- 160-pound Olentangy Berlin junior Caiden Hooks will get his biggest wrestling test yet when he faces the country's top wrestler, Paddy Gallagher, Saturday in his first match at the Ohio State Wrestling Tournament.
Challenges are nothing new for the 17-year-old Hooks, who was diagnosed with eye cancer, bilateral retinoblastoma, at 19 months old and had both eyes removed before the age of four. Clay Hall has the story: abc6onyourside...

That guy is bloody disciplined.
I'd like to see how far he goes in 20 years.
The grind is real but so are the rewards.
Get him on the “four bad eyes” podcast with Anthony Ferraro, also a blind wrestler it would be nice to hear more of this kids story. He’s an absolute beast
And also one of the sweetest people on the entire planet those 3 just talking to each other nicely the entire time.
not say i’m bouta watch this rn yo
So proud of you brother. You inspire each and every one of us everyday. You show people that nothing can hold us back as long as we have the drive.
Caiden!! You are more than an inspiration, You are the epitome of not giving up, come what may. God bless you!!! Amen 🙏🙏🙏
He can’t see this

We got to meet this amazing young man this weekend. My son was in awe of his skill.
What a beautiful soul ♥️
Love that they have a "dine in the dark" night. Just another day for Caiden, but gives the others a small 'taste', if you will, of what he deals with every day. He will go big places.
I also love the way his teammates accept him to the point that they forget he's blind and say 'Kaden did you see that?' That's awesome!
I’ve seen this guy wrestle, absolute stud
Wow that young man is amazing.
You go ahead!!!!!
Salute to you young man.
God bless him! 😊
This dude got screwed by life and still came out on top
All respect to this fighter, I wrestle myself, so just seeing this is so heartwarming, hope that in the future, humans create eye-recovering
"he has an advantage"? What? No, he's just good. It's comforting to see a kid like this today who overcomes. Life dealt him a 2 of clubs, but he's playing it like an Ace of spades.
This dude is a madlad
Amazing young man, God bless him
He could very easily say wo is me and just give up. I wish I had half of the courage that you do young man
Stay strong 💪 kid 🤘🏾❤️
Would be cool to see him on “Four Bad Eyes” 💯 One Love!
He’s amazing an inspiration
This is inspiring. I am inspired!
Inspirational. Good for him.
Way to go keep up the good work

WoW so cool. Would like to meet you Caiden. You are amaZing.
He might be blind, but his opponents never saw him coming. GO CAIDEN!
It’s funny how society calls such a talented person like this “disabled”. 😂
Good for him !!!
I love this so much
Amen
Damn Copper Hammer is an awesome name!
I love wrestling I am a wrestler and I love this
I'm in love omfg
😇Peace & Joy to you
Can he ankle pick? If he can is it like muscle memory or something?
Goat
I seen him in my wrestling tournament
I want to see this guy take on Anthony Ferraro
good video
Comedian too ehh?
We'll see how far it goes....Rotfl!!
#JailBait 😅
Great story but the rules shouldn't change for anyone.
the rules change all the time, for all sorts of reasons. Its not like they are fighting to the death.... its a sport, adaption is a part of it for everyone.
Bro are you stupid 😭😭 how is he supposed to break contact if he can’t see
I understand the sentiment fellas. Starting contacted changes up the whole dynamic of wrestling. There are unfair advantages naturally in sports. That's how nature is. I just don't believe you should make special rules. That is a slippery slope that once started will change the sport entirely.
Hey man he can break contact a feeling his opponent feeling what he is doingsay if your hand fighting or something like that you can be able to feel itas long as that awesome and talented kid example safe I'm watching I have to have a coach sit there and tell me what's goingI wrestle not visually impaired so I know what he's going through
True I don't think we'll should change either but then again wrestling can be a super emotional supportonce you go out on that mat it is all you nobody else it's not like basketball Tori you can go ahead and say all they didn't pass me the ball because as soon as you hit that man it's only you rules are not the point in this situation point of this is that there is a very good and talented kid there he was able to do this and he has beaten cancer has autism in blind I know what he's going through because I am also blind it is hard for me I feel with my opponents doing because it just depends on how you push yourself
only in ohio
Wow..
