    Amber you said you liked reading comments, well I hope you like this comment that I'm about to make.
    It's an excellent thing that we still have youth such as yourself that are proactive enough to develop good habits and skills such as cooking that will take them far in life. I was really impressed at how down to earth your attitude and spirit are, which gives off a lovely wholesome radiance from you. Don't stop cooking and loving what you do because it does leave a positive impression on people.

    200 degree celsius // 180 degree Fahrenheit. I'm no mathematician but that conversion seems a bit off.

      Both oven temps as displayed are incorrect.
      To convert from C to F:
      multiply by 9
      divide by 5
      add 32
      Therefore to convert 180C to F = 180Cx9/5+32 = 356F
      To convert from F to C:
      deduct 32
      multiply by 5
      divide by 9
      Therefore to convert 350F to C = 350F to C = 350-32x5÷9 = 176F
      Unless the flour is 100% wholewheat, it is only marginally healthier than white enriched wheat flour as regular wholewheat flour contains a high percentage of white enriched wheat flour

    I graduate as a doctor next year, and I'm always talking to people about healthy eating. Watching this video, it just occurred to me that I should be directing people to RUclips, to convince them that eating healthy can be easy and taste this good. Everyone thinks the recipe is super complicated and they're really impressed... But it's really not that difficult! Thanks so much, Jamie. This is one of my new favorite recipes.

    I've been making Chicken Nuggets like this for years. Only, I swap the flour and eggs with olive oil then coat with the ground cornflakes. My kids love it. Their friends order it for lunch or supper when they come over. And ... there's no frying (which I love) so all in all healthy and happy.

    great video No kid would say no to this.. I used to make this fried for my daughter, It was great to get the hint of putting the dolop of olive oil in the crumbs to help with browning in the oven. Doing it the oven way is not only healthier. but less cleaning up as well. I find when I fry, The stove top has to be cleaned. Less dishes as well. What a winner

    Put the cornflakes in a zip lock bag, then put the egg dipped chicken in the bag and shake. It is less messy, and kids love shaking to the music.

    • @kribusjoe
      @kribusjoe 9 лет назад

      ..though all those zip lock bags are not really good for the environment, and you can get the same job done without them ;) Guess it's a very European thing, to think like that lol.

    • @EricNoob50
      @EricNoob50 9 лет назад

      +Kristian Busch Yah, why don't you go back to the bronze age and dispose all your technology. Very good for the environment indeed.

    • @kribusjoe
      @kribusjoe 9 лет назад

      YouDeadNowXD excuse you, why are you so defensive? I'm just pointing out that maybe you don't have to use a bag for a job you can do as easy without it. Just like I wouldn't take my car to the nearest store because it would actually be faster to walk the distance. It might end up do you some good to think about the world around you sometimes :)

    • @EricNoob50
      @EricNoob50 9 лет назад

      ***** May I ask whom am I being defensive against? You seem to be a bit aroused after I express my thoughts and opinions and retaliating, thinking i'm attacking you with your ingenious idea of using a "car" which took faster to extract the raw materials than it took to form (millions of years). Thinking a lot for the world I see.

    • @kribusjoe
      @kribusjoe 9 лет назад +1

      YouDeadNowXD well against my comment. You seemed very offended that I suggested to think about the environment, since you felt the need to suggest my going back to the bronze age.
      Btw, was that your "thoughts and opinions and retaliation" ? I'm not quite following you here.
      I don't know what a "car" is. I do know what a car is though. And I really don't understand the last half of your comment... It just doesn't make any sense?? "A "car" took faster than extracting raw materials than it took to form."
      I'm lost... Or is your grammar a bit lost? I'm sorry, but I'm not a native English speaker, so missing grammar can really confuse meanings for me - if that is the case here.. if not, you're just not making any sense I guess!
      Anyways, you do you. Have a great day :)

