- I made a tailor's knife using a broken circular saw blade. It was difficult to obtain large areas of high-carbon steel, so it used a broken circular saw blade "But even a circular saw blade is high-carbon steel."^^ Sandbraster was used for surface treatment and handle wood was used with zebra-shaped hardwood.
I'm glad that there are still people like that who care about precision and beauty, I thought we were disappearing, I have no words to express my admiration, BRAVO, respect from old BG.
What a piece of ART! It looks so beautiful! Sadly you played lots of footage in fast motion which you did not really need it and sometime the camera angle was not in right position and frame shot was bit tight! It would have been a super video to watch it. There is no harm to show the footage in normal speed. If you have shown a part in a normal speed first then you can speed it up so we can see the entire process of that particular process! The end product is just SUBLIME!

One of the best knives making videos iv seen i watch em wished that I could do so good not for fighting but for kitchen needs ha a man could dice a oinen or pepper then cut a piece of pork n beef the way its shaped I don't think your wrist would that you did any work at all good work I like knifes not fighting or survival style but kitchen or fish style my wife is from the Philippines n her likes to cut up fish so let the barbaric style have a different view but people need more videos on kitchen stuff SEE

@@user-rq7uw9qb5u Морковь топором!))) Нет не часто скорее даже редко, но ведь это и не топор! Это нож! Но отчасти Вы правы. Перевёл заголовок видео: "ИЗГОТОВЛЕНИЕ НОЖА / ПОРТНОВСКИЙ НОЖ" . Так что мы оба ошиблись, это не кухонный нож и не топор. Это, если верить яндекс переводчику, портновский нож.
@@PehlevanU По форме таки ближе к топору) хотя и очень своеобразному. Посмотрите - азиаты ножи в нашем понимании не сильно используют в пищеварении, а больше такие полутопорики-полумачетки у них в ходу. Так что тут вопрос о прикладном использовании не стоит, дело привычки.
@@user-rq7uw9qb5u вы сами себе противоречите. Азиаты своими "топорами" режут все. Морковь в том числе. Только вот форма у них совсем другая. Для обывателя поделка из видео практического интереса не представит. Как нож неудобна. Как топор просто неприменима.

Great ! I watched,the other day ,on RUclips how the Thailand butchers cutting up a pigs body.
It is a tough job. And they working fast all day...To me those guys having a similar cutting tools made
out of circulating sow blades. Of course they are not as fancy as your but very functional .Thank you.

Great knives, I've found your channel recently and you make awesome knives. But the vids are a bit long. You should try to shorten them, some parts are a bit too long. For example, several minutes of cutting, grinding or handsanding are very repetitive and can the viewer can loose interest. A few seconds of those parts is enough to understand what you're doing 🙂

I saw the Harding and the quench did I miss the tempering ? Awesome skinner though!

Consider that recycling circular saws is not a good compulsion.

It's nice, really nice don't get me wrong. Just worried about rust a bit as this looks like something you would use for leather and that is often moistened for molding, carving etc.
I'm gonna have to take good care of it. Or maybe it's made of stainless steel like 440C.I didn't have a big size at the time.
@@artisticson2275 Indeed, it's a bit of an issue with some of my leather working tools. You would think the commercially purchased stuff has that covered but nope... Swivel knife is especially tough.

I just subbed. Taking the time to go through the steps is awesome. The long vids help me in the steps. I makes knives to and know how long it takes. Great job. The handle looks beautiful. I’m not a shiny blade guy but the handle is amazing.

Artistic Son sure am. The blasted look is nice. The camera did really well showing the texture of the blast media. Still shiny but if you like it. I like it. Great way to to use something worn out and reuse for another purpose.
A master question, "ceramic" discs can also be used to make knives?
