No more consoles is a redicolous statment, xbox is only providing the cloud gaming option which is by far the lightest catalogue of games provided by game pass compared to games pass console and PC. Also to note xbox game pass / cloud gaming can be side loaded onto the majority of smart TV sets, this is not a new capability.
All good points. It was mostly directed at the market Microsoft is going for by implementing this....the casual gamer who may not have a console or those on the fence for buying one. Now they can have a good time without a big purchase. Appreciate the feedback!

And Game Pass has become a wasteland anyway with rising fees and the loss of day one access. So tell me, what are you really defending...your giant black cube that sits on your TV stand.
Very bad concept. Great for innovation. But bad because we will never own anything. One week will have GTA 6 then next they can take it away. Having a console and a disc/ physical copy means “it’s yours”.
It's rough for sure. Lost several games to "onLive", a couple to Stadia, but also will be in the same boat if any PC storefront at this point shuts down too.

@@D3ZG1978 The game developers, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and so on. Just as some games are 20% off this month then, free the next. All they have to do it shut down the servers and the game is no more. Like old, old online games.
They even added a Prime Day bundle for it with xbox controller, fire stick and 1 month of gamepass. Would definitely say for single player gaming more.

How does it compare to Stadia's performance? I used to be able to play games without any problems with a sub 50Mbps cable broadband connection. Even cloud gaming on my Xbox Series S doesn't perform as well as that. I wonder who bought Stadia/Google's streaming tech?
I want to do a little more testing since we tried it day 1, but I feel that Stadia did better and Luna feels a little better too as of right now. Last I saw, google was trying to license the tech to partners.
I have a feeling it will just add a few more players to the ecosystem that already have fire sticks instead of using a computer or phone. More simplicity and less effort for people
Wouldn't be surprised if they were doing server updates or something, I think it was down a few days before launch. As usual, nothing said as to why. Curious as to how many new players this adds vs players that already have it and just playing on a new tv.

Microsoft needed to make their own Xbox TV box like Apple does. Then you ca. Access Game Pass just like you can with Apple Arcade

Its ok for games like persona or Octopath but i would not play a "real" game on it.
Pretty much just stick to mostly single player.... Some games with more forgiving combat like a lot of open world games seem to do well enough
It’s official, Xbox is dead and there is no point in owning an Xbox Series console. PlayStation has officially won the console race thank goodness.
Sony has been in the lead for a while. I think we will have 1 more console cycle and that will probably be it.
