    I really wanted to make this video to see how close these cars are. The a10 is a kick ass transmission. Had I held my RPM higher on launch and did no lift shift, it might be closer, but that's real world runs for ya.

      Why was he shifting? On a roll you slap the stick over and let the trans do work. They’re considerably quicker that way. Good shifting by you though sir, makes me miss my 6 speed !

      I saw a video where this guy repeatedly smashed a A10 speed 5.0 with a 2018/2019 SS1LE using no lift shift. Now I have nothing but respect for the SS 1LE in auto OR manual BUT I wouldn’t trade the A10 speed for my 2020 SS 1LE manual. In my opinion, the 1LE is in it’s rarest form as a manual. Not hating, just my opinion. Thanks again for the content man.

    I'm now 5 months proud owner of a 2021 SS 1LE manual in Wild Cherry Tintcoat (gorgeous, gorgeous)... and I have no words to describe it.
    I mean the whole package!
    But that manual Tremec is something else. And now I'm practicing rev matching it myself and this is also another fully different experience. The car is so different and raw... then you do Sport mode and double tap that traction control button to go to Competitive Mode => GOLD.
    No other car like this one currently on the market!
    It's so retro in a good way but with all the cool 21st century stuff... GOLD
    And to make it 3rd time -

    2-23-24 I am back in a 2021 2SS after making the mistake of trading my 19 2SS 1LE manual. I opted for the A10 this go round as we dont have many mountain twisties and hills. I enjoy both for different reasons. Both were RedHot. Never been a red fan but man they look good. I would have went for a Crush if one was found. I dont track, so did not 1LE this time. I owned a 2018 2SS 1LE for 2 years and loved it. Did dozens of autocrossess and a couple track days. To be honest I was expecting the auto to pull harder. The 1les 3rd to 4th gear spacing felt slightly long to me. But the auto doesn't pull much. I always thought it was the gearing but I guess its just the drag that really holds the car back at high speeds.

    I own a automatic 2022 camaro LT1 and I love the 1LE, camaro, diffently a rolling classic, but my drag racing roots wouldn't let me order a road racing machine Iike 1LE package, first is the price of 7000.00 which you now have to put on top of the price of a SS camaro, and second is how much weight it adds to the already heavy camaro, if you talk to drag racers where always trying and looking to move and shave weight off of our cars. Which equate to proformance and speed. And the automatic transmission for me is more consistent than a stick car. In a drag racing application. And in drag racing at the track you start from a dead stop, not a roll. And like you said which ever camaro you love go for it stick or automatic 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder.

    I had new 2019 2SS A10 and BEST 0-60 was 4.2 on dusty uphill no access rd, 68° and got my best 1/4 mile time of 12.2 seconds...but I traded for a new 2019 1SS 1LE 6 mos later, same no access dusty uphill rd, 69° I did best 1/4 mile time of 12.3 but my 0-60 was only 4.7 seconds on that best 1/4 run. Temps got hotter, times got slower, but one day, I found a flat, no access asphalt area, temp was 66° and it was only big enough to do a 0-60 run, and I MATCHED my best 2SS A10 time of 4.2!!! So hypothetically, under ideal and identical scenarios, same driver, I can match my M6 to my A10 in 0-60, but using NLS, I can hypothetically get a 11.8 seconds 1/4 mile on stock wheels/tires on mid 60s day on asphalt!!!

    My zl1 a10 vs my boys zl1 1le I put a gap of 2 to 2.5 every time. Remember, the 1le is 65lbs lighter than mine. And I'm 230lbs and he is 170lbs. When we went over 150mph, I pulled further out on him. When I put a tune on my trans, it got worse on him. Tune that auto and it will throw another 2.5 cars ahead. The auto could not do that back in the ls1 days. Lol
    Also, this is my first auto ever and he has never owned an auto. We have been drag racing manual cars for 25yrs.

    • @181le6
      @181le6 2 года назад +1

      @@gloriamaletta8667 That doesn't bother me, because it it hasn't happened. You can find plenty of vids of people who know how to drive a manual, beating auto's. Plus manual trans cars put more power to the ground then their automatic counterparts. For the majority of people, yes auto's will be quicker, but I'm 52 and have driven nothing but manual my whole life, and to me, there's nothing like the feel of ripping gears manually. You are so much more connected and involved with the car and the drive. Shifting is an element of driving a sports car, that i can't do without. I drove a buddy's camaro with the a10 trans and wanted nothing to do with it. I was bored with it in 5 min. If you know how to drive, it is possible to beat an auto or run comparable times, but that's totally besides the point anyway seeing how i didn't buy the 1le package to drag race, or roll race. It seems to me, today more than ever, people's only measure of a car is by how fast it is in a straight line.

    The concept of arguing over manual vs auto is ridiculously immature. I have a 22ss A10 right now. And I had a manual 18 2ss. Sure, driving a manual is fun. But, it could depend on your families car situation, health conditions, availability of cars in your area, terrain (driving a stick in the mountains is not fun), and daily commute. Who cares what the car is. My team at work gives me shit for driving an auto.....its exhausting. Almost all modern sports cars are auto including the GTR and Hurrican. When EVs take over, manuals wont exist.

    • @Hot-1LE
      @Hot-1LE  Год назад

      Idk if its immature. Its a preference. Bashing on someone for one or the other is immature. I dont care what anyone else drives. But for me its manual. Modern sports cars or EV is exactly why I dont own any of those. Its about the experience for me. Found automatics to be extremely boring even in faster cars. But ya if you got health or whatever then understandable. But i can tell ya when i hear that car pulling gears down the road the sound of a manual car IMO is superior to the mid gear shifts from an auto. Just preference who cares what people think. Enjoy your car man you bought what you wanted, not for them. But for you!

    There's a technique to racing an auto vs manual in these cars, and most people don't know how to do it.
    The trick for the auto to maintain shift superiority is to use the paddle shifters to downshift before the roll race starts to get at the start of the power band, once you lay into the gas, move the stick out of Paddle shifter mode, and let the transmission do the rest. Again that's in a roll race, from a Dig the auto will take a manual 9 times out of 10 depending on the driver mod as always.
