Keep holding your son like that, even when he is a toddler. Keep hugging him and kissing the top of his head when he is a child. Keep loving him and hugging him when he's 12-20 and acts like he doesn't need it. Never stop letting him know he is loved...that it's okay to feel his feelings...and that no matter what his feelings are, they will change (for better or worse). Keep loving him so that he knows he has worth, and is worthy (but not superior to anyone), and show empathy to him so he can have empathy for others.
I'm a first time mom and can't tell you how many times I've been told not to carry my baby too much. My baby is used to sleeping in her bassinet but i carry her and cuddle with her every chance I get, i kiss her so much thst she now has learned to lean in her head and stays still. I said there's a lot of things I'm still learning but they'll be a day I'll never carry my baby again and I'll regret not carrying her when i had the chance.

Lol not sure if you are aware but newborns sleep a lot. As a mother of 3 soon to be 4….In between breastfeeding, cuddling, sleeping and eating I was in bed next to my baby crocheting and watching movies while recovering from a c section. My husband takes care of our other kids for the first bit so I can bond with baby and relax. When I could do things more I was cooking and hanging out with our other kids while baby was held by dad or slept in his bassinet. What’s wrong with some down time while baby is sleeping? Or should we be sitting there staring at them the entire time lol

A LOT of people use their game consoles to watch regular TV, local channels, Netflix or whatever ect.. he could have been just turning the TV on/off or volume who knows but it's not uncommon for a game controller to be your remote if it makes u feel any better

I assume this is everywhere when your child is born they do skin to skin for the first hour with the mother. Well when my son was born they started skin to skin immediately and I was the guy ripping of my shirt saying I will do skin to skin so I could hold my baby boy as soon as possible. First lesson is NEVER comment on what others do. They are not YOU. Babies sleep A LOT. Is he supposed to be just standing there doing nothing while the baby sleeps? NO, he is doing something he enjoys while having his son in his arms. The little one is surrounded by his father's warmth, he is OK.
Favorite part of being a mom is when they're sleeping on your chest. Cherish these moments because they fly by like you would not believe. Tomorrow he'll be a teenager.
