The sentence in story 3 is crazy - the woman who stabbed someone she didnt know 22 times and this being unprovoked only got 15 years, even after writing in her journal that she is a homicidal psychopath and never felt a high like it. Meaning it's likely that one day she will be released back in to society. The only factor that stopped this from murder is that the woman knew how to save her own life due to her medical training. It blows my mind. Any other person would have died and the sentence should have reflected that. Can someone with these tendencies ever be rehabilitated?
In the uk most murders get 10 years or so

At the cost of someone else getting attacked and her killing a mother, father, child, sister, brother? Remember this woman in an unprovoked attack stabbed an unknown person 22 times and said she felt no high like it.
Taking a life was her 1 and only intent. It's not like they got into a fight in a bar or in a fit of rage and hurt she retaliated and took it too far. She premeditated her actions of taking a life.
I just don't think there is any rehabilitation for someone who has them tendencies.

Moments before the shooting, Eric ran into Brooks in Columbine’s parking lot and told him to get out and go home. As Brooks walked away, he heard Eric and Dylan begin shooting. Chilling
Idk Eric saved that one guy’s life, so he’s not all bad. Glad to know there was some good in him :)

@@Lawrence_Talbot That shows that Society failed Eric. Eric had a friend, and he understood that. He wasn't out to kill, he wasn't even entirely unhinged.. He was angry at society, and everyone who failed him, who didn't want to be his friend. All Eric wanted was to be accepted, and treated as an equal. He wasn't. The fact he didn't shoot his friends shows it.
I can't even blame him.
As a person who's currently living the life of Eric. I feel for them. I can't even blame them for the murders they did. Society is cruel, people are cruel. While I'm not about to go do mass murders.. I was beaten to death as a 2 month old baby. Skull, most of my bones, etc. were broken for weeks before I ended up dieing. I died on the way to the hospital, barely brought back to life and put on life support.
That scarred me as a child. I threw tantrums, threw myself down stairs, and had trouble connecting with people. Had some friends while in the teens and I was a quiet, to myself kid. I loved writing, art, poetry, etc.
Now come my 20's.. I can't make friends, don't see the world the same way as people. I don't agree with half of the dumb shit out there other people do. I'm cynical, but I don't like to bring this out to people. To people I am a good person. I go way out of my way to be nice. Not even to be accepted, just to be nice. Understanding. I'm always there for people, wanting to be their friend. I try not to cross lines, and respect peoples spaces, but it's always the same..
I get nothing in return. I never get people asking me to do things. While people may say they are there for me, they never are when I really need it, despite me being there for them. I'm an outcast no matter how hard I try to be the best friend one can be, which I am, and best person I can be.. I know I am a good person. Yet... I don't know what it is.. Nobody will give me the time of day.
It eats at you. 100's of people can't be wrong right? There must be something wrong with you... Well... yes.. yes they can be all wrong. I wouldn't hurt a fly, hence why I wouldn't ever go on a killing spree, but that doesn't mean I don't understand the confusion, pain, frustration, and empty feeling Eric and others like him feel.
You get to a point where decades of the same repeating pattern no matter what you do to try to change it happens. You're an outcast. Society has abandoned you, people don't want you.. What are you supposed to do? Why don't you deserve happiness and friends? Why is it even the people at the start seem to be friends, then the friendship takes a downward spiral and they just drift away or want nothing to do with you anymore? What is it about you?
Well nobody has answered that question for me, I have no answers. Yet the situation persists. Some people choose suicide, most do.. Some people decided to go mass murder.. I can't blame any of them.
Society and people have failed them. Just like everyone failed me.

I was abused by my parents and brothers, I was the only girl and I was not welcome into the family as a result. I was a punching bag, a slave, and an ATM. I was bullied at school as well as at church. I had no place of refuge. Never in a million years would I ever think of turning to violence. I never turned to drugs or alcohol and I never thought of taking my own life. Yeah, I suffered from PTSD and severe depression, but I turned out okay and could honestly say that I am a nice person.

The last story, the photos of the diary reminded so much of children's writing, from the handwriting to the spacing. It's terrifying to think that someone can mix adult beliefs like the matrimony, and talk about it like a child's Fanfiction.

The dude is indeed crazy but how is wanting to get married and have a stay at home wife terrifying? The terrifying thing is that he was obsessed with that particular woman even though they barely knew one another, it's scary to think that you could just pass by someone and a person that you didn't even notice could somehow mentally latch onto you and form an elaborate fantasy of a blooming relationship between the two of you despite never actually interacting with one another.
The guy in the last story was actually pretty tame from what we hear in the video, he didn't seem to want to do anything other than have that woman as a wife which is far less psychotic than if he was a "Buffalo Bill" level of evil.