    Hi Pukka Mulla! Lol
    Thank you for this video.I have tried to make these chicken fingers.I used coconut oil instead and wholemeal spelt flour.I don't think I added enough salt and I used ordinary paprika.
    Tasted a bit dry but I think I'll get there, lol , at 48! I know you probably won't even see this..Apart from my fruit and veg ice mixes I make for my daughter who is seven and currently severely autistic..And, now organic chicken fingers.Since turning autistic as it seems, I could do with some tips, please.If you wouldn't mind and as simple as.possible.Not slot, lol

    Awesome to see healthy cooking. I am trying to cook healthier for my family and I am SO happy to see that you dedicated your channel to doing just that. Awsome job Amber. I will definitely subscribe! I also want to know- if I use a cookie cutter to making shaped nuggets, does it affect cooking times. How should cut my chicken to start? +Amber Kelley

    At 3:19 you mention making them in a batch in advance and putting them in a freezer: does this mean you prepare them as if you'd want to fry/bake them but instead freeze them uncooked? Or do you actually fry/bake them and and then put the "finished product" in the freezer and they're just heated up again when you eventually want to eat them?

    • @AmberKelley
      @AmberKelley 9 лет назад

      +viveladecadence I would freeze the finished product. Thanks for watching! :)

      +Amber Kelley (Cook With Amber) Thanks for the quick reply! I actually made them yesterday and they were fantastic! If I made them in the oven again I'd maybe just add a little more oil to the flakes cause they're at risk of getting slightly dry when prepared that way. But still they're truly great, which also means I currently don't have any left to put in the freezer. :)

    Jamie's passion for sweet potatoes is great. He suggests swapping them out once a week, but I just dont understand why he doesnt suggest it every day. Sweet potatoes are a superfood that tastes absolutely amazing. They kick regular potatoes asses, he needs to tell people to eat them every single day!

    • @m8e
      @m8e 9 лет назад

      +dropmatty Why are sweet potatoes better? They contain about 5 times more sugar than regular real potatoes. 10 times the sodium. 1/8 of vitamin C. Less protein, more energy. (Sweet potato contain about ~85 kcal/100g and potatoes ~75kcal/100g.)
      Might have have a lot of vitamin A, but we get enough of that anyway.(an average carrot fills the whole need. So does 1/3 of a sweet potato.) One could argue that eating more than 1/3 of a sweet potato is redundant and unhealthy,
      Sweet potatoes might also have slightly more fiber...

    • @Jemima1377
      @Jemima1377 9 лет назад

      +dropmatty Well, personally I'm rather at a loss how I would 'switch out' two potatoe dishes a week, because I only use regular potatoe about once a month - do people really have so much potatoe in one week that once or twice is equalling to sometimes/every second time or something? I didn't know that!

    • @dropmatty
      @dropmatty 9 лет назад

      +m8e well if you dont have a lot of sugar in your diet already the sugar barely matters. theyre fewer carbs, calories, more fiber, and more vitamins and minerals.

    • @dropmatty
      @dropmatty 9 лет назад

      +Jemima1377 switch out any less nutrient dense food with sweet potato if it can be replaced. youd be surprised, theyre very nutrient and fiber dense. i eat 3-4 a week. one sweet potato can be considered a meal if theyre big enough. they fill you up

    • @Hoiafar
      @Hoiafar 9 лет назад +1

      +dropmatty So I did some research on the difference between sweet potato and normal potatoes and I've come to the conclusion that they aren't really as interchangeable as you think they are. Sweet potatoes are slightly better for vitamins and dietary fibres but has more sugars and less minerals than normal potatoes. I think varying them to every other potato dish is good because it adds more variety to your diet which is always good to do. My data comes from nutritiondata.self.com

    In order to get the fries more potato-like, blanch them in vinegar water for about 4-5 minutes, dry them, and then season them before putting them in the oven. That will intensify the flavour. Trust me, they will taste much better! I do this all the time.

    This looks great! I was wondering about the freezing: do you freeze them raw or cooked? Do you then bake them in their frozen state at the same temp/ for the same amount of time? I'd really appreciate am answer. I'd love to make up 3 batches for the freezer right away! Thanks!
