- Coming of Age Adventure based on Ann Brashares' best-selling novel about a special 16th summer in the lives of four lifelong friends who are separated for the first time. On a shopping trip, the girls find a pair of thrift-shop jeans that fits each of them perfectly and they decide to use these "magic" pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead, each girl wearing the jeans for a week to see what luck they bring her before sending them on to the next. Though miles apart, the four friends still experience life, love and loss together in a summer they'll never forget.
This movie is a gem. A coming of age movie that deserves to be watched as years pass by.

I watched this in primary school, watched again in high school, I’m now 28 now and I’ve watched it here and there throughout the years and appreciate it more even more. This movie has always stuck with me!!! Cheesy trailer but the movie is anything but cheesy, it’s realistic, heartfelt, and a lot of girls can relate here and there to everything each of the girls experienced, the messages this movie had were so beautiful. This movie will always be close to my heart, I’d recommend it forever. They don’t make movies like this anymore.

The trailer makes it look so cheesy but bruh... Such a good movie with some great messages.
The movie turns 15 today.! I was afraid I was gonna hate it but it ended up being a very charming story about how a pair of pants can bring 4 friends together no matter what changes happen. The Greek landscapes are gorgeous. Definitely hits you hard emotionally towards the end. Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Amber Tamblyn are all perfectly cast too.

It didn't bring them together as they were already together. It kept them together even though they were physically distanced for the summer.
Watched this in middle school and I don't recall that I liked it so much. I guess I was too young. I rewatched it yesterday as an adult and absolutely loved it. They don't make good movies like this anymore...

I like how Alexis Bledel has the same personality/character as Rory in Gilmore Girls. It almost makes me feel like I am watching Gilmore Girls.

when bridget is saying that the pants are magical and one of the cabin mates says its cool, my reaction would be OMG YOU NEED TO GO TO A HOSPITAL LOL you think jeans are magical you are crazy XD same goes for tibby too and another thing why does bridget think that eric wants her to be with him when he obviously said "What are you doing here?" in the bar he never asked her to date him! i think bridget should be charged with stalking

Some important points of this movie were unclear like what happened to Bridget and the coach to make her get so upset (that was unclear) and also nothing was said about Bailey as in what had happened to her. Other than those points great movie

Nita Bailey bridget fell in love with her coach but he rejected him, bailey suffered leukimia and died. You should read the novel tho

Hi guys, My names Domar and i've been watching this movie over and over.... I have a theory. Have you ever wondered why the pants dont seem to be helping at all? They aren't magical... As soon as the little girl put them on and she got leukemia. The pants are all evil but thats not the only thing.... Bones. BONES. bones have a big roll in this movie, the scene where the girl falls into the water and she almost drowns, yea, the guy with strong bones saved her. You know how there's a fued between the two families... its because one familiy has bigger bones then the other. The blonde girl went to that soccer camp and met a guy with big bones.... but he rejected her cause she had weak bones. thats why in the second movie she is an archeologist... she's trying to get big bones!
no she's always had leukemia these "magic" pants are made up by girls who need to be institutionalized XD
