The secrets are funny, but I wish they’d mixed in some actual lore for the legendary townies, maybe based secrets off traits, and had the meme ones randomize for other townies and player characters.
I wish that at least the pre-made townies had their own uniqe secrets. I wish that you could set up secrets for your own sims if you wanted to bother with it, and than you can downloud from the galery sims with pre-set secrets to put around the world and make it more lively. As it is now, Its feels so lazy and rushed
Right. But honestly, I'm not surprised after seeing how shallow many of Sims 4 features are from packs, like that Social Bunny thing from High School Years is a prime example.
I understand why the secrets system is so primitive because having them personalized to every sims actions (not just your played sims but unplayed townies) would've been really complicated. However, I wish a LITTLE more thought had been put into them. Maybe they could've been tied to traits? Like either they'd have secrets opposite to their traits (for example a "good" sim enjoying pranking the toilet) or they'd have secrets that would clue you into their traits before learning them through conversation (like finding out a sim might have the klepto trait through the "collecting socks" secret). And only sims that had those traits would get dialogue for those secrets. That way they might feel a little more personalized and consistent without having to account for any more systemic complexity
I wish it was also presonalized based on the relationship they have, for examlpe if they have a spouse they can have a secrest about being secretly disstisfyed with their partner/they are in love with someone else. Or maybe if they have a green bar with someone they can actually despise them secretly. Sims can have secret crushes about other random townies and not just about the grim reapper

They will often kick people out of their homes in order to make more money by gaining a more reliable tenant, rendering people, couples, and families homeless overnight. They have all the right to do that legally. Not only that, but they deny people the ability to purchase a forever home when they buy multiple plots of land for their rentable property, just so they can rake in a profit with minimal effort. Thats why generally we dont like them. But being a landlord doesn't automatically mean ur evil either, of course.
@lu_ane landlords in America have a bit of a reputation for jacking up rent, trying to live off rentals as their only income instead of passive income, not fixing things, fees, etc , it can get pretty bad.

I feel like this could have been done better. They are secrets so having multiple sims with the same dark secrets ruins it. I understand they couldn't assign individual ones to everyone but at least "sort" them so they somewhat match the townie. So far this ep is a letdown that had much more potential.
that pickle secret is hauntingly similar to Allie Brosh's hot sauce story. she has like a mildly impressive tolerance to spice and ate a bunch of hot sauce by accident as a kid and was fine, so her family started using it as a party trick and eventually everyone started thinking she just really loved hot sauce. this information wasn't revealed until she wrote hyperbole and a half, admitting to this like decades long lie she had been keeping because it felt like it had been too long to tell the truth
I would really love a feature with outdoor clothing. Like rain clothes actually protecting from rain and stuff Makes so much sense. The same with winter clothes

what I'd love is a mod where you can replace a sim's secret with one you type in yourself (maybe with a drop down menu to choose the secret icon like with clubs). i would get a lot of mileage out of something like that. 90% of the storylines I play out in the sims are in my head anyway 😂

What would be a good secret is the renter being a blackmailer in Strangerville, who dumped Smeagle in Willow Creek and is a spellcaster who made millions off of Saurck in Batuu.

When you wish for money there's a chance that the well will make you inspired, while the moodlet is active you can blackmail a sim, you can technically do it once, but if you queue the interaction before your sims do it it let you do it more than once
I learned I could steal the tablets from sims houses if I click "put away" while there's nowhere to put it. my sim just puts it in their inventory. I stole the tablet from the bff household.
I really prefer the old pie menu and I'm still upset they haven't given us an option to turn it back... traditional social menu in options just makes the menu more sims 3-like (not having to click more to see friendly, funny etc.)

I was excited about the pack because it seemed like a cool idea to have my sim be a landlord instead of having a normal job. The goal was to be a good landlord and have good ratings. Or honestly wouldn’t mind playing as a bad landlord… seems fun just be goofy and play around with it. Doesn’t matter. It’s extremely disappointing because I can spend a lot of time and effort and still make no money!? Even with good ratings!? Why buy this pack if it only works as renting the apartment. It is a glitch. They're supposed to get paid every Wednesday I believe. It's dumb she doesn't acknowledge it too cuz she knows it's a glitch or that she just wasn't waiting long enough but the only place she admits that is in her almost two hour long video that I guarantee less people watched all of.

The fact that there isn't even a secret about Johnny Zest is a crime, this was the perfect opportunity to include that bit of lore! It actually wouldn't be that hard to have given the secrets more depth since it's just a text box that can easily be programmed to auto generate under certain circumstances. Age, relationship status and traits would be the perfect markers to determine what secrets you discover from a Sim because they would add that depth that the game is always missing while allowing the player, not the game itself to semi customize the secret to the Sim. It would be no different than all of these things unlocking specific social interactions between Sims which already happens- it's just a shift in the text. So a evil and mean Sim would have lots of secrets you can find out while a loyal and good Sim would have few to none, and a nosy Sim could tell other people's secrets while a flirty Sim who is in a relationship might disclose that they have feelings for someone else.

I didn't buy this pack, yet my game is now so buggy it is hard to play right after the fix download for this new pack. I no longer have any waiters or anyone manning concession stands, and certain aspects of Seasons are now bugged. Moonwood Mill is completely empty of anyone including werewolves. So now there's no way aside from creating a werewolf to get bitten..even Greg has disappeared. My vet clinic cannot transfer money anymore and my vet helpers all disappeared. How can a pack i didn't buy mess with my game so much!

The fact that there isn't even a secret about Johnny Zest is a crime, this was the perfect opportunity to include that bit of lore! It actually wouldn't be that hard to have given the secrets more depth since it's just a text box that can easily be programmed to auto generate under certain circumstances. Age, relationship status and traits would be the perfect markers to determine what secrets you discover from a Sim because they would add that depth that the game is always missing while allowing the player, not the game itself to semi customize the secret to the Sim. It would be no different than all of these things unlocking specific social interactions between Sims which already happens- it's just a shift in the text.
So a evil and mean Sim would have lots of secrets you can find out while a loyal and good Sim would have few to none, and a nosy Sim could tell other people's secrets while a flirty Sim who is in a relationship might disclose that they have feelings for someone else.

I didn't buy this pack, yet my game is now so buggy it is hard to play right after the fix download for this new pack. I no longer have any waiters or anyone manning concession stands, and certain aspects of Seasons are now bugged. Moonwood Mill is completely empty of anyone including werewolves. So now there's no way aside from creating a werewolf to get bitten..even Greg has disappeared. My vet clinic cannot transfer money anymore and my vet helpers all disappeared. How can a pack i didn't buy mess with my game so much!
Do you have any mods that might need updating?
