I was craving waffles this morning and was in search of a good waffle recipe when I found this one on RUclips. I went out and bought the items - I am NO BETTY CROCKER- these waffles came out great on our waffle iron. They were DELICIOUS!! Better than all the box mixes for sure!! And certainly filled the tummies of 2 adults and 2 children.
I used brown sugar instead of white, 2oz of vanilla instead of what Pai had , and added 1tsp of cinnamon. DELICIOUS 😋 The recipe made a total of 4 cups batter and 9 square waffles. Thanks Pai!

The flavor is perfect, it’s just a little more soggy than I would like, probably because my yogurt or buttermilk is not that dense.. any tips on which ingredient I could add a little more to make or crispier? Is it probably a little more cornstarch?

Made this and it turned out fine in my Breville waffle maker using the buttermilk setting (about 6 minutes). I think it was pretty forgiving as a recipe, meaning you could cook it longer if you wanted. I used coconut oil instead of avocado, gluten free flour, and almond milk. Kind of heavy recipe and very fatty, but they were good straight off the waffle maker.

Oh my GOODNESS! I seriously doubted you because I love waffles and used to make a ton of different ones, but I just tasted my first bite, and I do not even understand how this waffle exists!!! The tender fluffiness inside is crazy! The crisp outside is pure perfection, and I really appreciate that rack tip. I am amazed right now. I did a gluten-free version, and never have I had such tenderness inside my waffles, even after such complicated recipes that make you whisk whites and such. This is perfection! Never again will I search. Thank you!! Great, by the way, for one-handed snacking and baby chasing, for sure. The flavor is amazing! One question though, would the flavor not be better with the adjustments made to use melted butter, not oil? What do you think?
Side note, I used all honey instead of sugar, and it did not compromise crispiness, as I feared. These waffles with sliced strawberries, bananas, a giant dollop of yogurt, and a very light drizzle of honey are pure perfection!
I got only six waffles from this recipe, by the way. Doubling this is a MUST, fyi, viewers.

Ahh, so glad to hear!!! I have used butter before and didn't keep doing it. If my memory serves me correctly, I found them to be crisper and lighter with oil, so i decided to just put butter at the end on top instead :)

Just an update--the waffles as leftovers dry out very easily, so it's best to microwave for 15 - 20 seconds before running them through the toaster oven to get some tenderness back. It's probably better if you microwave with a small bowl of water in the microwave to release some extra moisture as it cooks. So very good! If you're planning for leftovers, be sure to account for the fact that you brown them more when reheating, so maybe don't go for full crispness with initial cooking.

I'm so excited when I saw this recipe before and even managed to find it again because I suddenly crave to make my own waffle then I realized I don't have a waffle maker🤦‍♀️ the price isn't that attractive unless if I make it every week😭 well I will bookmark this recipe first😪
Edit: finally I bought a mini waffle maker! Halved the recipe and got around 8pcs. Just the right amount for my family. Love love love it. Fluffy and crispy. Reduced the sugar since my family don't eat sugar much

OMG! I love the tea strainer as a sifter! Genius! How would you alter it to use buttermilk instead of yogurt? Would you use less oil? Thank you for sharing!