I have one problem with the “social isolation” angle: journals are subjective, and the brains of these people are skewed. I knew a girl who would hurt people and claim that she was being bullied because she had no friends. She would have to be the one in charge at all times and would turn violent and nasty on a dime and often for no reason at all. Several people tried to reach out to her and bring her into their friend group, even feeling extreme guilt over not wanting to be around her. They were convinced that she was going to turn into another school shooter and it would be their fault because they didn’t try harder to be friends with her. And yet she would claim to anyone listening that people just didn’t like how she looked, that people were just mean to her and didn’t want her around for no reason.

As someone who has been slightly stalked, I can’t even imagine the pure horror of this woman. My story isn’t as intense as hers, but man was I scared as hell to even pass the halls of our school.
There’s something truly wrong with these people that obsess. It is scary. I know what it’s like to be stalked, and it creates this lack of security that lasts for years. I wish people would take it more seriously, because stalking is a sign that someone is potentially dangerous.

I never understood how Dylan said he didn’t fit in. From what I gather, he had a decent amount of friends at Columbine and was more accepted than Eric. He even went to prom a few days before the massacre. (which is super eerie)

But with the guy in the video I feel like that was his actual first relationship with a girl and without reference and possibly a bit crazy he uh yeah he did that.

I agree with you, a majority of school shooters/murderers are not some poor rejected kids that just wanted friends, there is a reason they didn’t have friends. They were violent, weird (not quirky weird, the “I want to wear your skin” weird) and uncomfortable to be around. Most of them rejected themselves because they look down on society. Do they need help? Yes (anyone who makes a plan to murder someone or to harm them needs help doesn’t matter what the circumstance or situation, if that person has been pushed to that point or they are naturally like that means something is wrong) but does that mean I have to be friends with them? No one deserves friends.

A friend’s daughter who attended Columbine at the time of the shooting said that she couldn’t believe Dylan was one of the school shooters. She shared a class with him, talked to him in class, said he did have friends and he would make people laugh.
I read similarly, and also that the media tried to say they only killed people who bullied them....when clearly they did not. One of the girls who survived being shot testified that one of them asked her "Do you believe in God?" before he shot her. She knew him to speak to, but had never really interacted with him & certainly NEVER made fun of him. Those 2 teens were just evil. Their parents are also responsible for actually seeing guns sitting around their sons' rooms, yet allegedly never did anything about it.

The news portrayed the columbine shooters to be bullied. They were actually quite popular. We read the book and did an interview project in highschool. The journals are also in the book. One of Eric’s journals talks about him wanting to “kill all man kind” and how they were gonna take the attacks to outside the school

I was bullied in elementary, middle and high school. Being treated that way for no reason is sad, but murdering someone or multiple people because they treat you wrong or you think they don’t like you, is unacceptable. And then writing it all down, talking about how fun and exciting it is, is just sickening. This is so sad. 😔

Dylan and Eric always confuse me. Typically when we hear about school shooters, it’s a single kid with pent up anger or depression. It’s hard for me to understand how these two just sat down one day and decided to start talking about shooting up their school. How did whoever brought it up know that the other wouldn’t come clean and tell someone? Just strange. It’s like they had some weird telepathic connection.
I read a book about them in high school and Eric very much pushed Dylan into it. Eric was the ringleader and Dylan was too weak of a person to back out and tell someone else what was going on

Nothing beats the chronicles of 'Our love forever' dude wrote 250+ journal entries about a woman at work to which he gave her these journal entries expecting her to read them and fall for him.
The whole story is quite scary, the now defunct Sorrowtv has a video about it if you want an idea but I think Mr Nightmare could do the story justice the way he narrates
In the story 3 I'm kind of proud of the mom who contacted after realising that the sketch looked like her daughter. Instead of hiding her daughter, She chose justice and did what was right insted of hiding away her child.

Wow, I went to school with pearl.
I hardly knew her but she used to wear a cat tail everyday to school and dated one of my friends.
A year after graduation we ran into each other at six flags and rode the swing ride together.

i just wanna rant about something here. As someone who has been socially rejected and been lonely for about a year and a few months, I understand Eric’s diary entry. I have tried reaching out for friends but nobody has sent back anything. But I don’t wanna resort to crime. I would say I’m a hard working student so I can atleast do something and still talk to teachers. But please, for anyone reading out there, if you see a lonely person, who has been lonely for a while, and has tried to reach contact, PLEASE at least start a conversation with them. It literally is the highlight of my day when someone starts speaking to me unexpectedly. I have wished for many breaks for someone just to approach and strike a conversation. I don’t know.. just pls if you can, talk to them, they could really need it.
