I associate this melody with something magical, like when you're heartbroken, and you think there is absolutely no way out of your situation, but then a small flash of hope appears, and for a few minutes everything is okay. Then, - with that little tingling sensation of fear of the new - you grab that little sparkle, and you suddenly realize, that everything is the way it supposed to be. You finally find yourself, and it's bright, and epic, and the everlasting peace just... You know...

james horner was such a genius wasn't he? his use of contrasts by cycling back and forth between major and minor keys but the tension between the two is so harmonically balanced. the major key notes played by woodwinds and strings with notes of a harp evoking a past memory or feeling of joy then the piano crescendo suddenly going into minor key leaving out the woodwinds dropping you into a haunting feeling of longing. he used these same motifs in a lot of other movies he scored underpinning the same central theme of longing, i.e balto, land before time, and titanic.

Yes. Horner was not perfect -- I called him "The King of Schmaltz," mostly as a compliment, although I hated the Avatar score -- but man, when he jerked tears, they flowed. He had a lot more great scores in him (just look at ol' Jerry Goldsmith!), and he was taken from us far, far too soon.

Im so glad that I found this movie, hocus pocus, E.T. and other 90's movies at such a young age😌..its a masterpiece, I wish I was born in your generation uncles and aunts, since I was born in 2005😪, atleast at that time, I could tell that life before was peaceful and so beautiful, unlike this generation (aka my generation) is a bit disappointing😪..

We talked about good things and never mentioned bad things. Enjoy this time, after all you can enjoy the best of the 80s and 90s without giving up the best of the 2010s ^^

3:14 to 4:20 is my favorite part of the score! I once had an idea for a movie that was like a Epic Fantasy-Adventure Thriller that with a score like this playing in the background towards the end of the film. It would be a movie that provides a powerful human message and has a beautiful love story in the center of it!

What went wrong with going to the movies and watching tv?
What ever happened with the simple lives of our childhood?
That's the question I ask everyday when I watch episodes from yesteryear and asked myself "What went wrong?"
If only we would make a time machine to showcase today's kids what happened back in a simple life, when there were no smartphones and iPhones and Android and such to ruin our life's and try to take over the world, and show them what happened when we had sony walkmans, Windows 2000, and the GOOD 90's Saturday morning cartoons, and not today's sorry excuse for what they call family entertainment.
If only, we had something to show these kids what is right and what is wrong, so we can show then why people don't make movies and cartoons like they used to.
Until the wind blows when we meet again. Peace!
From the GOOD ole U.S. of A!

But it's not the children of today's fault. If anything, it's ours. The older generation. We gave them these things. We ruined them. Think: If we had set a good example such as not giving a child a smartphone in the first place then maybe, just maybe, things would've been different. But remember, every generation is different. For example, our parents probably hated that we watched T.V. like A LOT. Remember the good 'ole "Cartoons are bad for you!" haha!

Edward Scissorhands was for November, waiting for winter and Christmas time... I'd always watch this movie when I was a kid and I absolutely loved this song. We didn't have Internet and even if we did, it would be nearly impossible to find this song at that time. So I'd jump (or return) to that scene so I could hear this song. It was pretty hard, because I'd cry everytime I watched that scene, so I had to cry to listen to a song, haha. Good and innocent times.
