a dryer lint box and clean in out after every cycle.

    What's the best way to clean the screen on the back, top-left? Mine gets "gunky" and needs cleaning about once a year

    • @NJroute22
      @NJroute22  2 года назад +1

      Not sure - that seems to be a tough one. Maybe taking the back panel off? Either way - it shouldn't get gunky. What kind of detergents are you using? Are you washing greasy things in your washing machine?

      @@NJroute22 Thank you for the reply!
      About once a year, I take it off and clean it with a drill and a wire brush, and it's been happening since the machine is new and as it's my first gas dryer, I though it was normal...
      We use Arm&Hammer HE liquid detergent and HE Downy. Maybe we are using too much of it? Or we should try different brands? Or maybe should I try painting the panel with high temperature paint?
