Unusual to see belts with solid copper rivets. These types of rivets are probably the toughest rivets available. From an old time saddle maker, Down Under

Nice clean belt. I really like the angled detail you finished the end with. Traditional brown leather belt with a subtle touch of modern design. Very nice! 👍🏻

So relaxing to watch. Every time I unroll a piece of leather I HAVE to run my hands over it! I don’t know why 🤔🤓 but I am so crazy about our craft, and the components there in, that every step just makes me a happy camper 🤗 Your videos are perfection to me - the right amount of ASMR, humor and amazing craftsmanship. Thank you!

My father is an immigrant from Sudan and I remember when he first came to the United States he worked in a leather factory. He used to work long hours and not be home, I used to always mess around and cause mischief, I always thought my mum didn't tell my dad.
One day my dad took my to his factory and showed me how to make belts, after a month I was ready to make my own belt. I was so happy, that night I went home and my father called me to the living room and was holding the belt I made, he gave me some ass whooping I will never forget. With the belt that he taught me to make. I don't know why, but that set me straight. Maybe one day I will get over my trauma and try to work with leather again.

It set you straight is the key. And what you made, helped make you the man you are today. Your trauma can be a treasure; through your leatherwork you can honor your father's memory.

Ahh now I get it, the first burnish does the face and back edges, then the colour goes on and you use the flatter section to burnish the central part second time! That’s how you get that rounded perfect look...... I’m watching you mister! 😉 Truly has inspirational and informative thank you ☺️

I like it growing up I used to have a friend his pap used to be a leatherman and what makes him unique was he also worked on shoes he would take a pair of boots and replace the worn out souls or treads whatever you want to call them and put on tire treads. I bet I had to be 15 or 16 years old wow where does the time go. I just wanted to share that.

My father used to make belts after his office work to bring more income into the family .
I’m 49 years old now and this was 40 years ago .
I love this and would love to learn it as hobby to just experience what my father went through after working long nine hours long at the office and come home and work another four or five hours to make ten or less belts to sell .
Just love it and thank you very much !
Wish you add a name to the material or tools you’ve used for making belts so we could get more information .
    Thank you 🙏

I have a tip for making a belt. If you make a belt like that youll want to stitch the the edges to prevent stretching over time. Over a couple years that belt will stretch maybe and inch or two. Just a tip no hate. It looks great

So is the leather you cut out in the beginning a 'single' or 'double'? Like did you have to glue the leathers together at any point for the thickness? i want to make a couple of nice belts myself, but im still in the process of learning the whole nine yards. would greatly appreciate it if you can explain the process in another video. Great video btw!!
