    Wow, I watched about 10 videos about exercises for herinated discs and not a single one mentioned you shouldn’t do them if they cause more pain. I thought it’s normal that they cause more pain for a short time after the exercises. Maybe now I can finally get better

    I have been suffering from Lower back pain for 6 months. My MRI report tells that 1. There is loss of lumbar lordosis. There are partial disc desiccation changes at multiple vertebral levels. 2. L4-L5 Level- There is global disc bulge seen with central disc extrusion; there is mild narrowing of central spinal canal and the bilateral subarticular zone with contact of bilaeral L5 traversing nerve root, there is moderate narrowing of the left foramen with contact of the left L4 exiting nerve root. 3. There is ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at multiple vertebral levels. Disc bulge C6-C7 level. What can be done to be free form this . I would remain thankful for your advice.

    I have discus hernia t7-t8.
    My doctor claims that in his practice he has not yet encountered an injury at that site. Maybe that’s why I can’t find exercises for that area online at all.
    Two years ago I had excessive bending backwards, but after that there was a blockage and a time of weak movement so my muscles weakened.
    Along with my job in kindergarten came DH t7-t8.
    If I pay attention to my movements, the days pass without pain, but if I forget, there is pain in the back and stomach.
    In particular, I am interested in exercises to stretch that part of my spine and my bulging disc to help myself from strong pain.
    Thank you so much, Maja, Croatia.

    I had an operation 2 years ago. My last MR says I still have two herniated discs and I have a serious pain and very low life quality. So what I need to know is that after doing these exercises for some time, can they sove the herniated disc problem totaly? If its so, how long does it take?

    • @kyf_
      @kyf_ 3 года назад +13

      Everybody has a of disc herniation to some extent. Some have more severe cases with worse symptoms, others not so much. So technically you cant really cure a disc herniation, but you can cure the symptoms dicreasing the pressure on the nerves. These exercises help you to do that. How long it will take depends on many factors, the severity, your dedication to the excercises and in general the treatment program and many others, It's not the same for everybody. I suggest you to try to find a physio that can help you with that, it's not only these exercises, there's a lot more that can be done.

    Thanks for this video, wish I’d seen this much sooner so I could practice the squeeze exercise. I’ve been doing the cobra exercises and another that decompresses the spine apparently and they’ve started to help.
    Is there any info and advice on lumbar support products for bulging discs? I think I need to a couple things that can give me support for sitting down for long periods of time, and also maybe a brace of sort to help with more labour based activity.
    When I search online, I just get bombarded by Amazon on loads of different products that I don’t know if they’re right or not.

    Could you also demonstrate how to get up from the ground as painlessly after the first two exercise routines. I was looking for that tip at 7:40 but the video cuts to the next exercise.
    If one is not inclined to do these on the ground, can they use a flat bed?

    • @sarahitangelita
      @sarahitangelita 2 года назад +2

      I usually do it next to my bed so I can get up with the assistance of the bed. The key is to not bed your back. Keep it straight as your getting up. Get on your hands and knees first then use the support of something that’s not gonna give in if you put all your weight on it

    I have a severely herniated disc at L1-L2 on the left side. I’ve recently experienced worsening symptoms with numbness of anterior and lateral side of left leg and burning pain. The pain seems to be controlled with NSAIDS, but I am having stomach issues with these meds. The numbness hasn’t resolved for 6 weeks.
    Are there any exercises that can be beneficial for L1-L2. From what I read, this is a rare area for disc herniation. I don’t want surgery, but I am afraid that if I don’t have this fixed, the damage will become permanent.

    Hello Dr. I have been going to physical therapy now for almost 2 months for what they thought was costochondritis although the pain originated in my cervical spine and it took me a very long time to get an MRI from my doctor. Cut to this week the MRI shows bulged disc‘s in my cervical spine C6 and C7. I am now curious as to whether or not my physical therapy routines will change and geared more towards helping my cervical spine. My question to you is what type of exercises should I be expecting from physical therapy? As of now they are only focusing on my middle back and if that’s all they continue to do I wonder if I should change to another physical therapy team all together.

    I sit on my home office chair most of the day. Would sitting on an exercise ball be better? thanks

      Michael have you thought of doing a standing desk. My back is horrible and sitting, my worst enemy. Standing desk has really helped.
