I cry at that scene and I barely cry at anything. That moment when she's looking through the Christmas decorations and she suddenly stops to look outside, you know that's when the music is starting and it gives me chills.
When I was a teenager I saw Edward for a first time and one of my friends gave me a CD with this movie soundtrack. Back in the days, when we had great winters in Poland, I used to play this on my CD-player and my headphones whenever it was snowing. I was just sitting at night, watching it snow by the window and just listen to this on repeat. Great memories. Sometimes I force myself to feel those kind of feelings, but sadly, it's not the same anymore - less and less snow each winter, but this soundtrack is still one of my favourite.
@William Cartledge That's what Christ said will happen, which is one of the many reasons he's such a polarizing figure. Man has his own sense of right and wrong, but Christ's is superior. There is no earning salvation for any man, no one is perfect therefore no one is good enough, which is why salvation has to be a gift from God. That takes humility to acknowledge and accept.
I wanted a happier ending to such a sad story, so here it is: Years swept by as fast as the snow that came each year, yet the memory of Edward remained strong within her mind. She often thought about him, the old dreary mansion, the garden of shrubs and roses he cut with so much care. The mounds of makeup and the scratches on his face, dreamy and wide-eyed. Never before had beauty been so real in a face so torn. Perhaps that's what made him all the more special. She never moved, never thought much of anyone else. Her life didn't pause with Edward, she still married, had children, created her own adventures in life. He floated always in the back of her mind though, speaking only when she needed it most. When she fell to sleep, she could still hear the swinging of his gentle blades, forever cutting, styling, snowing. Snow that fell like feathers, snow you could sing and dance in, lightly falling, falling earth-bound to scatter infinitely on the ground. Her body was frail now, the spryness of her youth forgotten amidst the aches and pains she felt in her every movement. Her bones creaked with even the slightest wind, protesting against action. Had Edward aged at all? Did he remain the innocent child he seemed to be those many years ago? These questions were beyond her, yet how dearly she wished for an answer, to know that every snowfall was still a special sign, that she had not been forgotten by him. For her every waking moment, she couldn't bear the thought of carrying such a burden, such love, for it only to be a wisp in the mind of what had once been. Something was wrong tonight. The snow no longer fell, and the air felt heavy, as if it was alive. Hesitant, tense, she felt it as it blew across the small town, weaving in between the houses of people with heads full of small, insignificant things. She settled in for the night, wrapping herself in her usual quilt and closed her eyes to rest. Early morning, she awoke. The snow had still not come, but rather was replaced by a small clicking sound coming from the front door. She laid there, paralyzed, afraid to move, to even glance towards the sound. The door gave a final click, and began to creak open. Scraping sounds were heard as it closed, and light footfalls were heard directly after. They walked this way and that throughout the empty house, seemingly searching for something. As they got nearer, they slowed, becoming all the more hesitant. They stopped right outside her bedroom door. Her breath came in small gasps, air not rushing quickly enough into her stiff lungs. The door gave a small click as it began to open, and as the stranger began to step in, she sprang forwards and flipped the lamp switch, illuminating the room. The intruder stopped, stunned by the sudden light. She fumbled with her glasses on her bedside table, and put them on clumsily. Her mouth dropped open. Edward stood there, stunned, looking at her with those same eyes, that same black suit, not having aged a minute. They both stared, his eyes wide and inquisitive, hers slightly wet as they began to remember. Finally, her breath came back to her. It was deep; shuddering. "Edward?" she said in a hushed whisper of awe. His fingers moved slightly in the stillness, small metallic creaks coming from each individual blade. "Hello," he replied, timidly. She couldn't stop it. The tears came all too soon, too suddenly. She was forced into spasms, rocked by sobs of disbelief, of pain, of joy. He rushed forward, and with a delicate awkwardness, brought her into a hug. While snow did not come that year, it instead was replaced by something much more, and only for Kim. She sat there hugging him, refusing to let go. As she delved deeper into his body, there came a small, but unmistakable hitch from Edward. The next morning, the town awoke, mystified. Their garden's were hedged neatly, with such precision and accuracy. Yet, for Kim, her garden was resplendent, decorated in a manner not even seen by the most wealthy. The day continued as normal, everyone going to work, gossiping, children playing their games throughout the day. The strange occurrence was just that, strange. They never knew who had trimmed such beautiful detail into their shrubs, nor did they ever find out. Perhaps it was for the best, for who could ever sit still and listen to an old woman's fairy tale of the boy who brought the Christmas snow?
My wife absolutely loved this musical. I hope it plays when I get to see her again in Heaven. I play this and it makes me cry thinking of her. She was my soulmate my everything in this world. I miss you Jess.
Because some of us feel more than others. There are a lot of people who feel like we do, but also some who do not. It is a very emotional melody, the super high and the lows and the sway of the voices singing together all whirling around one another like angels is just mesmerizing

This beautiful piece reminds me of my cat who passed away in September of 2017. He gave me 16 beautiful years of unconditional love. I’d listen to it nonstop for the first few weeks after he passed.

This music is so damn beautiful. So hard not to tear up
I was looking for this for many years. I think this is a time machine travelling to my childhood, stucked in time,
I think this is the most emotional soundtrack song I’ve ever heard. Being different and relatable to the main character of the movie definitely makes this piece an emotional one for me.
Danny Elfman is amazing
So enchanting. words are not enough to describe such masterpiece 😢😢😢😢
Im a Born Again christian and love The Lord so much. I close my eyes and imagine meeting Him. God is real and loves you ALL !!!

Every single day i listen to this version of this wonderful composition. Thankyou for bringing it to life. I only wish o could have seen your wonderful orchestra play these scores/soundtracks when i was in Holland on business before covid.
2:11 my soul left the body
Tears, it’s an amazing thing to see a much cherished childhood movie be honored so beautifully. What a gorgeous tribute, so many people coming together to create something this stunning. Truly honoring Elfman’s original work.
This song brings emotions like I can't explain it
It brings me chills I love this movie
You'll forget a feelgood film but a fairytale with a sad ending you'll remember for your entire life.
Elfman is a beast , an absolute animal .
The guy with the cymbols had been waiting all night to do that.
