It's like Blair Witch... if it was a multi-million dollar movie, with real actors and a film crew, and that's what you got, is sucks. But for a few people, some camcorders, and $60K, it's awesome.
Still cars movies need more action like.. First 1974 - Gone in 60' sec or if that is too long maybe the Bullit or Le Mans (with Steve McQueen) "Joshua three" - with Dolph Lundgren driving an F40 chased by police chef in an Lambo Countach.. or > Smokey & the Bandit.. all are rated as best movies with cars ! ;0)
This is awesome! I was actually an extra in that movie, did the drag racing scene where Leoni shows up and I was a part of Derek's aka Quattro's crew. That was filmed on Spring St in LA. They paid the extras $1 dollar to be in that scene. It was a crazy night! we raced from 6pm to 4am. They did have the streets blocked off, so it was semi-safe, but there was a nasty crash with a mustang crashing in between a telephone pole and a building that ended filming that night, the car was totaled but the driver was ok. I was at a battle of the imports at LACR when they came up to us and asked if we would like to be in a movie. Great memories good times!
I was also there. It was a fun night. We were also approached the exact same way at LACR! At the filming, we were lining the right side of the street in the scene until it was our time to race. I was in my 1997 Accord Coupe manual and lined up with a 300ZX TT for my 2nd run and I remember the flagger insisting on giving me a head start. I told him no 3x and then I finally purged my nitrous so he'd understand why I didn't need a jump and he'd just run us. That guy and I were headed back around to run it back (the Z didn't like the result) when that Mustang crashed. If I remember, right the Mustang was either the only or one of the only non-imports that showed up. Typical Mustang. Maybe this is where the stereotype started hahaha?

He built a School Bus into a rig to transport his race cars so if the pigs show they'll see a School Bus not a pickup truck with a race car trailer hooked up to it LMAO. Definitely takes his street racing seriously.
As much as it screams low budget (because it is, and that only makes it better) it’s extremely genuine, and really doesn’t fool around with fluff. For what it is, it definitely didn’t deserve 2 stars.
I want to make a movie where the characters are working on a mustang and then say “we need to overnight parts from Japan.” And then it cuts to an outside shot of O’Reileys
It’s amazing they were able to find a B5 S4 that lasted the entire filming. It seems like every 2.7t S4 from that era either has every possible bolt on in order to smoke those factory snails even faster or they’re listed for sale for far too much because at one point one of the owners was intelligent enough to actually replace the OEM turbos especially with the average mileage you see these things with

Fun fact "Leone" was a background actor on the fast and furious and his crx was used to dub the sound for Brian's eclipse. And yes that's him in true life

There were 2 of my favorite Scenes in this Movie. 1st being when Derek rolled out with his a4 (i dont believe it was an S4, but more of a 1.8t quattro powertrain) with the american Flag in the background. And of course i loved the karate / garage scene so much, that i copied it with my buddy (who hasnt seen the Movie) when i put a K04 Turbo on my mk3 Scirocco... It's funny they called Derek slime ball. I used to know a guy who raced his orange crx and went by the name slime ball. It was relatively quick for back in the day. If I remember correctly, it had a built h22, was all motor and ran low 11s on the street.
The cinematographer of this “movie”, Derek Cianfrance, went on to direct “Blue Valentine” and “The Place Beyond the Pines”. Weird.
Humble beginnings
“Place beyond the Pine” was not bad 👍🏼
@@jamesvetteran6535 wdym it was perfect it had ryan gosling im literally him
This movie is going to get an IMDb audience rating boast after this.
Imagine people renting it out more now and the producers making money on it
I admire a dad that gets straight to the point. 😂
If I had a son I don't think my son's gf would have the same reaction if I told her that line 😂
Dope to wake up to a new upload🔥Actually just got hired at Valvoline so todays sponsor was in perfect timing. Excited to start this new job it’s nothing fancy but it’ll put food on the table for my son without me having to risk my freedom for some cash. Hope y’all having a good day so far💯
Good luck at Valvoline !
