    Hey @EnglishSimmer. I'm glad you and others found it useful to have a look at the details. I just now go to look up whether you made this or not and you've done a fantastic job summarizing the information. I'd say most people are ready to jump in after seeing this, as I'm not aware of any benefits to going too deep into things like Selvadoradian Culture for the arts history degree. It's as you said for the most part - if you want to do some side trip or maybe make use of particular skills for other reasons it may be handy. It seems tuned around getting a D student into the programs, which means anyone who hits level 3 in a few of them is probably going to max out their odds of getting accepted.

    As a Biology student, I find it hilarious that you need gardening skill. Because you ask me how a molecule is formed in a plant or how it travels and gets in and out of cells, how the roots are able to take in water and nutrients. Sure, I know that stuff (or I can easily check my notes). But tending an actual garden?? No idea, never heard of it.

    Carl’s Guide is fantastic. He is the go to source for info on all things Sims. His RUclips channels pretty good to. His videos are more “how to” and info and less “let’s play”. Thanks for showing him some love and giving him the credit.

    I had the parent sims bribe the university with 2 000 simeleons (for real, it reminded me of the tori loughin drama ^^ my sims family is a rich one). For one daughter it worked, and for the other it backfired !

    I have played teens, done the Scouts thing and A grade at School, I usually like to get a wide range of skills across the board, and then do more for the ones I really need, But also had YA Sims skill up and get offered all the distinguished degrees too. I love that we can have an elective skill 😁

    I've been going to Carl's guides for information since Sims 3. I honestly don't think he'd feel like you're plagiarizing him by doing this video based on his guides. I think he'd enjoy seeing his knowledge put to good use, especially since you credit him.

    I got my painting writing charisma and violin skills up to level 7 and maxed my photography skills and I still can't get a distinguished degree in the art history and or fine art like wtf do I need to do

    • @MaryJane-tp3qd
      @MaryJane-tp3qd 3 года назад

      Are you looking in the right college?
      I can usually get them degrees in fine art I believe with a high painting skill in brichester, with a sim that didn’t “grow up”. (Meaning I made them and played a few sim days and applied for scholarships)

    Do you know if carl sims guide has an article for how to get scholarships yet? Also i have a save file with sims i would having relatively low skills, but come from a great family and had great grades in grade and high school and they each got accepted into at least 5 distinguished degrees at each uni each. This was helpful though! Sounds like theres way more to it than the surface implies. Thanks for sharing the guide!

    I have Charisma, Comedy, also the Acting skill at level 10 and it still won’t let me get the Drama distinguished degree at Brichester -.- sooo can you explain that...?

  • @Deception975

    I hate how you can't redo degrees. I completed a distinguished degree without honors, and didn't have a backup save. =/

    So I know how many skill points my Sim needs to get INTO a degree, but how do we know how many Skill points are REQUIRED to keep earning an A? Clearly skill level comes into play somehow in the grading system, because you cannot simply go to class, do some homework, and complete the final/paper/presentation. Your Sim can still fail. Has anyone cracked the grading code yet?

    • @EnglishSimmer
      @EnglishSimmer  4 года назад +1

      On the job list, it'll have the regular jobs and then it splits up the actual careers that are effected by your degree. So don't put them in the normal one, look for the separate track
