    Coach your videos are tremendous the way you break things down and show step by step are top notch. Keep up the great work my 11yr old watches at least one of your videos everyday on his own. It's really made a difference in his game which has made him a more confident person. Thank you and God bless

    Hey coach Frikki big fan Ive been showin your vids to my hoopin friends. You got such great content and format. Could you by chance make a Tier list for 'best moves for finishing around the rim? Like i.e. the Rondo/slide by finish. You already covered these separately, but was wondering if there were any more combo packages for guards to utilize around the basket. The Rondo move is so killer for me and I feel if there were any more 'combos' I would be way too unpredictable to guard when I got to the lane. All love, and you're awesome

    • @willhenke2225
      @willhenke2225 2 года назад +2

      This video is helpful in that too. In my mind I was just thinking of the S tier move list you did, but for finishing around the basket

    • @CoachFrikki
      @CoachFrikki  2 года назад +18

      @@willhenke2225 Yeah I'm gonna do something like that soon. The only problem is that I feel like no finish is better than any other. They all have their place and are really effective when used in the right situation. It's gonna feel weird to put any finish in a low tier.

    Pretty good breakdown, but the ball fake (and head fake) are really important too;
    make sure you ball fake a layup, not just upwards, but sideways; either toward a slow rim protector to freeze them in their place or away from a hyperactive rim protector to make them overcommit and fly by you;
    either one will open up the tiny crevice you need to slide by them and put up a layup with english.

    Hey coach, would you recommend practicing the same side three step gather (listed as NBA only here) with a delayed pick up so it would be legal at other levels? Or do you think that it's an impractical move in some way? I feel like you could possibly get into it with an outside-foot skip which would give a second to make the read before gathering the ball. Thanks for the great content!

    • @CoachFrikki
      @CoachFrikki  2 года назад +5

      Might do a video on that.
      It's not about strength though. I know 7 year old kids who can make threes w/ good form even though you're way stronger than them. It's about practice & co-ordination. Syncing every muscle in your body to create that force. Flicking your wrist quickly.
      Just keep shooting a lot of threes until your body finds a way to make it work. Mix it with short form shots too though so your form doesn't break down.
      If you send me a video of your form I could take a look.
