Straight to the point? He spent half of the video doing what we can all do, ripping things out. Putting things is is the object of the excessive here is it not?
A couple of hours ago I was waiting for a contractor to come and give me a quote. Just a basic cabinet replacement. He never showed up (I know they are too busy right now, but not even a phone call?). I then called a friend that is also very handy, and between this video and my friend, we can do it (we have the tools and the weekends). Next: measure the cabinets so I can order them, remove, install. Thanks for a great video!!
You got this MR. This cabinet replacement took a half day by myself. You definitely can do it and enjoy that a couple extra thousand bucks that you save!

hey manuel!... i usually charge equal to the cost of the cabinets before your material mark up...seems to work out fair for us and them...you got this!

Every other video: "we're going to measure twice, then draw a line, then check that line with a level, then we can screw the cleat in. Now let's check that cleat for level, then we can set the cabinet on top of that, check level, one screw, check level again..."
This guy: muscles cabinet up to ceiling with one hand, screws with the other, it's perfect. Checks with level just to gloat. No pencil required

@@homemend Awe, thank you!!! I love the subtitles because I have music or a movie going on in the background while I am shopping for building material, or quickly look up how-to videos with mute on. The subtitles are great!!! But, I actually stopped my movie and watched yours with the sound on half way through. Thank you for the response and thanks again for doing the videos, they are very helpful! I sign on my first house on Tuesday 11/20 and I have a few projects picked out - one of them is bringing down all the cabinets. Keep on kicking butt! (and making these videos lol)!

This is one of the best basic cabinet install videos I have seen. No BS and good communication. The only downside is that it doesn't cover issues most people will probably have with uneven walls or floors. The solution for those issues are pretty simple. Shims. Find the best spot and put your first cabinet, then shim the rest to match. A little bit of construction adhesive will make sure the shims don't get moved later on, but this would be pretty unlikely after everything is screwed down..

Home Mender I have a question. If I need to use shims to even the ones on the bottom, do I break the shims and leave them there? Or what do I do?
hey MH! yes leave them there and break them...leave the part behind the cabinet but break off what you can see..you got this!