Can you try to get them to do NY state inspections at all shops again?
Its like the camera guy forgot all of this lenses at home and he only had his 300mm telephoto lens and they were like "Fuck it" so every single shot of character dialog is just their entire face filling the whole frame.
he paid for the zoom so he's gonna use all of it
@@pavulon5000 Right lol. Telephoto lenses are big bucks.
Joey Curtis wrote here in the comments that this is a Romeo and Juliet story… Black Gerald revving on Derek at the gas station immediately reminded me of Mercutio’s gas station showdown in Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of Romeo + Juliet… I just looked on IMDb and I’m happy to report these movies are on equal footing according to the metascore
Was most of the movie shot like this, in a sort of candid and/or hidden-camera style? That's kind of dope, actually.
Agreed. Kinda like the Blair Witch Project of car movies.
This type of film called guerilla filmmaking. I remember first hear g a out this style from a move that was filmed in Disneyland.
@Don't Read My Profile Photo sorry but I can't read :/
Thumbs up for donut making their own F&F movie. I will lend them my B5. 😂 it’s a sleeper A4 with a V8 that looks stock
The original Fast and Furious actually drew a lot of influence from a Hong Kong movie called “Legend of Speed.”
My mom bought a "christian" version of Fast and the Furious when I was a kid. Wish I could find it. It was hilarious.
🤔 hold the bus. A Christian version of "Fast and the furious?" Is that like Amish kids racing horses and buggies in the mean streets of Hershey PA?
@@WALTERBROADDUS man this needs to be a movie rn lol
It's called "Cars"
There is also a soft porn movie, Maximum Thrust, but obviously we are not gonna see a reaction video from Donut about it.
@@WALTERBROADDUS injecting the horses with all natural oils for boost😭
You guys need to review Superfast. It's literally a parody of Fast and Furious movies. That would be hilarious
Yeah bro it’s so funny😂
Freaking funny movie for sure 🤣🤣
Gotta rewatch, I only remember the dance scene right now haha
Yeah that movie was great
Dear Donut Lord James, please review Two Lane Blacktop with Nolan. One of the greatest car movies ever, you guys will love it!
There’s a movie called Street Racer. I think you guys would like to review as well. Just to keep this series going. Donut Media is GOAT!!!! Mo Powah Babeh!!!!!
Thanks for the great video, I enjoyed it! Welp, guess Imma bone out and catch ya guys later.
Epic
😂😂
10:22 In the game Midnight Club 2 Nikko said the famous line "When i began racing I did a 13 second quarter mile, but if I don't do 10's or 11's now why bother"
We seriously need to try and find whoever made this movie and ask them to be on the show with the Donut Team! That would be so rad🤘
facts
I'm right here my dudes. And I would love to come on with my old buddy Leone and tell all the crazy stories of how we made this Docu-Fantasy and survived! There were actually two real crashes, one during a street-racing night and the other on a back rode in Hemet when my homie Kev flipped his Integra (rear blow out) right in front of me when I was chasing him in the Quattro! A giant dust cloud blew up in front of me like when you shoot a space ship out of the sky in Star Wars and fly through the firey debris!
I gotta check this one out now! Also incredistoked for the DRS!!!
DRS DRS
Why you guys aren't being hired to create entire advertising campaigns for companies baffles my mind. I LOVE YOUR ADS!
James.. please build a couch set. It just looks like torture to have to sit at this desk looking down at a laptop for hours
Call it "The casting couch"
Yess!! They do got that flat screen or maybe they could get a projector
Actually, the "Ya hear that son, it's the sound of America" is probably one of the best movie lines I've ever heard. Everything else though 😬
That was so cheesy, it was worse than cheese Wiz... 😏🧀
Ik I’m late but that CRX @6:00 is where they got sound clips from for Brian’s eclipse
Have to say congrats on Valvoline sponsorship, great stuff and other than some Luces is all I use on everything. 👍👍
I love it when you guys review bad car movies. You should consider doing full length movies and commentate through it. Just like Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Wild! Appears that Quattro is played by Garth Brooks' alter ego Chris Gaines, I didn't know he was acting now.
