We lost an absolute singing god when it comes too Pavarotti. He was truly gifted and one of a kind. The likes of which we probably will NEVER see again. RIP Luciano.

You are absolutely right. And a great man as well - he had such a good heart. Missing him so much (no, I didn't know him - just a huge fan). Rest in peace, Maestro.

      I did - and well.
Saw Alagna in Pesaro when he auditioned for Luciano . As did Bocelli.
What a warm kind and generous hearted person Luciano was - will miss him forever.

Luciano Pavarotti is The One. No tenor can ever match him. Despite his fame, he remained humble.

Not only the greatest tenor of the 20th Century but a generous, intelligent teacher who loved to pass his knowledge on. RIP Maestro Ultimo.

we’ve never heard Caruso. We really don’t know if he was that great

@@samueljaramillo4221 1. there are people alive who heard him. 2. we have recordings and with modern technology they prove the point. 3. The song Caruso is a big hit 70 years after his death. Who else are the greats singing about?

There were others who won as well that year.
Pavarotti tried to be generous to all of the winners. In fact that was part of what made him great…his generosity.

@mvcpastkambcstccr8563 That's kind of what I thought. Her voice deteriorated rather quickly. I think she took on dramatic Verdi soprano roles and Strauss and just over did it. It's a pity it was a very exciting voice

    First singer,Roberto Alagna

  • @sylvain_10beringer29

1:46 it is clearly why i hate Roberto ALAGNA every time he face a high passagio he simply let the head voice alone and completly abandon the chest voice and by the way the notes seem clearly falsetto. As Lauri Volpi said this way is not real sing . It can be use by tenors for particular songs but not at a high note like this it must be chest voice use the diapragm
He is still doing like this in those days this guy always think he is a great tenor but actually he is not great he is just one among a big quantity of other tenor