I forgot that I had seen this movie, probably rented it from a blockbuster in the mid 2000s, but the “stealth mode” line brought it all back. I definitely used to go into “stealth mode” when doing a ricer fly-by on my friends back then.
Pretty sure he thought that by making this movie he could fund his mods and pays his tickets. Genius!!!
Reminds me of the original two Getaway in Stockholm movies but put character development into it too
11:35 laughing with tears for a solid 15 minutes, absolutely hilarious! 🤣
this is giving me vibes of my buddy from 1999 having thee fastest fox body mustang in town and trolling guys all night barely trying and beating them at street races just like this.
Movie takes me back to when life was simpler and i love it.
Low key donut media editors fit toots and farts in all the time and I'm here for it
You guys have such great videos. The comedy is hilarious. The part where you bleeped your words was the best.
Check out the street racing machines in the music video: Scooter; The Logical Song.
Looks like a blown mercedes 😳
So hilarious you guys reviewed this movie. My wife has seen it and actually likes it. She use to say, hey remember that Quattro movie!😄 I guess in a way we are like the chick and dude from that movie.🤣🤣
haven’t watched yet but I already know this is going to be great keep up the great work
What is the name of the movie where a guy crashes his sponsors car and then leaves one side of America.
He then has a white wrx sti and has beef with a guy that is in a black mustang and they hassle him all the time and then at the end they race down the quarter mile and the mustang crashes and he is pulled out of his car by the wrx driver and it blows up just after they are away from it
I had to find the movie - it streams free on TUBI.
You can tell this is old - Gas was like $1.61 a gallon in California.
I didn’t know it was ever that low. Must’ve been the best of times to build cars🥲
@@srbboys5090 When I was 16 I distinctly remember gas being $0.86 a gallon at this one Chevron I drove past all the time and I'm sure it wasn't the cheapest in town, it just sticks in my head for some reason.
I don't know about the movie. But, that was definitely the best oil commercial ever.
Yellow bar during the ad guys! Come on!
That “Are you having Sox with my son?” Made me laugh so hard my kids were like? What the heck are you watching
I think this was the funniest episode you guys have done. I actually was laughing out loud. You guys are awesome. Thank you guys for this, lmao
Same I was lol
This movie is actually kinda legendary, the bald white guy with the crx appeared in mtv's true life I'm a street racer. And the sound of his crx was used in the fast and the furious.
"Black Gerald" got me every time 🤣
“Vanishing Point” is the best car movie ever made. Hands down!
Yeah i hope they talk about it at some point
it has the original and the remake, 1971 and 1997
@@melonsdad7498 he's talking probably about remake of 1997. When i saw that movie 20 years ago, i saw Challenger first time in my life "i'm from Europe" and fell in love with it, best commercial for Challenger
@@sanavip remake is pretty mid tier the whole point of the original was he had nothing to lose in the first place. in the 97 tv film he lost everything during the course of the movie for us audience drama. the og is top tier though.
You guys make the only ads I actually watch
This is awesome! I remember finding this movie and watching and freakin loving it! It’s awesome y’all feel the same way I do abt it. It feels real and also actual car guys made it. When people use the terms “hidden gem” or “diamond in the rough” this is abt as good as it gets imo!
I was feeling down before watching this video but now I feel a little bit better thanks 👍
i hope you'll feel better bud
Thanks man
What god forsaken place can you get a ticket for exhaust and "lowered vehicle"
it would be cool if you guys reacted to some acceleracers movies. those were my childhood
Fr bro lol
